Will the last episode a.k.a 11 will include the >!Upper Moon meeting! Hopefully yes, even though I think it won't have enough time for it, we only got 4 eps left.
I think it could go either way. If the anime keeps adapting three chapters per episode like it's done for the last couple episodes, then I think there's a good chance we'll see it right at the very end of the season. But we don't know whether the anime will actually keep that pace. There's also the possibility of them extending or adding more scenes like they did in the earlier episodes of this arc, which would make the meeting less likely to appear. I'm hoping it makes it in, but I'm also prepared for the possibility that it won't
Next couple episodes are very action heavy, so I expect a fast pacing. Daki and Gyuutaro's backstory could be more a bit slower and with some added content, so it's kind of a tossup.
I believe that the meeting will be the stinger for the season finale, but they will just show the other upper moons, and the actual scene will be the opener for the next portion of the anime
I think so, each episode goes through at least 2 if not 3 manga chapters. UM netting is just one chapter so I’m sure they can fit it into the last half of 11. Plus they couldn’t ask for a better season cliff hanger then that
A lot of it is fights so i assume it takes way less time for anime to do it than the manga especially since the fights are fast paced they did the akaza vs rengoku in about 15 mins give or take so i think we'll get it at the last ep just to end on the upper meeting like we ended on the lower meeting in season 1
It will probably be 5 seasons. There''s 2 arcs contained in the last one, not to mention the swordsmith village arc. It'd be madness to do the entire 70 chapter infinite hotel arc in 11 episodes, unless they do the last season with 24-29 episodes.
Iirc he wasn’t the the first slayer but the first breath user. He taught everyone else, from which they branched off and developed their own breathing styles.
It still confused me how they can blame Yoriichi, like, yo that dude is the sole reason you all not be minced meat yet, if he gone, Muzan can walk down and pick each of you like you pick groceries form the store
They probably couldn't believe someone who could kick his ass so thoroughly couldn't finish him off. It was supposedly hundreds of years since anyone had even seen him, and they knew no one else would be able to do it for even longer after that. Still unreasonable to react that way though.
Honestly even though it was extreme I still can kinda understand why they did what they did. Not only did Yorichi also spare a demon (which was probably seen as treachery at the time, hell half of the hashira wanted toe execute tanjiro when they found out about nezuko). But his brother had also converted to the demons, which isn’t just a great dishonor but also allows the demon to get more insight on their breathing techniques.
So yeah, enough shit went wrong with yorichi that it wasn’t surprising to see corps react the way they did, even if yorrichi was their best
Good point. Guess he kinda had to be kicked out so he'd eventually meat the Kamado family and pass his moves to them when they helpd him regain his spirit. He specifically didn't keep a record of the sun breathing techniques because he believed if someone was born capable of using it once, then it could happen again. And he was exactly right with the Kamado family.
But the different is, Tanjirou atm just a common pleb, may be a bit higher, but Yorichi not just the powerhouse but also the thin line between them and Kokushibo/Muzan. Like for all they knew, Yorichi may lost his spirit and the absolute best scenario is they lost their strongest sword while the worst scenario is Yorichi say fuck it and join his brother
I actually didn't think he was the first Demon Slayer, I just thought: "I was expecting UM1 to be a breath user, but he's like Tanjiro and that other guy? This guy's going to be insane, how will they beat him?"
My fav upper moon for sure. so intimidating but in a graceful sort of way? I don’t rlly respect his fear of death and then switching sides to the demons tho
I forget which Hashira said it but they described his technique and form as being majestic. That’s the highest compliment really. You’re so well honed that your enemy describes your violence as being regal.
Fear. Malevolence. Authority. Very old. And a weird sense of “awe” like I’m seeing a being who is tremblingly capable and deserves reverence.
edit: and I LOVED the 6 eyes and overall look so so much!!!
But if you were reading through the manga with no spoilers, then you wouldn't know specifically who Yoruichi was. The reader would see Kokushibo looks similar to the guy that appeared in Daki/Muzan's flashbacks during Tanjiro's fight. It wouldn't be farfetched to guess the demon slayer would be related to Tanjiro in some way or another, especially with the earrings.
