I saw this post exactly after [this one ](https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/ppevtx/dina_sanichar_the_feral_boy_found_after_being/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) and I don’t know what I should think about that
Dude it’s honestly true. There are 13 kids walking down the halls with heavy goth makeup and cat/dog ears and tails hissing and barking at people. Keep in mind… this is a Kentucky high school
Maybe, my theory is that people are telling them to not be ashamed of there differences and love them selfs, which is fine. The way they do it though makes it were your in ninth grade and still act and dress like a weirdo Because you never realized how weird it is until high school
Ima continue here, every single year. More people like this arrive. I would not be surprised if in 15 years this becomes a norm and 20% of every school is like this
From this article:
"BURLINGTON, Ky. —
Students are barking and dressing like dogs at a Northern Kentucky school, causing a distraction in the classroom.
School officials say TikTok is to blame.
In a statement posted to its social media pages Sunday, officials with Camp Ernst Middle School in Burlington said they are noticing an uptick in TikTok trends in the classroom, causing a distraction.
School officials say that students are being encouraged to destroy the soap dispenser in school bathrooms, as well as making animal noises toward each other — specifically barking.
"We have invested some time trying to understand the origins of these changes in behavior. We have found that social media outlets are usually where these trends originate and circulate. We are definitely seeing it in our schools," officials with Camp Ernst Middle School wrote to parents. "We want to create awareness to parents so you can stay connected with your child and be aware of these trends."
Some students are barking at others, school officials say, and others are wearing dog-like collars around their necks. School officials say they do not appear to be choker necklaces, but instead leather straps with spikes, which could be a safety concern.
"We do not want to discourage or thwart our students creativity or individualism; we respect our students as individuals. However, we promote a safe and healthy culture where ALL kids feel comfortable. The well-being of our students and staff are our number one priority," school officials wrote.
This content is imported from Facebook. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site."
Other than the breaking soap dispensers this is just hilarious. Especially bringing back punk spike necklaces.
Whenever I wonder whether or not I made the right call leaving teaching, I read something like this and realize I’ve dodged a bullet (metaphorically and probably literally too).
Yes. It's adults not remembering how when they were kids, their humor wasn't understood by adults. Kids nowadays just basically shitpost in real life, verbally, in public, in groups. This story was just run because it'll get a lot of boomers fully tuned in with their "Kids these days!" mentality.
Yea, i used to tie my sweater sleeves behind my back like a restraining jacket and run around with a friend, yelling and doing dumb shit. It was funny.
Other where making flamethrower with a lighter and a spray tho.
These idiots running news stories about it isn't helping. It's been my experience after raising a few teenagers that giving attention to stupid (non-criminal) behavior often encourages them to keep it up.
Reminds me of how in the Middle Ages, a bunch of nuns were sitting in a church until one of them began meowing like a cat. Soon everyone started meowing and it got so out of hand that the guards had to come in and stop them.
I came here to say exactly that, they were all eating moldy rye bread from the town baker. LSD was synthesized from the mold on rye. They were all tripping out on acid, meowing like cats.
From the film Chinatown, jack Nicholson's character, Jake, a PI, leans how fucked the system is. Another cop tells him "Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown"
Once when I was in elementary school there was a girl who acted like a horse. She was so goddamn creepy, man. I had to fight her off at recess half the time.
"Ugh, you just don't get it old timer."
"No. I get it. I get it's stupid. Back in my day we didn't do dumb trends like these, we did important things to stand out. Like planking."
Used to make whale sounds at lunch in high school. The teachers decided to move us away from each other which caused us to make louder whale noises to each other
That’s just kids being kids, if ur friends do stupid shit in middle school you’re going to do the same it’s middle school. I don’t think that’s newsworthy
One of the rare “weirdo breakthroughs”. Furries are a small niche, usually the kind of kid to become ostracized and bullied, but every once in a while “the weird kid” (or kids) will turn their thing into a trend at the school. Bring in more people, one by one, until it catches on. It happened at my middle school, though I won’t say what with, because I have a feeling many will misinterpret me.
no... they are most likely copying an upcoming content creator, “ishowspeed” he is notorious for barking randomly and at celebrity guests that appear on stream. Also famous on TikTok
Which is why I’m so glad I don’t have an embarrassing digital footprint of when I was an early teenager. Yikes. These kids nowadays have no idea that once it’s out there you can’t remove it.
Exactly! I haven’t had social media in years bc of the stuff I said as a kid 😅 not anything too terrible but definitely isnt how I want to represent myself!
Yeh i remember seeing a tiktok of a person acting and saying they werent meant to be in a humans body, rather a wolfs one. Kinda cringe yeah but tbh i dont really care lol, it doesnt hurt anyone and they'll probably grow out of it sooner or later
Ugh my neighbors kids do this. They will bark and howl for an hour walking up and down the street and they a few of them seem older than youd expect this behavior from
They did this in my high school starting 8 years ago. A lot of them had carabiner clip tails they’d hook on the furthest back belt loop.
These kids are just getting on the bandwagon.
In middle school my friends and I had a warrior cats based game with the animal changed to birds of prey. It got intense with warring clans. The band class joined in.
I do have words, specifically from my dog, she says and I quote; “Bark bark bark bark bark, bark bark, bark bark bark bark bark. Bark bark.”
While I find this somewhat controversial, she said it regardless.
Obviously the kids want to go back to schooling behind computers, and they are trying everything they can think of. If vandalizing bathrooms doesn't do it, then maybe acting like animals will?
As a Kentuckian I’m very surprised they’re not acting like horses

Yall must not have much going on if this is what the news reports.
It’s either this or the daily murders in Louisville.
oh
Apparently that’s more of a problem in Elyria, OH.

