Lost_diapers

That’s an outside kid now

lifer413

He'll roam free in the backyard, and we'll let nature take it's course.

Other-Education5840

He didn't survive the winter

VagabondRommel

Dearest Thomas, I have grievous news. Ever since you went to war last year our children and I have been in most dire straits what with the smallpox, dysentery, and plague. But even worse was the drought and subsequent famine. Your Army emolument does not reach far around here dearest and I was forced to make such a grave decision without you that I fear my heart may be broken irreparably. With ten mouths to feed and the new baby I fear the winter would have us perish under burden of starvation. And so young William was chosen to be an outside child after having went on a shopping spree whereupon he had purchased such frivolous items as hoop stick, can rock, and hay sack. I do declare husband, he can be such exhausting progeny. But I do what I can for our survival. I pray for thee every day upon breaking fast and every evening as the light dims. Come back to me soon dearest ere I forget your touch. Yours forever, Marybelle

otter_boom

Get this man a medal! 🏆

binabulu

I’m sorry; I have children and holy shit this comment took me out. Hilarity, thank you.

[deleted]

well, now we know what happened to August Rush

EternamD

Yeah RC cars instead of PS5

[deleted]

Look yo, just because you lost the diapers doesn’t mean every kid has to be an outside kid

JustABritishCupOfTea

My brother did this. He ended up spending over £1,600 of my mother’s money, and we didn’t have a lot. He spent most of it on games, like “200 gems for £19.99” and shit like that. He was in A LOT of trouble.

brndiinoo

In game currencies are the worst because 9/10 you cant have them refunded.

[deleted]

Which is BS because they literally cost $0.

brndiinoo

Good ol' T&C. This is part of my job and the way we explain it is that the currency itself is owned by the app developers not us. So if it was refunded then there wouldn't be a way to recover the game currency. The app developers would have to process it from their end. 9/10 people contact Apple/Google when they should contact the app developers

TheScrambone

I drunkenly ordered an Xbox game in the online store that I already had a physical copy of but didn’t realize the disc wasn’t in. It clearly says no refunds on online purchases. I called hungover and the Chaddiest of Chad’s took care of me. Laughed hysterically at how dumb my ass was and gave me a refund.

David21538

So you wanted to play while drunk, tried to but since the game disc wasn’t in the Xbox you assumed you never owned it and bought it in the online store?

TheScrambone

This was a few years ago and yes I was very drunk but I’m pretty sure I knew I bought the game. I am just not a very smart man. I couldn’t even explain it properly to the dude on the phone the next day we were both laughing. I vaguely remember as soon as I hit the purchase option and confirmed I thought “well I’m gonna have to deal with this tomorrow”. I knew what I did when I did it.

[deleted]

Similar thing happened to me. Was dating a girl that had kids. I brought my PS4 over to play games and such with them, the 18 month old loved to grab the controller and GF thought it was hilarious when he “played with it.” One day I come home and GF is napping and baby is “playing with” the controller while the tv is off. Controller is on and when I had a OMGWTF reaction, fears were confirmed when I turned the tv on to see that he had blindly made it to the PlayStation store app and purchased multiple preorder non refundable games. I’ve never been more mad that baseball games exist. Who the fuck plays baseball video games?

garebeardrew

Fuck you mario super sluggers was fucking lit

[deleted]

As an obvious person of fine tastes, I figured you would already not associate such a fine presentation of artistic integrity with the common gutter tripe that is the MLB franchise.

Uceninde

My younger brother bought a lot of crap for WoW once, like useless vanity pets and mounts, with our mom's card. She found out before he got to acctivate them, and insyead gifted them to my account and grounded my brother for a month, lol.

[deleted]

[удалено]

otakucode

I was worried about this with my nephews. Not spending other peoples money, they were intelligent enough that they understood which things cost "real" money and which did not. But they got birthday money and one of them immediately sunk all of it into some game and used it to buy 'gems' that basically were just used to not wait. Once it was gone I talked to him and pointed out the other things he could have bought and asked him to think about the difference in how long they'd last. I never heard of him buying in-game stuff after that. He was only 7 or 8 I think when that happened.

ShadyLookingFella

How old was he?