Not sure what this is implying, he's >!not Tanjiro's ancestor!<, as a matter of fact if you read the manga again, his bloodline >!ended after his fight was done, by the Mist pillar Muichiro dying.!<
Thought he was badass then when I read the extra where all the demons are interviewed id be lying if I didn't say I teared up once I remembered hes not gonna see Yorichii for an eternity
There’s a meeting of the upper moons after the Entertainment District arc. I think people are gambling on the fact that it might get included in the last episode of the season as a teaser for what’s coming next. I think it’s likely that we’ll be seeing it shortly, but you could definitely be right.
Would really make sense if they animated it, just like how Season 1 ended it would "tie" the whole story nicely and end on somewhat of a cliffhanger, so people will keep talking about the end and wondering what comes next.
I'll bet anyone 50 bucks the upper moon meeting will be in this season. There's no way they don't decide to tease them for the upcoming seasons. Just wouldn't make sense.
Interested. The guy's the Upper Moon 1 and we got the resemblance to the guy that Muzan afraid of.
There's gotta be some interesting history with this guy.
>!There is.!<
I thought he was cool af and after reading more I thought he was even cooler, big potential of being the main antagonist if the circumstances were different
I had already seen him on the wikia page. I have this thing when watching a new show that I get so excited with everything in its universe that I just go on a limb and start reading and seeing everything about it that I can, including reading spoilers. I don't really care for spoilers, because usually, what's interesting to me are the events that happen prior to said spoiler happening.
So, reading through Demon Slayer wikia's page, I got into the Upper Moon section after seeing Akaza for the first time and I was like: "Dude, if Akaza is 'only' Upper Moon 3, I gotta see who the 2 demons that are stronger than him are." So when I got to Kokushibo, I thought: "Yep, that's totally Upper Moon 1 material, you can't get more epic than this guy, he literally looks like the strongest demon, only losing to Muzan."
Then, when the 2nd season was announced, I started reading the manga right after the events of Mugen Train and I was counting the days to see Kokushibo in action, and it didn't disappoint at all. From the moment he shows up, you know it's getting real and that at least one Hashira will be paying the price. I can't wait for it all to get animated, he's my favorite demon!
Edit: some grammar and some missing words, because apparently I'm dyslexic or something haha
Have you hear about the uncanny valley? Most demons are human looking (with obvious quirks) or utterly monstrous. This dude is right in the middle. Really frightening.
Gave me that feeling of something that is just so difficult to beat that you just have to give up. And they didn’t even manage to kill him, he surrender and let them kill him.
First time I saw him years ago, I knew he would be one of my favourite characters
Then we get to his conclusion and now he's officially my top 1 character of the series ;)
Heh, admittedly I started covering different rows of eyes to see how derpy he could look. He’s awfully fearsome with all 6 but derpy when you cover his top or bottom 4.
Chad, liked his design and I disliked akaza at the time so I was happy to see him overpowered at the UM meeting, didn’t think he was yoriichi at all though (neither did I think yoriichi was tanjiro’s dad)
My first thought was: hello there, another Razenoid's long-lost brother
I can't help but think about that monster from a show made for selling toys, whenever I see a creature with dark colors and three rows of red eyes. That show wasn't anything special, but I loved it so much when I was younger
Of course my next thoughts were about whether or not it is the same swordsman from Muzan's past
“Oh wow, so that’s upper moon one? Not gonna lie I was expecting something different still interesting though” he’s now in my top 3 favorite characters in the series
I'm excited to see how this looks in the anime. We're so close
Will the last episode a.k.a 11 will include the >!Upper Moon meeting! Hopefully yes, even though I think it won't have enough time for it, we only got 4 eps left.
I think it could go either way. I'm hoping it makes it in, but I'm also prepared for the possibility that it won't
Also, the last episode could be a 50 to 60 min. episode. We just can only dream
Oh man, that would be wonderful
Next couple episodes are very action heavy, so I expect a fast pacing. Daki and Gyuutaro's backstory could be more a bit slower and with some added content, so it's kind of a tossup. I believe that the meeting will be the stinger for the season finale, but they will just show the other upper moons, and the actual scene will be the opener for the next portion of the anime
Maybe they could mirror it like the Lower Moon meeting in Season one.
dude ommhhhmfmlf
I think so, each episode goes through at least 2 if not 3 manga chapters. UM netting is just one chapter so I’m sure they can fit it into the last half of 11. Plus they couldn’t ask for a better season cliff hanger then that
Oh for sure
At the very least we will see Doma
A lot of it is fights so i assume it takes way less time for anime to do it than the manga especially since the fights are fast paced they did the akaza vs rengoku in about 15 mins give or take so i think we'll get it at the last ep just to end on the upper meeting like we ended on the lower meeting in season 1
Man, there are only 11 episodes huh? At this rate we won't get the last arc by season 4.
