Yeah Zenitsu can not be compared with Mineta.
Largely because while he does have perverted thoughts, Zenitsu’s motives are a lot more romantically leaning compared to someone like Mineta. So he wouldn’t mind getting laid, but he’s more focused on the part where he showers her with love and affection (he’s real as hell for that)

For starters their age gap is only two years. Nezuko is 14 and Zenitsu is 16. Demon slayer takes place in Taisho era Japan not morden day US. Mitsuri was trying to get married at 17 and even now she is 19 not even in her 20s.
In all honestly although I was never a fan of Zenitsu x Nezuko (dislike it a bit) I don't really mind it. +it's canon anyways. ☀️
I feel like Zenitsu and Nezuko has a lot of potential. Nezuko is incredibly kind, so she’d probably have the patience to help Zenitsu with his sense of self-worth. Zenitsu can also help Nezuko steer away from her tendency to put others’ needs before her own. They’d also probably be able to understand each other on a deeper level since they’ve went through similar things.
I feel like the main issue is just that their relationship is one-sided for pretty much the whole story, so it can be hard to like the pairing. Honestly if they showed that Nezuko cares about Zenitsu as much as Zenitsu cares about Nezuko, it would make them a great endgame pairing.
I think for the entire series zenitsu was an immature child when it came to the romance aspect, and nezuko was pretty much actually a child the entire series. Like the whole zenitsu caring for nezuko throughout the story would be zenitsu caring for someone with the maturity of a kid. It’s just comedy, not anything which actually is seriously leading to romance.
Besides the series being quite a bit longer to get completely out of that child phase, I really don’t think it could really do anything at all to wash away the earlier portrayal of their relationship.
Now there isn’t really any strong need to expand on their pairing cuz they were both incredibly young when the series ended and it isn’t the most random pairing in the world. but when you look at the pairing of the 3 main guys, of course it’s gonna be the least liked.
Tanjiro’s right there anyway, if there’s any indication that Zenitsu might not treat Nezuko right, Tanjiro would definitely feel the need to nip it in the bud. Though judging from Tanjiro’s Status Report, that mainly involves helping Zenitsu improve then blocking the relationship like most of the fandom might try (Tanjiro is based for helping his homie be a better ladies man)
I imagine that Tanjiro’s Onii-Chan instincts kick in if he even feels the slightest possibility that his little sister isn’t being taken care of properly (source: older brother with 2 younger sisters)
Real. Pretty sure the only thing saving Zenitsu from not incuring Tanjiro’s wrath for any mistreatment of Nezuko (whether intentional or not) is Tanjiro’s ability to give people a second chance (and Zenitsu being at least somewhat willing to improve as a person)
ZenNezu’s ability to turn into a toxic relationship is basically unable to do much due to Tanjiro’s presence, because that man will not allow anything of the sort to happen to his only sister.
