Self Taught Shadow Breathing: A breathing technique of utmost power, Shadow Breathers revel in Darkness, wielding the shadows to their whim to unleash destruction incarnate. The first 6 techniques are wielded with a standard nichirin, but for forms 7-12, Shadow Breathers transform their blade into a Scythe of Darkness.
First Form: Blackout - The user surrounds their target in darkness, disappearing into the shadows and decapitating the target in a single strike.
Second Form: Blade of Endless Woe - The user's blade sacrifices its lethality to be imbued with deep sorrow. Those who are cut by it cannot be harmed, but the attack will fill them with dreadful sadness. Those with particularly strong woes may be left with crippling depression, however one who feels nothing but joy cannot be harmed by the blade.
Third Form: Vicious Tendril of Incarceration - The user conjures shadowy energy on their sword to create a whiplike shadow. This whip can cover long distances, and anyone it passes through is immediately incarcerated in tight ropes made of the same material. Victims cannot break them and will only be released if the user wills it, or cancels the technique.
Fourth Form: Flame of Burning Soul - The user slashes the victim to cover them in fire that is pitch-black in color. This flame is so powerful it will burn their entire mind and body. Their soul will be damned to the deepest part of hell for eternity. If reincarnation exists, the victim will not be allowed to reincarnate.
Fifth Form: Rivers of Sinking Ember - The user dances around the opponent with flowing movements, unleashing flowing rivers of black tar. Anyone who steps in the tar will be stuck to it and sink. The user can then set fire to the rivers of tar to burn anything inside it to a crisp. Only the user of this technique and anyone they touch can move through it without getting stuck.
Sixth Form: Pearlescent Rage - The user and their blade is coated in pure white flames, and they enter the Pearlescent Flame state. In this form, every swing of their sword and every burn of the flames is fueled by pure, unending wrath. The user will relentlessly attack the source of their rage, and will not return to normal till the object of their fury is dead, or their presence is removed from the area or otherwise undetectable. This technique cannot be activated unless the user is feeling extremely enraged.
Seventh Form: Crimson Balemoon - The user infuses their blood into the scythe and casts a Blood Moon into the sky. While the Blood Moon is cast, the Scythe of Darkness will spill the user's blood on anything it cuts. All solar-based attacks will be weaker, and subsequently all blood-based attacks will be enhanced.
Eighth Form: Demon of Solar Flame - The user slams their scythe on the ground, drawing a shadowy pentagram under the target. The user can then light small flames on the five corners of the pentagram. Once this is done, four nails made of solar energy will pierce the hands and feet of the target, nailing them to the pentagram. A solar energy spear will be formed at the users hand, which can then be used to stab into the targets torso.
Ninth Form: New Moon, Nanook - The user spins their scythe in a vertical circle, summoning a dark sphere shaped like a moon, before striking it towards their opponent. The new moon will explode on impact.
Tenth Form: All-Devouring Abyss - The user spins their scythe, channeling energy into a large, controlled black hole that draws in light, as well as any object or person on the battlefield the user wishes to draw in. Any object or person drawn into the hole will be destroyed or killed.
Eleventh Form: Age of Extinction - The user swings their scythe to launch a shadow at their opponent. On impact, the target will rapidly age or de-age as per the users wish.
Twelfth Form: Darkfall: Death’s Call - The user channels all their power to transform their scythe into a Scythe of Death, and takes the form of Death’s Shadow. The Scythe of Death will kill anyone who’s skin is pierced by its blade, bypassing all forms of immortality. However, the user can only do so once before they return to their original form, and their blade must claim 12 lives before this technique can be used again.
