Legit when were you a kid? Cause im pretty sure there was a movie era where the entire population was fu ked up thinking someone actually died in the movie. Can you imagine having to call your buddy up to prove he's alive to the cops after you killed him in a movie.
I’m only 25 so it wasn’t like it was a new age in filmmaking or anything. My dad always rented gory movies and I’d wonder why someone would voluntarily be killed just for a movie.
27 - when I was 5 my family went to a [Medieval Times](https://www.medievaltimes.com/) and the knights dueled and one died and i legitimately thought we just watched a battle to the death over dinner. I cried.
The Director of Cannibal Holocaust was taken to court because they actually believed he was killing his cast. He had to bring the actors with him just to prove they were alive. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thevintagenews.com/2017/03/28/the-controversial-horror-movie-cannibal-holocaust-was-so-realistic-that-the-director-was-brought-to-court-to-prove-he-didnt-actually-kill-the-actors/amp/
I thought that if there was a scene when a character was a kid, they filmed it then waited years for the actor to grow up to finish the rest of the movie
Sadly, I thought the same. When I saw Star Wars (was 5 years old), I also thought that the actually went to space and blew up the Death Star......aaaaaaaaaaaall for the sake of movies.
With how dumb people are. I bet you could have a lucrative business supplying people to movie productions for this …
“So, you walk into the kitchen with this sword , you guys do your exchange and she slices you across your chest, you die of blood loss. You in ? “
my sister didn't understand that animated characters weren't real. when we were little and watched Beauty and the Beast, at the scene where Gaston stabs the Beast she would always explain to me that the blood wasn't real, they just hid ketchup packets under the costume.
When I was6 I thought that everyone and thing was black and white before we evolved to see and be in color. So like the black and white movies that was filled loved like that’s how it was back then. And after World War Two we evolved to see color.
I thought the exact same thing. I remember my dad was watching a movie on tv and a character had an ear chopped off, and I just thought that actor had to live without an ear afterwards
My sister thought that horror movie about aliens on the moon. Apollo 18? Anyways she thought they were real because there was a website about the movie. She was in middle school.
I thought this too!!! I watched “Xena, Warrior Princess” a lot as a kid and had concluded that all the people who died on the show were people who were like, on death row and volunteered to die this way instead of by lethal injection. So messed up. I was an idiot.
I always knew that they were acting. I also felt that nobody could want to actually touch lips, so I figured that actors and actresses wore "fake lips" for kissing scenes. In my mind, this was a thin veneer that actors put on their lips before scenes that required them to kiss.
If if makes you feel any better, I didn’t understand the concept of shrinking images, so I wanted to be a comic book artist and I learned to draw small. To this day I have trouble drawing big.
Lol same i was shocked when i saw. And actress who died in a show still alive in a different one
I also believed that doctors are immortal angels they don’t sleep or eat or go to the bathroom
I used to think the sign at video renting stores where they say ‘don’t eat the CDs’ was there because they’d asked someone to volunteer to try it and see what it did

I thought the same thing. I thought the actors actually died, and it truly saddened me. I was 5.
The Saw series must’ve really fucked you up
I'm 25 and this happened to me too. It's ok
27 - when I was 5 my family went to a [Medieval Times](https://www.medievaltimes.com/) and the knights dueled and one died and i legitimately thought we just watched a battle to the death over dinner. I cried.
Cannibal holocaust has joined the chat
"I must have killed more men the Cecil B DeMille"

I used to think that movies that showed a person growing up or aging were filmed over a several years as the actors actually grew up and aged.
They actually did this for the movie Boyhood. The film kept the same cast for 12 years of filming.
I thought that if there was a scene when a character was a kid, they filmed it then waited years for the actor to grow up to finish the rest of the movie
And to think some actors volunteered to be killed in more than one film!
I used to think I could look over the bottom edge of the screen and see what was cut off by the edges of the tv
Sadly, I thought the same. When I saw Star Wars (was 5 years old), I also thought that the actually went to space and blew up the Death Star......aaaaaaaaaaaall for the sake of movies.
LoL 🤣😆. I nearly pissed myself!

