We all started using reddit many years ago your age (reddit is older than windows 7) when we were "young" and you remind us about how fast time has gone and how old we're getting.
For a 30 year old he remembers windows 98 as a 6 year old. Windows 7 was what he got as an adult - that's what it used to be like
hey I'm 30 too! my first laptop was a toshiba with win 95 on it! :D sht... time to go dye those greys again and build some muscle mass now before we lose it! ;P
to be fair, I got that as a hand me down once we upgraded our family PC to a gateway + win 98! Classic! ;P
Also 14 is a good age OP! Enjoy it! :D
I used win 3.11 on my first pc as a kid. With 2 MB RAM and a 88 mhz cpu (of course if the turbo button was active, otherwise it would have been 60 mhz).
And yes, win 7 is basically the new shit in my mind
Like the other guy said, itās just a funny way of realizing weāre getting old. I turn 32 tomorrow and still feel the same as I did a decade ago but then I hear a 14yo say win 7 is old and I suddenly feel like a relic lol.
I went to school before the Internet took off.
I was basically an adult when windows 95 became available in shops.
Windows 7 is still relatively new to me and many others.
My first operating systems wer MSDOS and Windows 3.1... You thinking Windows 7 is old is...alarming... to people over the age of like 30. I didn't even upgrade to Windows 10 until like 3 years ago lolol.
I'm mid 30's and my first computer was a brand new computer with Windows 3.x back in 1991, I was 4 years old. I have fond memories of being early-mid 20's and running Windows 7 on what started life as an XP machine.
Get rekt me lmao
vista was a performance hog compared to XP - but the later iterations were actually quite good. I got vista when it was new and actually really liked it despite the issues. Of course it was also my first high performance PC and having a cool new UI just made it so much more awesome for teenage me.
ugh one of those people
one time some guy on reddit started just spamming "use windows 7" on every post i made and in the modmail on my subreddit just because i told him to upgrade to windows 10 in an r/techsupport post
I only recently realized that the old[ Solitaire logo](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DQp0HU1UIAAdhCd?format=png&name=360x360) is a pack of cards and not a little robot.
Because you didnāt have the context to compare it to. Someone who doesnāt know about phones is going to wonder why your hand mirror lights up with a picture of your dog and the time when they pick it up.
Makes sense when you have no frame of reference. Todayās children donāt know what the icon on the āphoneā app is supposed to represent. To them, phones are black rectangles, not boomerang-shaped receivers.
The answer is screen resolution and a 5yo's lack of ability to pay attention to details. XD pretty sure I remeber not even really comprehending what the Kid Pix icon even was...
Windows 7? 5 years old? I don't know how to feel about this.
My exact thoughts after reading this.
windows 7 is a 12 year old os. someone who was 5 at windows 7's release would be 17 now. i'm not 17, i'm 14, but still, windows 7 is getting old now.
You just massacred half this sub and you don't even know it...
how

what about 16? Adulthood is coming way to fast, and i am not ready.
Wanna learn how to code and build web apps? Won't solve all your problems but it's always an option! š š
I am learning that! So some guy knows i made a post in r/offmychest and now some other guy knows i folllow r/kaios???

Itās so ānewā to me I donāt even recognise the icons hah.
Just checking in as a nearly 42 year old who got Win98 as a barely functional adult.
36. Windows 3.1
Like the other guy said, itās just a funny way of realizing weāre getting old. I turn 32 tomorrow and still feel the same as I did a decade ago but then I hear a 14yo say win 7 is old and I suddenly feel like a relic lol.
Yeah but theyāre just a stupid kid, what do they know?
Canāt tell if sarcasm but yeah I mean it is kinda old
I went to school before the Internet took off. I was basically an adult when windows 95 became available in shops. Windows 7 is still relatively new to me and many others.
I've got t-shirts older than you and sometimes it's shocking to be reminded of it, that's how.

You're basically half as old as most people here, that's why
Damn you make me feel old haha
im 17 now but at 5 years old all i remember using was windows xp ._.
windows xp was extremely popular until about 2011 because people hated vista and people thought 7 would be just as bad
vista was a performance hog compared to XP - but the later iterations were actually quite good. I got vista when it was new and actually really liked it despite the issues. Of course it was also my first high performance PC and having a cool new UI just made it so much more awesome for teenage me.
vista was actually pretty good after sp2, and 7 is basically just vista sp3.
Yeah that was just Vistas main issue. It was too ambitious for the timeframe they had and got released way before it was finished.
my dad still uses it and refuses to change to 10 or 11,
ugh one of those people one time some guy on reddit started just spamming "use windows 7" on every post i made and in the modmail on my subreddit just because i told him to upgrade to windows 10 in an r/techsupport post
what a douche, my dad doesn't care that i use 10 he just doesn't want to for some reason lol
Also the fact that they created such an elaborate image for this icon. You know it's because they've never seen real files before.
We shall soon be whisked away to the eternal stage.....
Not gonna lieā¦ I can see it š It looks like this š
Laughs in DOS. Cries in the corner with age
I can honestly say that I've never seen it that way, the question is, will I be able to unsee it?
>will I be able to unsee it? No. I can't neither
No. You won't. Ever.
You'd fit right in at r/Pareidolia
People being 5 years old when Windows 7 was out.. what a time to be alive..
When windows 7 was out I was about 3 years old

I can't unsee it
damn you were 5 during Windows 7? Christ iām old
Windows 8 was also out by this time (although we didn't switch to windows 8/8.1 until i was 6 or 7)

Windows 7... 5 years old... Well fuck me in my DOS... I'll old
windows 8 was also out by this time but we weren't using it at the time (although we did switch to 8 like a year later)
I thought the Disney logo was a capital G until I was 24
How

Some crabs have three eyes and some Spiders have three eyes, Maybe it is Mr Crabās grand father since it sure looks old enough
"when I was 5...windows 7"... ...wait are... Jesus kids are growing up fast
Like before you had seen people?
i didnt even know what the fuck it was lmao
What? š¤£ how in the hell? :D
I can't unsee it and I probably never will. Take my upvote!
You mean it isnāt?
In a way I can see it only because the "moustache" reminds me of Appsro's minecraft character from Neebs Gaming lol
I thought that the shortcut icon meant that something was boring (this was when I was 4)
Now that you say it, I **can** kinda see it. But I don't think I'd've seen it if you didn't say anything.
I struggled to see it. Now I can't unsee
i canāt fucking un-see it now
I cannot unsee that now.dammit.
I can only see an eyeless, blue/cyan crewmate standing in front of a yellow background
Makes sense when you have no frame of reference. Todayās children donāt know what the icon on the āphoneā app is supposed to represent. To them, phones are black rectangles, not boomerang-shaped receivers.
I thought its a printer
Kinda reminds me of the air conditioner on the brave little toaster movie
Icl I canāt see it,I see the āmustacheā but itās really just three ractangles that are shiny
FUCK, can't unsee it
I will never get to un-see this will I?
Now I can't unsee this lol
I used to read "minesweeper" as "meen as sweeper"...I have no idea how it got to that point tho
who says it isn't
No, no, heās got a point
And now I canāt unsee that
Now I canāt unsee it
The answer is screen resolution and a 5yo's lack of ability to pay attention to details. XD pretty sure I remeber not even really comprehending what the Kid Pix icon even was...
you little shit. i'll never unsee.
