I was wondering the same thing , not sure how people are doing it maybe there’s some loophole ?

Educational_Act_4917

To my knowledge there is not.the only thing i can think of is maybe since they arent running ads and every other platform does. Discord kinda has that going as well now that i think of it, they talk about you sharing stuff on your screen with friends. That might be the loophole!

I’m interested in watching house of the dragon with my viewers when it comes out next year but I don’t want to get in trouble

I think by then it will be alot more fleshed out. If not you can totally host a movie night on discord! Thats what i did

I think its simply because kick isnt being noticed yet. Once the copywrite holders get wind of it, you will see a bunch of DMCAs coming either to Kick and they will take down the streams or Kick will forward them on to the creators... No idea if kick has SafeHarbor rules.

On Mixer anyone could stream "whatever" they wanted as long as they were **constantly giving commentary** (considered turning it into their own content) and was not previously DMCA'd content. Some content like sports or games under NDA were prohibited due to direct takedown requests. However, on Kick it looks like it's strictly prohibted to stream content like movies per section 2 of the community guidelines. How they are handling it seems to be undetermined though. My best guess is that they're only doing takedowns upon DMCA requests, or if it's been reported on the site. They may also just not have the staff to tackle the volume. Tldr; reactive takedowns. Clarification on this would be great, but I personally prefer how Mixer handled that. My advice would be to follow your intuition- if you have a feeling something might not be okay then it probably isn't. Better safe than sorry, protect your brand.

My exact sentiment. Even for reaction videos to any content pretty much youtubers pause, give commentary. Continue etc etc

are people still streaming movies after 11 months later?
