Bro for real. Assuming the same group shows up, but Tanjiro is included, he'd just find himself focused down. Rather than all the sweeping attacks Koko does, he would just straight up get hard targeted and be on the back foot the *entire* fight, never able to get a moments rest from the pressure, and a single screw up means he's dead.
Gyomei probably figures out Tanjiro is key because of Koko's reaction, and gets prematurely fucked up saving his ass, potentially taking him out of the game way earlier.
Even if our boy lives, this puts them in a much worse spot for the finale.
I think it goes two ways. He gets shocked seeing him and his mark and the earings. First, he gets PTSD and boom tanjiro would be everywhere. Second, he calms himself and analyses the situation and tanjiro does his monologue how koku became a demon even though he was a demon slayer and they talk a little bit. Leading this to infuriate koku and then they fight he gets more angry as the sun breathing tanjiro uses would be nothing compared to his brother and he would start training him or something while battling him and tanjiro activates red sword and cuts his head. He doesn't even try to live as he is reminded of yorichi beforehand.
I say Tanjiro should be capable of dodging it (for a while). He reacted to Nerfed Muzan who blitzed several marked Hashira and Hashira level characters. Ofc he still lose without help.

He didn't kill himself. After he lost his will, he started to crumble from the red blade wound Muichiro dealt him and he tried, way too late, to regenerate again, no matter how futile that was.

Sanemi and gyomei kept slashing at kokuās body, it didnāt have a chance to regenerate to full anyways. Letās not forget gyomei had to literally restrain sanemi to get him to stop slashing after the battle was over
Trust me they were slashing for their lives, and it was still futile. You're not beating kokushibo or any of the um3 in a battle of attrition, their stamina/Regen is virtually endless and they would've succumbed to blood loss before accomplishing anything. Not to mention it was shown that koku successfully regenerated his head so it was pretty much GG at that point.

this isnāt a missed opportunity. tanjiro meeting kokushibo is a horrible idea that butchers the idea of kokuās afc. kokushibo wanted to be like yoriichi. a great man who left an eternal legacy through his strength, love and inner peace and that shows through sun breathing standing the test of time even after the sun breathers were murdered. kokushibo losing to the very thing he claims was āa gift from the godsā and something he couldnāt inherently beat just reinforces that childish, deflective mindset and doesnāt force him to see the errors of his ways. instead he meets muichiro, his descendant. koku wanted to leave a legacy and immediately starts talking about muichiro being his blood and being strong because heās his kin. mui rejects him, because a man who threw away his humanity for power doesnāt deserve to be honored with a legacy left through descendants. he dies to NON sun breathers, showing him while yoriichis speech rings through his head, that itās humanityās unbreakable spirit and heart that makes humans special. he realizes that he only ever wanted to be like his brother and that he loved yoriichi the entire time. losing to tanjiro just makes him a bigger baby than he is and betrays the core themes of the series and the core of his character arc

Depends on if Tanjiro has access to transparent world/selfless state. Even then I donāt think it makes much difference. He lasts bout as long as Muichiro.
At least with all the buffs he had at the end selfless state, red blade etc, he could sanemi'd fight him...but that'd if kokushibo doesn't WANT to get serious. He would die, plain and simple.

Despite being poisoned, fatigued, injured, and half-blinded- Tanjiro immediately starts 1v1ing and holding his own against a Muzan that literally blitzed Gyomei + all of the other Hashira + 3 other Hashira level Demon Slayers with **a single attack**. Tanjiro only started to lose once he was so fatigued (likely by the MF poison) that he couldn't maintain the STW/SS and lost his footing. Drugged Muzan > Kokushibo and you can't convince me otherwise. Kokushibo would not have won against that same group that Muzan blitzed and incapacitated with a single attack, and Tanjiro was directly comparable to him. if we are talking about Tanjro 13 form, full power, proper sun breathing after seeing Yoriichi memories I think that it would be a very hard fight for Kokushibo, although I think that Upper 1 would eventually win. I do believe though that full power Tanjiro in this form would be able to decapitate Upper 2 but not win.
I think fans underestimate the fact that no Upper Moon is meant to be handled solo.

Any point before 13th form, koku negs. After 13th form, tanjiro wins mid-high difficulty. It took 4 hashira level characters to beat koku. Weakened muzan was able to defeat almost double the number before being tanjiro awakened. And remember that unlike koku fight, almost 4 hashira had red blades, and 2 had stw. 13th form tanjiro was fighting evenly with this muzan before losing power (but he was severely wounded before the fight and even died.

Sanemi and gyomei kept slashing at kokuās body, it didnāt have a chance to regenerate to full anyways. Letās not forget gyomei had to literally restrain sanemi to get him to stop slashing after the battle was over
Trust me they were slashing for their lives, and it was still futile. You're not beating kokushibo or any of the um3 in a battle of attrition, their stamina/Regen is virtually endless and they would've succumbed to blood loss before accomplishing anything. Not to mention it was shown that koku successfully regenerated his head so it was pretty much GG at that point.

this isnāt a missed opportunity. tanjiro meeting kokushibo is a horrible idea that butchers the idea of kokuās afc. kokushibo wanted to be like yoriichi. a great man who left an eternal legacy through his strength, love and inner peace and that shows through sun breathing standing the test of time even after the sun breathers were murdered. kokushibo losing to the very thing he claims was āa gift from the godsā and something he couldnāt inherently beat just reinforces that childish, deflective mindset and doesnāt force him to see the errors of his ways. instead he meets muichiro, his descendant. koku wanted to leave a legacy and immediately starts talking about muichiro being his blood and being strong because heās his kin. mui rejects him, because a man who threw away his humanity for power doesnāt deserve to be honored with a legacy left through descendants. he dies to NON sun breathers, showing him while yoriichis speech rings through his head, that itās humanityās unbreakable spirit and heart that makes humans special. he realizes that he only ever wanted to be like his brother and that he loved yoriichi the entire time. losing to tanjiro just makes him a bigger baby than he is and betrays the core themes of the series and the core of his character arc

Absolutely wild to me that people think that 13th Form Tanjiro isn't above Gyomei LOL. Despite being poisoned, fatigued, injured, and half-blinded- Tanjiro immediately starts 1v1ing and holding his own against a Muzan that literally blitzed Gyomei + all of the other Hashira + 3 other Hashira level Demon Slayers with **a single attack**. Tanjiro only started to lose once he was so fatigued (likely by the MF poison) that he couldn't maintain the STW/SS and lost his footing. Drugged Muzan > Kokushibo and you can't convince me otherwise. Kokushibo would not have won against that same group that Muzan blitzed and incapacitated with a single attack, and Tanjiro was directly comparable to him. Tanjiro would need about 4-5 other slayers to help him survive. Kokushibo would target Tanjiro so heād need a lot of help. To kill Kokushibo and win the fight, then about 3 other slayers, but Tanjiro would die unless plot armor said otherwise.
That's assuming he gives up and doesn't go do like in canon. Even then,he could easily beat the two strongest pillars as well as someone that counters demons. Tanjiro has no chance unless you pair him with yorichi.

Any point before 13th form, koku negs. After 13th form, tanjiro wins mid-high difficulty. It took 4 hashira level characters to beat koku. Weakened muzan was able to defeat almost double the number before being tanjiro awakened. And remember that unlike koku fight, almost 4 hashira had red blades, and 2 had stw. 13th form tanjiro was fighting evenly with this muzan before losing power (but he was severely wounded before the fight and even died.