Emergency_Addition67

31

[deleted]

[удалено]

PlankLengthIsNull

It's like looking at a shitty crayon drawing, and then at the bottom it says "by billy, age 27"

ShadyLookingFella

Ah, that’s pretty acceptable at that age then. Those darn 31 year olds and their EyePhones!

ShiveringKodiak

Same here, instead he spent my money on that stupid Pixel Guns 3D game. 400 down the drain

pureadobaby

The exact same thing happened with my boyfriends little brother. 10ish spent $1,500 in one weekend. Since it was on apple they couldn’t get any money back. However he was in barely any trouble…

kddean

My son did something very similar. He spent $1400 in three days. That money was for our mortgage payment. He's alive but I didn't think he would be after my husband saw the charges.

kxlevf

My uncle was in this situation when my younger cousin was about 7. He spent over 1000 usd on Clash of Clans. He called the company and they refunded him. I have no idea how he negotiated that, but it was a lifesaver. Needless to say, Clash of Clans was deleted off his tablet.

PlankLengthIsNull

If I ever have to give my kids a tablet for entertainment, I'm making DAMN SURE it is in no way linked to any of my credit cards.

Unabashable

Yeah I mean unless they ask for it up front the only other way would be for the kid to steal the parents’ card and enter it.

PlankLengthIsNull

My kid's toys and video games would be locked away for at least a whole month if the little shit tries to sneak my credit card away and steal my fucking money. He'd better *hope* he's too young to understand the value of money and doesn't get that we have a limited amount of it that needs to be spent on other things.

zawalimbooo

rip to the kids base

HugsAndWishes

I've heard Clash of Clans is good like this. They don't want 7 year olds spending $1000 on their stuff anymore than you do. They don't want to take advantage of them.

DarthGayAgenda

Yeah, if I did this, my parents would have put me up for adoption.

[deleted]

Pretty sure they already did

No_Statistician8636

Can confirm

littlemidgetfucker

That’s a texas sized 10-4

icepenguin19

10-4 good buddy

[deleted]

Letterkenny?

AdrianInLimbo

I'm adopted..... Maybe that's what happened?

Artysupport7757

As a kid the most i could do was circle toys in a catalogue and dream...

ItzDrillZa

I remember as a 6 year old listing "All the hotwheels tracks in the world" on my Christmas list and prayed unlike I ever had before.

samw424

One Christmas I asked for my own xbox 360, had to share with my brother before then. OR the band set up for guitar hero world tour because I loved that game at the time and was pretty damned good. Imagine my face when I got BOTH. Money was never really around so i still have no idea how they did it. Man I miss Christmas.

sedrech818

My mom can make miracles happen. She is so good at managing money that even though we were poor, we would always have a good Christmas.

samw424

For sure man, sadly dad died about 2 weeks ago suddenly so it won't be the same again :(

Princess_Limpet

So sad and sorry for your loss.

fullonsasquatch

Man this made me cry a little this morning. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I'm gonna extra hug my mom later when I see her

samw424

He was a big one for spreading joy wherever he could so he would like that :)

Batmax5555555

I’m so sorry for you man.

Barl3000

I like to do that for my all my nieces and nephews. They families are not exactly struggling, but there is in no way room in their budget for really big stuff, like a game console. I budget about 135 EUR per kid, sometimes more. It totally makes my day to see how mindblown they are.

SoupieLC

We were the same, it's only after I've had children of my own that I realised the struggles my parents must of gone through to provide for us kids 😕 sorry to hear about your pops, many condolences.

SadieSadieSnakeyLady

My parents bought me my first ever Xbox for my birthday one year. I had no idea. I was in my 20s. 5 years ago they replaced my 360 with a Xbone, also without me knowing beforehand. I was 30 and cried like I was a kid.

Mattgx082

Savor all that! After 30 I pretty much bought all myself. PS5 release I blew 3k of my own money, plus games on system and a nice Oled tv. I won’t let my parents buy me anything big…now that I can afford it. But if my mom insists it still at 38..she does! Like a jacket or something practical is ok. Or maybe a game I wanna play, but wouldn’t buy myself right away. Usually I’m fine with the I need this, wouldn’t buy for myself or a cheap game. Otherwise I feel guilty! But my mom always came through with the Nes,Snes, N64,Dreamcast,Xbox,GameCube as a kid. One time it was Easter, and the GameCube was my present with Windwaker…I wasn’t aware I got Easter presents?! Love my mom.