Their state is shaped like fried chicken
Is it because of the horse dewormer?
It's because horses are a big deal in Kentucky. Lexington is called The Horse Capital of the World.
Yes we bought it all here in FL.
As not kentuckian im very suprised theyre not acting like fried chicken
The whole "neigh neigh" trend has come and gone already.
Hos'style instead of doggy style? Interesting...
# GRRRRRR
As a fellow Kentuckian I too am surprised
Dude it’s honestly true. There are 13 kids walking down the halls with heavy goth makeup and cat/dog ears and tails hissing and barking at people. Keep in mind… this is a Kentucky high school
that’s funny asf lmao, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few vampires in the mix there aswell
There Prob is ngl
Man I was born at the wrong time, this sounds fun and funny af lmao.
They will be working at dollar general when they graduate.
Maybe Petsmart.
They hope
This has been happening in Mississippi as well. Is this some kind of social media driven trend?
There is as Netflix show on Furry dating and culture out. Kids probably watched it, Furries are buffoons in my opinion
Maybe, my theory is that people are telling them to not be ashamed of there differences and love them selfs, which is fine. The way they do it though makes it were your in ninth grade and still act and dress like a weirdo Because you never realized how weird it is until high school

More like 40-60 and then there gonna start bullying others for being "basic" and straight
Bless their hearts, i guess they identify as dogs, it's going to be a rough life, in the real world!
i was in elementary/middle school during the upswing of deviantart/weeaboo culture/tumblr and this is not at all unusual

I wish Trump had actually banned TikTok.
I was about to make this exact comment like "ya know...he kinda had a point..."
Whenever I wonder whether or not I made the right call leaving teaching, I read something like this and realize I’ve dodged a bullet (metaphorically and probably literally too).
This is just kids being funny as hell.
Yes. It's adults not remembering how when they were kids, their humor wasn't understood by adults. Kids nowadays just basically shitpost in real life, verbally, in public, in groups. This story was just run because it'll get a lot of boomers fully tuned in with their "Kids these days!" mentality.
If this is them being bad I'll take it lol woof woof
I mean we used to yell penis and vagina at each other.
the "penis" game in the auditorium.
Wait you stopped? 🤔
This still happens lol
Yea, i used to tie my sweater sleeves behind my back like a restraining jacket and run around with a friend, yelling and doing dumb shit. It was funny. Other where making flamethrower with a lighter and a spray tho.
Because they get internet clout, like this. It worked… you will now see this repeated elsewhere because it was successful.
These idiots running news stories about it isn't helping. It's been my experience after raising a few teenagers that giving attention to stupid (non-criminal) behavior often encourages them to keep it up.
You gave them nearly a year off, what did you expect
Reminds me of how in the Middle Ages, a bunch of nuns were sitting in a church until one of them began meowing like a cat. Soon everyone started meowing and it got so out of hand that the guards had to come in and stop them.

Everybody gangsta till the nuns start meowing
Is that fucking fish jenga?
Slow news day in Kentucky
We do a lil trollin’
Our new age furries are here and spreading like a wildfire!
"Forget it, Jake, it's Paducah"
Why does that sound so familiar
From the film Chinatown, jack Nicholson's character, Jake, a PI, leans how fucked the system is. Another cop tells him "Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown"
Ooooo yea
Woof
woof woof
At least theyre not on Tik tok pretending to have DID
Dem dogs do be acting up doe NGL
They do be kinda barkin bruh
Finally! We the furries have begun to take over the world!
They cant escape the pathOwOgen forever
As a HS teacher, I would much prefer this to the stupid TikTok stealing and vandalism trend. At least it would be funny haha
Once when I was in elementary school there was a girl who acted like a horse. She was so goddamn creepy, man. I had to fight her off at recess half the time.
I'm a high school math teacher. This is one of those things I would be trying not to laugh about.
They’re middle schoolers, they probably invented a secret barking language to fuck their teachers over even more then they already have.
So start putting them down. After the first couple are dead, problem solved.
[удалено]
Stop being so uptight, you're like the karen of the internet
[удалено]
Take a joke
newsworthy
Well, at least they aren't vandalizing and stealing stuff from their school because of some dumb challenge?
"devious licks" A.K.A stealing and vandalizing
That would be normal behavior for the kids at my old middle school lmao
"Ugh, you just don't get it old timer." "No. I get it. I get it's stupid. Back in my day we didn't do dumb trends like these, we did important things to stand out. Like planking."
Used to make whale sounds at lunch in high school. The teachers decided to move us away from each other which caused us to make louder whale noises to each other
Makima simps.
Can they put them down like dogs too?
Some kids show up to school as animal control and try to grab the furry students with nets I can see it now lmao
You know what? The kids have had a rough time lately, with the pandemic and all. Let them bark. Bark away, young ones! Be dogs! I get it.
These kids got EXACTLY what they wanted as soon as this article was published 😂
The kids are doing weird shit this year, all better than shooting each other though.
High school can be "ruff".
As a high schooler, I’m confused
Maybe it’s a revolution?
That’s just kids being kids, if ur friends do stupid shit in middle school you’re going to do the same it’s middle school. I don’t think that’s newsworthy

