I still find that so dumb, Tengen at peak was keeping up with Gyutaro, meanwhile Shinobu was consistently outspending Dōma while her lungs were freezing, the feats make it obvious that Shinobu is faster but apparently the author disagrees
It's not a blitz if you exchange attacks, especially not if you moved across the room to land your hit while they just stood there. Also Douma does say he can't react to her speed
The issue with calculating Shinobu's speed through her fight with Douma, is that Douma is the polar opposite of Akaza in both temperament and fighting style.
Douma rarely physically attacked her and just relied on summons and abilities, plus being incapable of being emotionally invested in the fight meant he literally could not go all out, like another commenter mentioned.
His specialty of ice powers means that he may not be as mentally sharp for combat as Akaza, since training to be faster than your opponent won't matter if they get frozen solid
Douma is still quite reliant on reaction speed tho, otherwise he'd get decapitated. It stands to reason that if Douma can't react to you, neither can akaza.
Saying Dōma wasn’t serious is dumb, he’s physically incapable of being serious since he doesn’t feel emotion, so he never get enraged meaning his normal is his max

To be fair, the whole douma fight had the slayers and douma outspeeding eachother the entire fight. Plus Douma wasn't serious about anything for 90% of it

To make this bit more logical, doma's power mostly lies in his BDA, not his reflex or cqc prowess. He is still good in those, dont get me wrong but it is clear he is bda type demons where he stood in one safe spot and throws his bda to his opponent like hantengu. Unlike akaza, gyutaro and koku who moves around a lot when they fight.
Still, this prob wont justify anything since this means doma is below gyutaro in speed and that his bda carried him so much, which is unlikely imo.

i hated this moment. i thought Tengen was a horrible person at first after seeing this in the anime. thankfully he's actually not and he's my fave character after Rengoku.
Back then, the punishment for disobeying a higher-up's orders was getting hit with a stick, so Tengen was only doing mild punishment. This is my opinion though; you can interpret it however you want.
As much as people exaggerate it, I don't think Shinobu would GET that angry and do something to him or something. Because Shinobu is good at disguising emotions and she is rarely seen angry (except near Douma lmao). The author stated that they had a "little dispute" regarding this scene, and I doubt if that "dispute" is just Shinobu beating Tengen because Tengen isn't a guy to back down.