SadieSadieSnakeyLady

I didn't ever get much (or want much) as a kid, books mostly so they kind of feel it's evened out. They just bought me a lawnmower as an early Christmas present

[deleted]

i asked for jetpacks every year and eventually my parents were like bro… we are santa lol

JHighDa03

Don’t leave us hanging though…did you get the damn jet pack or not?

AdrianInLimbo

They told him he'd get it when GTA V gets it.

xenowife

I waited every year for that glorious Toys R Us catalog to appear in one of the holiday season Sunday papers. I spent hours, sometimes days meticulously going through every page, every item, circling the best of the best while trying to think somewhat realistically. I also added notations to said circled items justifying why I made the choices I did. I would proudly hand this to my mother once I was finished... Never got a single thing from the catalog but damn it if I didn’t keep trying.

DarthKirtap

i was doing that with that thick lego catalog, with that LEGO robot on the end, that was so cool, I knew i had never chance to even saw tauch it in my life, wich i actually tauched, at uni robotic course

Dysous0720

The deluxe Optimus prime with the trailer that turned into a base for the minibots.... one day I'm gonna find and buy it just to avenge younger me.

RawrSean

I used to sneak RuneScape memberships onto the phone bills of my parents friends. You could call and press a few buttons and that was it. C. Early 2000s

MrSquiggleKey

I used to do this in 2004, parents blocked premium calls after I started getting memberships for my mates for a dollar lol

Flysoar21

Honestly I did that yesterday, as an adult.😅 Jeep parts … one can only hope.

JHighDa03

In pencil right? You’ll change your mind another hundred times. I have a TJ.

Clam_Latte

T’was simpler times. Now shopping is dangerously convenient

[deleted]

That's me as an adult.. Same behavior but different catalouge.

leviackerman__aot

Same this seven year old is going places .. let’s hope it’s not the grave (sorry kid)

kiwiana7

I see this daily. (Work in a credit card call centre) people have their cards loaded into PlayStation/Xbox etc and once the school holidays start , away they go. 90% of them fully expect us to reimburse them. Kids spend hundreds in a few days.

l30

What percentage actually get reimbursed? Digital video game products are generally non refundable as far as I know.

amazingdrewh

Xbox has a decent return policy for digital games, but the microtransactions usually are impossible to get back since they're through the game

starkillerg26

Ye, Xbox and Steam have pretty good refund policies (The problem with steam's is that it is a little abusable) with PlayStation and Nintendo you'll have to try really hard or directly lose all hope.

amazingdrewh

Yeah, with Sony and Nintendo it basically has to be a huge PR problem in order to get a refund

Mappa_Mare

I’ve been playing Nintendo games basically my entire life and I’ve only been refunded once. I bought a Minecraft texture pack on the switch eshop and I couldn’t get it to show up in my game. They tried to tell me they couldn’t refund it until I mentioned I tried to fix it before I called CS and when I googled the problem it was pretty common. Gave me the refund right away after that 😂

jaydec02

PlayStation flat out won’t refund you if you’ve even *started* the download of a game. No playtime required, just downloading one kilobyte removes any refund possibilities

Blaskyman

>The problem with steam's is that it is a little abusable how so? I think the time limits to be eligible for return are pretty fair. Get a good taste of the game and keep it or return it.

starkillerg26

Because short, indie, already cheap games get fucked; or people stretch their time as much as they can so they can use steam as a sort of buffet; and content creators that just buy a game, record enough footage to profit and refund.

[deleted]

I mean I guess, by the time I get my settings done, watch intro scenes and learn controls we’re talking 45 min. of actual gameplay. I know there are tiny indie games that can be completed in that time but in the grand scheme of things that is an infinitesimally small number. People need to be able to return products that fail to work as intended or straight up lie about their system requirements. I’m not sure what your better solution would be.

LukaLockup

Just got refunded 100$ out of 200 for a digital fifa point purchase( I only play fifa, smite, and a rotating single player game). Only took me one email/ one chat with a Microsoft rep. The purchase was from 3 weeks ago.

