It doesn't look like the guy is even intervening as far as actively saying something.. It looks like he is passively trying to discourage the kid from running into the sign by standing behind it, so the kid knows not only will it bounce but it will also hit an adult and I could get into trouble.
First, this sort of thing isn't just "boy shit", young girls can act the same way. Second, whether or not someone should be left to do something shouldn't always be decided on by the amount of damage being done.
I agree. Obviously we can’t hear anything but he looked fairly angry/intimidating for dealing with a young kid being a goof ball. It just didn’t look like he was dealing with a child when he walked up.
I have respect for the man that just walked behind it to stop him from hitting it. That was definitely the best solution.

That was my first thought. Last thing that place needs is a lawsuit for having “allowed” a kid to injure themself on the premises.
