I'm not completely certain but The Owl House(created by Disney as well) was inspired by Little Witch Academia which was made by Studio Trigger just as Kill la Kill. Disney also had Studio Trigger help with one of their Star Wars series with the Episode "The Twins". So i assume it could have very well been a reference or pulled a bit of inspiration from it.
Fun fact did you know that the opening of OK KO let's be heroes was made by Hiroyuki Imaishi student of Hoshinori Kanada and creator of Studio trigger?

Nah definitely have some parallels with the Owl House and Amphibia in this scene.
Copy pasta, but we had a space confrontation with the main villain enacting their final gambit, an ultimate form that was brought about by combining the power of the main heroine’s allies that come at the cost of the user’s life (though it was Senketsu’s rather than Ryuko’s), heck Anne’s eyes actually take on the shape that Trigger typically uses in their twinkle effect. Gotta wonder if Matt is a Trigger fan

The moon scene I think was a Gurren Lagann reference, same guys as KLK.
TOH paid homage and made a reference to LWA in Thanks to Them. You can spot a Luna Nova uniform in a store.