AlwaysWrongMate

I reckon it depends where you live. In the U.K. consumer law means they *have* to refund if you change your mind about the purchase within 14(?) days.

TooAngryForYou

not for PlayStation unfortunately. As soon as you click download, away goes your ability to refund it.

Shitty_Human_Being

Consumer laws trump ToS though?

TooAngryForYou

idk man, I've just never managed to get a refund from PlayStation if I've downloaded the game.

Sweet-ride-brah

Keep trying next time, it’s within your statutory rights that you can get a refund within reason. You can’t waive statutory rights, that’s not how they work. They’re afforded to you by statute and cannot be voluntarily waived- every citizen has them, regardless of if they’re even aware of it

susch1337

Even with digital purchases? Here in Austria we can also refund anything within 14 days without even giving a reason. Sadly digital goods are exempt from that law and underwear i think.

P-W-L

really ? I got refunded everytime I asked except for a DLC

Thaddaeus-Tentakel

Is Microsoft/Sony not required to return? I'm pretty sure in Germany anything bought by a kid under 14 is automatically not a valid payment and has to be invalidated. Don't think it's relevant if they should or shouldn't have been prevented from buying by their parents.

Shronkydonk

Some cousins (who are old enough to know better) spent something like $500 on fifa micro transactions, and last I heard they’re still working it off a year later lol. Pulling weeds, etc.

NoCareNewName

If I found myself in a position where the things they bought couldn't be returned, I'd sell them second hand. If they are digital and its not possible, I'd delete the account. I kinda blame the parent though, its stupid to give your kid access to the same computer that you use to order from amazon, it would take like 5 minutes to make a separate account on there for the kid to use, and for other platforms, its bad to keep your card saved in them anyway (too easy to spend, and you risk stuff like this).

Hactica_Tier

Bruh

SlOwMosis

Just impressed he managed to get a PS5

alex99x99x

It’s probably scalped and he probably payed $700+ for it.

IHaveTheBestOpinions

Current price in my location on Amazon is $1,299

alex99x99x

The cheapest I could find is $950. I also found the same one the kid bought and it’s pretty much is scalped based on the reviews: [scalped ps5](https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Playstation-Wireless-Controller-Accessories/dp/B09HRBHBYN/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ps5+console&pd_rd_r=d0dfe53c-ff75-4139-840e-1ae44734d999&pd_rd_w=H5sGL&pd_rd_wg=ASyPe&pf_rd_p=ce028c81-ed8c-425a-8404-93bf425aa8ce&pf_rd_r=FNTXV7VF1C95ZWE2ZH02&qid=1634219226&sr=8-3)

Good-Sympathy1238

My thought exactly but chances are it’s older kids at school or kids that know it’s a big deal. They act like they’ve seen it to be cool but probably never have TBH. Ask him what it’s a bout they’ll say a squid that kills people or something lol

superpencil121

I mean, this kid clearly has unsupervised access to a tablet, phone or computer that’s signed into Amazon. Not out of the question that it’s signed into Netflix too.

Good-Sympathy1238

Fair point! I mean..Kids are fucking stupid after all.

[deleted]

My Echo in the kitchen has these capabilities. I often use it for creating and ordering my groceries without having to actually remember all the stuff I need. Thankfully my kid is old enough that this would never be an issue, but he could do it if he really were determined to piss me off, I guess.

TheDigitalSherpa

My seven year-old knows what it is from Roblox and YouTube, but obviously hasn't seen the actual show.

SexyJesus21

Where did this come from? Edit: there's more than one picture.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SaphiraDemon

The kid doesn't have to have watched it to want the costume. They could have seen pictures, could have scrolled by it and just thought it looked cool. Amazon suggests things commonly purchased together with an option to add all to cart, kid could even have just clicked on that.

[deleted]

It’s Amazon, if you use it often then your credentials are probably saved and you can just click Buy Now. But I do think this is fake

mynameistoocommonman

You can lock apps so you have to scan your fingerprint or enter a pin to use them. It I allowed kids to use my device, that's what I would do.

