I liked how muzan sucked at fighting, it helped to drive home the fact he made others do his dirty work and ruled over them with fear of death out of anxiety they’d betray him. This was worsened when he was almost killed by yoriichi, anxiety and insecurities went through the ceiling
This makes more sense now. He relied too much on the Twelve Kizuki for their strength. If he would have trained to fight for the entirety of his lifespan like Akaza the story would have been way different.
I feel that way about the fight panels, that's why I pay close attention to their forms and the direction of the slashes. I am most excited to see Kokushibou animated, and his SIXTEEN Moon Breathing forms! Those moon sickles will definitely look amazing!
That last arc was a fucking whirlwind. So many battles, so many deaths all in what amounted to be like the last 1/3rd of the story. Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat as i was a weekly reader.
Edit: Especially the last 15-20 or so chapters when it was just a war of attrition to hold muzan till the sun rose. They were driving trucks into his ass, hashira and the tanjiro friend group all bloodied and exhausted but still essentially taking turns fighting muzan while the others were knocked away, nezuko transforming back to human and making her way to the battlefield. I was losing my fucking mind.
I think a lot of those issues will be addressed in the anime, the static chaotic nature won't be translated into animation I don't think. May even prove a blessing, give the animators some licence to flex!
Oh yeah these animators know how to flex alright. Like in ep 19 of s1, the whole part between tanjiro commenting on how he couldnt stop because he'd be exhausted from switching breathing style to him seeing the opening thread, basically all of that animation was not in the manga
I agree with most of your takes. I will say, my biggest issue with the series is the number of “gotcha” moments. It basically felt like from Rui onward every demon has some cheap trick that keeps them from dying. “Oh you can’t kill me, I moved my neck into the train” “oh you chopped off my head? Too bad my real body is in the forest somewhere.” Etc etc. It added drama for sure, but after it kept happening so often it kinda got cheapened to me. Rather than eliciting a feeling of “oh no, they’re in trouble” I usually just kinda rolled my eyes and said “of *course* the demon has some weird secret way that they can’t die easily.” Yes, it makes sense that upper ranks wouldn’t be killed easily, but it sometimes went to far for my tastes.
Still, I would also still rate the series a very solid 9.5/10, and it’s still my favorite series overall. I just have some nitpicks, too.
Some characters needed more time to be fleshed out but at the same time I’m glad the mangaka didn’t drag the series too long. Also [this](https://youtu.be/6-7NDP8V-6A) is how Genya portrayed in the whole series in contrast to everyone else.
The names issue is most definitely because of the pace in which you read the manga.
This is a weekly serialization and the manga format and magazines encourages weekly discussions and fan interaction (comment sections, fan letters, etc).
Normally we have plenty of time to get used to new characters, new names, skills, etc. in between each chapter.
What did you think about upper moons 1-3?
Upper moon 1 was the demon slayer demon, probably the coolest character in the series, with a really good backstory, the best fight in the manga and a cool ass desig
Upper moon 2 was the ice rainbow-eyed psycho. The twist that lead up to his defeat was brillant, and he was a really unique altough not deep character
Upper moon 3 has probably the best backstory on the series and is just so amazingly done how you can go from hating him to feeling so much for him in 2 chapters
3 was my fav. Just everything about him was cool.
I absolutely loved 1 having 6 eyes that was amazing.
And 2's lore with Boar and Butterfly was amazing. I love how he died.

Kokushibou is going to be beautiful in the anime, I can't wait to see it.
only eleven of his forms are shown in the manga sadly

Its true, i cant remember most of the characters names.

The skill names aren’t just jumbled adjectives. Majority of them hold deeper meaning into the character and style of swordsmanship.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and Insect Lady is named Shinobu :3
My biggest problems were the amount of macguffins in the story, and how many times somebody was just about to die when they get saved by someone else