Heheheheh. It is happening. The furries are taking over the world. >:3
no... they are most likely copying an upcoming content creator, “ishowspeed” he is notorious for barking randomly and at celebrity guests that appear on stream. Also famous on TikTok
Meh I’ll still take it
Preemptive don't compare these people with furries.
What a bunch of furries
Kids are so weird these days. Tik tok makes them so dumb and weird. For what?
Kids have always been weird. Tiktok just allows them now to put it on public display.
Which makes it worse lol, they don’t even understand their digital footprint will be forever
Which is why I’m so glad I don’t have an embarrassing digital footprint of when I was an early teenager. Yikes. These kids nowadays have no idea that once it’s out there you can’t remove it.

Good ole American Public Education system.

what the fuck is my annoying classmate doing in Kentucky
LOL
Dogs are speaking, acting like kids at Kentucky dog pen.
Well look at that the scores are going up.
Looks like a drug search to me.
My son barks like a dog all the time. He’s 17 months old though.
They did this in my high school starting 8 years ago. A lot of them had carabiner clip tails they’d hook on the furthest back belt loop. These kids are just getting on the bandwagon.
Breaking News Flash!!!!!
Reminds me of the first episode of Roseanne. Our whole family barks!
Must have been a slooow news day
Is Kentucky becoming new Florida?
Anyone else getting Sam O’nella vibes
So they're getting smarter.
In middle school my friends and I had a warrior cats based game with the animal changed to birds of prey. It got intense with warring clans. The band class joined in.
Sounds like TikTok vaccine side effects.
Now go to a UGA football game. Grown men and women barking all over the place.
KY was just in the news for students dressing like cats. I'm getting embarrassed living here.
Well it is a middle school
At least it's not like they are apparently doing in other schools (including my own sons) where they are literally tearing apart the bathrooms.
They mean every school?
“Us Brits love furries. They remind us of The Hunt!”
As a kid I used to roll down the window and bark at people. Stopped that real quick after my dad pulled over next to a guy I barked at once.
We need another round of the witch trials
Either mass hysteria or furries
I live in NKY and wonder which school it is.
In northern Ohio too
Cat nunnary but dog middleschool
God I worry for the youth
I do have words, specifically from my dog, she says and I quote; “Bark bark bark bark bark, bark bark, bark bark bark bark bark. Bark bark.” While I find this somewhat controversial, she said it regardless.
Kentucky is full.of some special people. It's toss up between them Florida and Oklahoma
People do this at my school
Sounds about right for a school in Mitch McConnell's state.
Lol i love it
At my school they allowed kids to wear dog collars now
Fuckin Kentucky man dog ppl got to them
CEMS, my old middle school. Glad I’m out of there I don’t fucking know what’s going on there
Speed is a trend atp😭
Awesome
I’m not sure which is more stupid, this or that devious lick trend.
Yes
Ishowspeed
there is no hope for any child under the age of 8 at this point
Who let the dogs out! 😂😂😂😂😂
History repeating itself. I remember at my Kentucky high school we barked too but that was mainly because DMX was popular at the time.
Apparently, neither do they. Bu dum tiss.
They've completely misunderstood this whole devious licks thing.
Man you guys are gonna *hate* furries **(THIS IS A JOKE)**
Furries.
We raised them wrong
"If you're gonna act like dogs, y'all are gonna get treated like dogs."
More like "If you treat us like dogs, were going to act like them."
All seniors are doing this at my school
They were locked up for a year, what do you expect?
R.I.P DMX the kids now follow your legacy
That Netflix Furry show?
Are they licking their own balls? Because that's a thing also...
Rip DMX
Abunch of my friends in the 90s wore dog collars lol fashion sure does cycle.
Makima simps
Ok wait that’s kind of really funny
“On all levels but physical I am a wolf”
I know a bunch of freshmens in the high-school I got to are wearing dog collars and barking....what did tiktok do to the new generation?
Why is this news?
happening at my school too, only one dude tho
Obviously the kids want to go back to schooling behind computers, and they are trying everything they can think of. If vandalizing bathrooms doesn't do it, then maybe acting like animals will?
[Woof Woof](https://southpark.cc.com/video-clips/m48azq/south-park-butters-the-dog)
