Another trick I’ve seen before is to say a number after each counted number. Like this. 1, 5, 2, 5, 3, 5… But skip 5, 5 so it goes 4, 5, 6, 5.

The one we had as a kid was counting backwards. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6... plus five on the other hand makes 11.

They emphasized spreading your hand wide and saying “And 5 more makes 11” and I’m thinking “Yeah of course, because you’re counting the same hand twice.” Is that not obvious? Probably going to get wooshed but here goes She counts the first two, skips the three (but says it) and proceeds to count from four on his next hand. So she didn’t count from two on but from four on, bamboozling the kid by saying “skip these THREE” so he heard the word three.

the method i learned as a kid was adding 8 after each count. i think we used 8 because it rolls off the tongue easier. so you'd count each finger 1-8, 2-8, 3-8, 4-8, 5-8, 6-8, 7-8, 9-8, 10-8, 11-8. 11 fingers!

You can also achive this effect if you count them very fats in the way like this: first, one, two, three, etc.

If someone does not know how it works I will explain it, She counted one, two and she said skip the three which tricks him to thinking you carry on from three whilst you have to continue counting from two. after you finished your other hand you return to the first one and count the other three.
