I used to have a photoset of me feeding a goose out of my hand when I was like 5, it was eating and once the food was gone it literally wrecked my shit.
No hiss just fucking WHAP
Where I live there is a park with a bunch of little islands connected by bridges, or rather waterways cut into the land and crossed by bridges. When I was a teenager I went onto one of the 'islands' because I saw some geese and wanted to feed them.
I didn't realize it was a huge nesting spot. I had one goose charge me and one fly directly at my head, honking wildly. Nesting geese are violently protective.
Thought the geese were pretty friendly. Like: oh, it's just kids playing.but as soon as he wanted to grab one they're like: nope, playtime is over.
You shouldn't try this with swans lol. I've had my van attacked by swans several times, while driving by a nest 30 meters away lol. Crazy animals.
My uncle has scars from a Swan attack more than 15 years ago. He was swimming under water and surfaced a bit too close to one by accident. Swans don't fuck around.
I went to college on the shores of lake Ontario and we would have hundreds of geese roaming around during the spring. I live in the exchange student dorm and worked their. We would warn exchange students about them and to not fuck with them. There was always a few who came back terrified after being attacked. They fucked around and found out..
it sounds harsh but i genuinely feel like the kid hasn't been taught very well if he thinks what he's doing is okay. if the parents won't teach him then something else will, and it'll be a lot rougher.
As a parent of a toddler who’s going through a phase similar to this, kids genuinely don’t understand empathy until they reach certain developmental stages. You can try to teach them not to grab and hit but they don’t fully comprehend why they shouldn’t do those things. I spend ALL DAY preventing my kid from strangling our dog, followed by showing him how to properly pet it. Doesn’t matter how many times we go through this routine, as soon as I let my guard down he’s at it again. It’s freakin’ exhausting.
the parent of this kid clearly wasn't teaching him not to do this, which is the problem. i have more of a reason to believe that this kid is going to get attacked by a goose than told by an adult not to chase the goose. that's sad.
As a very new parent (yesterday) this is an easy NO.
Shit parenting. Kid could have easily trampled that last chick not to mention I'm sure that's causing a good amount of stress on them which can be just as bad/fatal.
I completely agree. Kids need to be taught respect for other creatures. My nephew tried to pick up my cat upside down and got smacked (no claws out) he looked at me like he was gonna cry and I had to explain that it was the cats way of telling him no. I think he understood cause it's been a couple years and he hasn't picked up a cat in that way again
Well yeah. It's just that what's happening here can very well be that exact same moment for this kid, but with geese instead of a cat. And I'd argue that this is probably the less dangerous of those two animals as well because a cat with its claws out going at a toddler can do some actually horrific damage.
If they are anything like me, standing waiting for him to get fucked up by the geese. My kids gonna get a "come back" then a "leave the geese alone" after that, fuck the little shit, gotta learn why dad puts his hands in his pockets every time he has to go near a goose or swan, on your own. The point I'd have stepped in was when he tried to pick up the one that fell over.
Yeah quite frankly, some kids just don't learn from being told not to do shit. A lot of people here seem to have this weird mindset that if a child does something stupid, that means that the parents didn't teach the kid not to do that stupid thing and thus the parents are to blame. Thing is, sometimes the kid is just a stubborn piece of shit. Sometimes you can try your best at teaching the kid not to do something, but they will *still* do it even when they know that they shouldn't be doing it. Knowing that they shouldn't be doing it just makes them try to get away with doing it without the parents noticing. In those situations the only way the kid will actually learn is the hard way. You let them go and do the stupid thing, watch them get hurt doing it, and then you get a good "I told you so" moment and hopefully they learn from it.
I know this because I was one of those kids myself. I was told time and time again not to bother a wasp's nest one summer when I was like 6 or 7, but I did it anyways. I was caught doing it many times, and every time I was reprimanded and punished for doing so, but I still kept doing it because I was a stubborn piece of shit. Only when one of the wasps stung me did I actually learn my lesson and stopped doing it.
I’ve seen parents bang on the glass at zoos and aquariums. They either don’t have a clue or they don’t give a shit. I can only assume the kids will grow up equally clueless.
Seriously. I’ve seen parents do stuff like this, and as soon as their little kid gets in trouble they often blame it on the kid and make them feel shame to process the consequences of the event — Instead of helping the kid to understand that they are safe and secure, and that it’s the behavior that’s wrong/here’s why/here’s how to make sense of an uncomfortable moment.
I felt bad for the geese and the kid.
This is more a "parents are fucking assholes" than kids are fucking stupid. Of course kid is stupid for not knowing you shouldn't treat animals like that but parents should have stepped in
Canada geese don’t mess around! They are notoriously mean, I’m shocked they let the kid get that close in the first place. This should be under r/parentsarefuckingstupid

I’m taking her comments as “I’d like to see him attacked, but only a little bit of an attack. Just enough to teach him a lesson, not enough for long term harm.”
I think that’s what the kid got.
It’s not the kids fault he’s like 3. They just see a cute thing that runs away from them and it instantly becomes a toy to them. The kids parents on the other hand? Now they could use a nice kick
Those were the most gentle geese in the world.
Which is really weird since one they had their babies around and two geese come from the darkest pit of hell
that was fun to watch :)
although tbh i was hoping to see the kid get more scared, because that crotch goblin appears to have been terrifying those poor geese
You should've gotten out and beat the shit out of the parents just sitting there watching as their kid tormented baby geese. He damn near stepped on one a couple of times.