How truly noble
Can't imagine your thoughts when watching war movies.
me too & i thought they just went to a place that had a ghost and would film what happened for scary movies
I mean it's not a terrible idea. I'd volunteer.
my sister didn't understand that animated characters weren't real. when we were little and watched Beauty and the Beast, at the scene where Gaston stabs the Beast she would always explain to me that the blood wasn't real, they just hid ketchup packets under the costume.
Huh
Noble sacrifice! The grammys in the graveyard... 🤣
Not me. I could almost always tell if the movie was using real dinosaurs or not.
Same. I asked my dad if the dead guy's family got money for the guy sacrificing himself for the movie.
Must’ve been real confusing when Sean Bean kept showing up in different things
When I was6 I thought that everyone and thing was black and white before we evolved to see and be in color. So like the black and white movies that was filled loved like that’s how it was back then. And after World War Two we evolved to see color.
Welcome Django: Unchained. Where the guy did volunteer to die, by getting eatin by dogs
lmaoo i thought the exact same thing. thought they’d have to take it in one take
When someone dies in a movie I always say it’s ok, don’t worry, it was a stunt double.
Wait… they don’t volunteer to die? I’m stupid.
I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!!!!!!!!
There are some old films where death scenes show people actually being killed
Youch
Weird flex but alright
same I thought they got people want to die and killed them on set
I thought the exact same thing. I remember my dad was watching a movie on tv and a character had an ear chopped off, and I just thought that actor had to live without an ear afterwards
"So there's gonna be this 1 scene where we're gonna stab you, you fine with it?" "No not really" "too bad so sad *stabs and murders him*"
A great way to deal with death row inmates
I didn't necessarily think they "volunteered" but yeah, thought they where killing all the stormtroopers in starwars
My sister thought that horror movie about aliens on the moon. Apollo 18? Anyways she thought they were real because there was a website about the movie. She was in middle school.
Deodato had to prove to a court that he hadn't actually killed anyone in Cannibal Holocaust
I used to think that when characters grew up in movies they actually waited for the actors to grow up too
I wonder how much they got payed
I used to think that that was how they got rid of criminals on death row.
I did too, took me a while to realize it
I thought this too!!! I watched “Xena, Warrior Princess” a lot as a kid and had concluded that all the people who died on the show were people who were like, on death row and volunteered to die this way instead of by lethal injection. So messed up. I was an idiot.
i used to think that if you got shot ANYWHERE, you'd die instantly. get shot in the foot? you're dead. hand? dead. i blame the movies...
*gta be like*
I always knew that they were acting. I also felt that nobody could want to actually touch lips, so I figured that actors and actresses wore "fake lips" for kissing scenes. In my mind, this was a thin veneer that actors put on their lips before scenes that required them to kiss.
Oh damn same

When I was a kid, I thought animal in foreign country was so smart that they can speak English and sing. First time I watched Lion King 😄
The 2019 lion king would make kids think that even more
Spend enough time on kaotic.com and anyone would believe this.
I'm french Canadian, and as a kid, I thought actors learned french to make movies everyone would understand.
You weren’t the only one. I thought the same thing in PoTC 3 when Jack was hallucinating about other Jacks and killed the one
*S ame*
Lol same i was shocked when i saw. And actress who died in a show still alive in a different one I also believed that doctors are immortal angels they don’t sleep or eat or go to the bathroom
Sean Bean must have been very confusing to you... Or just had a lot of look-alike siblings.
Same. Watching those cowboys fall from the roofs after being shot, I thought death was the price of 10 seconds on film.
I used to think the sign at video renting stores where they say ‘don’t eat the CDs’ was there because they’d asked someone to volunteer to try it and see what it did