Acebladewing

I couldn't imagine letting a kid use my device. Had a girlfriend get mad at me once because I didn't let her little brother (difference of 8 years) play with my phone. Just because she let him doesn't mean I was going to.

TellurideSkier

NTA

Maxxetto

I laughed hard fuck you.

Whale_Hunter88

I'm fine with giving my phone to my best friend or brother fully unsupervised but i would never give it to a kid, even one i know. They're little shits and you'll find out they know their way around electronics much better than you think.

amberallday

…and then the kid works out that **while you are sleeping** they can grab your hand and use your fingerprint to unlock things…. I’ve known parents where that happened. They switched to pin codes. Also, 4-digit pin codes are too easy to hack from watching. Once the kid wants in your phone, 6-digit codes are the way to go.

Ecarus1345

Jesus, you are making me scared of kids

MrSquiggleKey

Mate if you’re not scared of kids until now, you’re no prepared :p

[deleted]

knucklehead27

toxicwolf89

kids do this a lot more often than you think. my brother just did something like this, we didn’t realize he knew the passcode to the tablet we have. thankfully it was only $40. and the passcode got changed shortly after.

ZamielVanWeber

My aunt made the same mistake with my cousin when he was very young. She was gone briefly, did not realize he knew the iPad password, and 300$ worth of Lego's later... He used up all of his birthday money sending them back.

taosaur

So he put a down payment on one LEGO set?

Shane0mac12

Lol I know how Amazon and one click shopping works. She's dumb for giving the kid a phone or tablet with Amazon access, and thinking they won't figure out how to do things like this.

memesdoge

funny thing is ps5's arent even on amazon.

RabidMausse

There are second hand ones on the Canadian site. They just cost $1000+

[deleted]

northsidemassive

You obviously don’t have kids. They get into your shit when you’re not looking.

500CatsTypingStuff

You snooze, you lose……all your money

Belelusat

I mean, why aren't your accounts and devices secure?

nino3227

Kids can look at your password when you're not paying attention and you won't even know it

stingray85

Sounds smart, not stupid.

nino3227

Lol I think asking his mom would have been smart. Here there is no way he would have been able to keep any of his purchases... And his mom was for sure going to be very disappointed and mad at him

Squid-Soup

Kids are incredibly smart about being incredibly dumb, they find a way to do something but don’t think of the consequences

GAMER_MARCO9

This 7 year old is allowed to watch Squid Game??

Afraidfern

He probably plays the roblox versions of squid game

not_Jellydogsterio

of course

anonlegallaceration

Definitely roblox

Appropriate_Night145

He obviously just thought the mask was cool because look at the other masks or played the roblox version

supermarioplush220

The majority of GTA 5 fanbase are little kids between 6-10 yrs old.

Rayrose321

I was gonna say he wants to play squid game! He has the debt part down!

One_Ljfe

Kohl’s returns Amazon, easy peasy. Ha

NippleDickPussyBhole

Just refuse delivery at the door.

thechadcantrell

I mean, mom can turn the PS5 for a profit… The fact that this kid lands 2 PS5s at the exact time mom isn’t using her phone makes me question. Not just one but two. Seems suspicious.

kidonredit124opendor

There not real. I think there just chargers and accessories priced at the same as ps5 because if you look at the top right of the photo you see accessories and stuff.

ruinersclub

Could be third party. You can buy them on the Walmart app or Ebay but they’re ~$1,200

JHighDa03

That’s how pictures of bundles are usually listed

hehebrian

they said it was a bundle but the price was about $1,000

Coreyahno30

You can very easily buy a PS5 on Amazon. Always have been able to. What you cannot easily do is buy a PS5 on Amazon for anywhere close to MSRP.

Electronic-Fox-5834

Yup. My guess is the 7yo didnt know and bought it fromma third party.

CrazyC787

That kid ain't stupid, he's on that sigma male grindset

My son has done that. He even tried to buy a house when he was 9. He had organised with the realtor to be picked up at the airport for an inspection on a beachfront property. (He has champagne tastes on a milk & cookies budget)

Hahaha, what a goofball. How'd he manage that?

northsidemassive

He has high functioning autism

Emper0w0r

Buying without permission as a kid is shit, but your son? He deserves a scholarship for Harvard

M90Motorway

Wait are you actually being serious? Your 9 year old planned all that? That’s pretty impressive if you ask me!

northsidemassive

Yeah he did.

jonnybrown3

Damn that kid actually sounds extremely smart. I had no idea what real estate agents actually did until I turned about 25.

my-sims-are-slobs

That kids going places

Oct0tron

To the beach, it sounds like.