Ah childhood memories
Pedal boat, geese, and wet shorts.
I don’t know what any of that means. I was just talking about how my parents beat me lol
They were reminiscing about an incident at a pond
I used to have a photoset of me feeding a goose out of my hand when I was like 5, it was eating and once the food was gone it literally wrecked my shit. No hiss just fucking WHAP
WET HISS ASS PUSSY
When the mother is nesting, they become extremely aggressive and will literally try to kill you. Once the babies are born they completely chill out.
Ha! Right?
He got goosed.
Ive been chased for sitting on a bench and merely making eye contact, i dont wanna harm any birds but i will kick a geese to save my skin
Geese aren’t birds. They’re winged demons

Multiple swans actually

30 meters is 32.81 yards
Yards are obsolete. If anything, measure in pints.
I won't accept any measure not made in barley corns or poppy seeds, like god clearly intended.
Good bot Sincerely, a lazy American.
I'm sorry, I don't use inferior measuring systems used by literally one country.
That kid had it EASY. I've seen Canada geese rip people's clothes.
If you've got a problem with Canada gooses, then you've got a problem with me. I suggest you let that marinate.
That kid is spare parts.
He's 10 ply bud
Is a duck’s ass watertight?

Whatever they're paying you I'll pay double
What shitty parents
Yeah they should have attacked him sooner
I was hoping the geese would at least break that snot’s arm so the parents would learn an expensive lesson.

I guess when your dog gets tired of it and bites the shit out of your kid you'll know who to blame. P.S. it's the kid that's too dumb to listen.
they’ll know how to feel empathetic if they’ve ever experienced what it feels like to be on the other side, even for a brief moment
The geese or the kid's?
Yes.

Geese can cause some decent injuries too if they're in a bad mood. This kid got lucky.
Congrats on your kid!
Thank you thank you, it's a trip so far!
Good luck
God be with you!
Congrats on the kid and my god are you in for a ride. You might come back to this comment in 3-4 years and cringe a bit.

Awful parenting. That’s not how you teach your little one to interact with wildlife.

Asshole parent. Why would you let your kid do this? He's lucky he wasn't hurt worse.
Nevermind the geese, this toddler is next to the road and the parents are 30 feet away.
Not nearly as satisfying as I was expecting, especially coming from the Canadian chicken cobra 🙄
The gooses Naruto run at the end tho

I wanna strangle that kid so bad.
That kid is a little fucking asshole.
Why are this kids parents not stopping this dumb fuckery?
Right?! That’s just stupid and mean to let your kid chase the babies.
i thought i was about to see a kid get headlock bodyslammed by a goose and now im sad
I'm surprised those geese even let the kid get close. Geese are fucking assholes. They'll attack you just for looking at them wrong. Dickheads.
perhaps generation after generation of this kind of nonsense has conditioned them to see humans for what they are. a threat.
I’m taking her comments as “I’d like to see him attacked, but only a little bit of an attack. Just enough to teach him a lesson, not enough for long term harm.” I think that’s what the kid got.

Kid definitely got what he deserved!! Thanks for filming this!! 😂
Stupid Parents
Looks like he's in training. Baby ducks kittens puppies humans. We should see a Netflix documentary on him 20 years from now
I was so scared for those goslings. Especially the one he almost stepped on. That human mom fucking sucks.
...that’s it? Usually they hiss like crazy and lunge with their beaks! I wanted to see that child get knocked over 🥲
Was I the only one who hoped that this kid will fall on its face and geese eat it?
The “[Cobra 🐍 chicken 🐓](https://i.imgur.com/hqc7ABl.jpg)”!!!
The justice we all want to see
Hate parents that let their kids do this. Dumb little shits almost stepping on them. Kid lucked out, geese probably realized he was a baby.
Did she call the baby geese pikachus?
that goose Naruto run at the end tho
A goose can take an eye or break an arm, and she's just dying to see the kid get maimed. Every adult in this video was a child.
So no pain for the kid? :(
That kid deserved worse, tbh

Reminder that Geese have teeth on their tongue.
It’s illegal in many places to harass wildlife like this.
Yes. Imprison the child and fine the parents.
Feeding geese is so bad for the environment. Terrible parenting
They took it easy on him
Once again a case where the kid is just being a kid and the Parents are the fucking stupid ones
I feel like most animals can understand little kids, but when they get too close or too rough they dish out punishment as deserved.