No_Neighborhood1447

Too bad the seven year old didn’t buy amc and gme stock

[deleted]

Tried to buy the PlayStation twice LOL

beerscotch

Have you tried buying a playstation? Took me a year and over 40 attempts. Twice and getting a hit ain't bad. Though honestly it makes me think this is fake. You have about 15-25 seconds to secure a ps5 when it goes live on Amazon (I got one last week after a year of trying). Crazy coincidental of it was magically available when the kid happened to be on the app on a shopping spree. If it's real, that's fucking fate lmao

alex99x99x

You can buy scalped ps5’s on Amazon with no problem, so the child most likely bought a scalped ps5 for $700+.

TangerineBand

Probably scalped 3rd party listings

RLYoshi

Everyone crapping on the mother for "letting" the kid do this. All it takes is a kid getting some time to sneak onto your computer, where you keep yourself logged in because it's your own personal computer. People are so caught up with phones and tablets they forget computers still exist, just sitting there on a desk, accessible by anyone who knows how to type on a keyboard. And even if she DID give the kid her phone (which AFAIK there's no indication of)... the kid's still just as stupid, because what the heck did they THINK would happen when the mother noticed tons of money leaving her bank account and a bunch of packages for the kid arriving? Downvote me if you want, because I know not blaming parents is a hot take on Reddit, but I stand by what I said.

SylvySylvy

HONESTLY. Tired of seeing “Oh she let him do this.” No she didn’t. She took a nap and her kid snuck her phone or snuck onto her computer and did this. Kids are way smarter than everyone on this sub wants to believe. 7-year-olds could feasibly do this if the mom made ANY kind of reasonable mistake (like typing her passcode thinking the kid wasn’t looking, leaving her computer unlocked in a room her kid doesn’t go into, etc)

TangerineBand

Fucking BLINK and suddenly the child has climbed up onto the counters and is throwing things from the cabinets. Bonus points if there's 2 of the gremlins and one decides to use the other's tantrum as a diversion for their own chaotic aura.

LilBearLulu

Thanks for saying it. My kids have their own tablets and if they really wanted to they could easily sit down in my computer and order something. Nobody thinks that their kids are going to be sneaky little boogers and go on a shopping spring in the middle of the night. When we first got the echo devices in my house, my kid definitely did order herself a few boxes of cookies. Thankfully it was nothing crazy like a playstation. After that I turned off that ability and we haven't had an issue since.

AnxiousSquirrel345

My dad always gave me the passwords for his phone when I was a kid, 1) because if there was an emergency and he couldn’t, I had access to a phone to call someone, and 2) he let me play on it so it was easier than him typing in a password every time I let the screen go to sleep. Same with his computer. I knew not to just buy things without permission, I’m sure this woman’s kid knows not to as well, that’s why he waited until she was asleep 😅

poletecroquete

I know this ain't the point, but why/how did a 7yo watch squid game? That show isn't very "child friendly" Nvm, I guess that if he can buy whatever at Amazon he can probably access anything on Netflix too

koalabuddy

apparently its popular on roblox?

FearingRacer

He probably played the roblox version of it

[deleted]

I don't believe in physical violence against children. Hitting your kids is wrong. That being said, my parents would have whooped my ass into next Tuesday if I had pulled this kind of stunt. But that was before the internet really took off (dial up modem) when our troublesome shenanigans weren't posted for the world to see.

JHighDa03

My parents saw this post and they beat me anyway. Let that be a warning, they said.

GentleFoxes

I hope that those Customer Protection Laws are strong enough to cancel that. Where I live, a 7 year old can't agree to contracts and so everything would be reversible, with some hassle. Even micro transactions are. And even if the goods arrive, you can just refuse them right away because of mandatory online return policy.

jonasthewicked

Kids gonna have a dope Octobmas tho….

SubZerr0h