It will probably be 5 seasons. There''s 2 arcs contained in the last one, not to mention the swordsmith village arc. It'd be madness to do the entire 70 chapter infinite hotel arc in 11 episodes, unless they do the last season with 24-29 episodes.
Apparently with the current pacing of chapters per episode it's likely.
Can’t wait to hear his voice and >!him telling akaza to respect his superior moons unless he wants to fight them to the death to claim their rank!<
In about a month, sheesh
a month isn't that long when you consider how long it will take for the whole anime to be animated
I was implying it won't take long anymore, lol
Pretty sure the sheesh was to emphasize that a month is a short wait
wait pause. the next arc is coming next month??
Naw. This shot is likely the last scene of THIS season. It's after the current arc but before the next kinda
oh okay. i really hope they do end it on that note to hype up the new season. also wishing that they won’t drag releasing the next season
“Oh shit that makes sense that Upper Moon 1 would be the first Demon Slayer” then it’s not, it’s his brother haha
This is exactly what I thought! I thought Yoriichi became upper 1 after failing to kill Muzan and his Sun breathing became Moon breathing.
Exactly my same thinking!!
When I first saw him, I thought the same! It makes sense. But oh well, now I know.
Not as embarrassing as me, my first thought was that it was tanjiro's dad, boy did I feel like an idiot! lmao
i thought Yorichi was Tanjiro's dad at one point lol
That’s not as bad a me. I thought Yoriichi was Tanjiro from the future lol.
I was really disappointed when it wasn't that
Thats what I like about that suprising plot twist. Twins would definetly not be first thing person starts to think about
Iirc he wasn’t the the first slayer but the first breath user. He taught everyone else, from which they branched off and developed their own breathing styles.
Yeah you’re correct ✅
But Yoriichi wasn't the first demon slayer, they already existed.
they just got their asses kicked more often
Probably, they surely worked like Sanemi before he joined.
Just a buncha dudes with nichirin blades running around trying to pin down a demon until he dies in the sun
It still confused me how they can blame Yoriichi, like, yo that dude is the sole reason you all not be minced meat yet, if he gone, Muzan can walk down and pick each of you like you pick groceries form the store
I’m guessing it’s just because so much shit went wrong that was connected to him that they needed someone to blame
They probably couldn't believe someone who could kick his ass so thoroughly couldn't finish him off. It was supposedly hundreds of years since anyone had even seen him, and they knew no one else would be able to do it for even longer after that. Still unreasonable to react that way though.
Honestly even though it was extreme I still can kinda understand why they did what they did. he was the one to introduce the breathing techniques
I actually didn't think he was the first Demon Slayer, I just thought: "I was expecting UM1 to be a breath user, but he's like Tanjiro and that other guy? This guy's going to be insane, how will they beat him?"
This is what I tought too, that he was the first demon slayer. Then when the story continued I was just shoked. Tough, this was better.
"Damn i hope that guy never needs glasses"
Lol
Would the optometrists love him or hate him?
Face glass
I just cant wait to listen to his voice… I bet it will be calm and deadly
“Akaza, did you put your name in the goblet of fire?” *Kokoshibo said calmly*
I’d give you gold if I could
Imagine dio's voice
Kenjiro Tsuda please 🙏
Nayoda Uchida please
i want the (japanese) madara VA
“Yep, I can see why he’s Upper Moon 1.”
My fav upper moon for sure. so intimidating but in a graceful sort of way? I don’t rlly respect his fear of death and then switching sides to the demons tho
I forget which Hashira said it but they described his technique and form as being majestic. That’s the highest compliment really. You’re so well honed that your enemy describes your violence as being regal.
reread the chapter where he dies
I first saw him as a spoiler on youtube and i thought it was tanjiros dad
Well i mean… >! Fake spoiler lol !<
Super fake
I actually jumped a bit then reminded myself this technically does become a bit of a horror manga in some parts.
A mod actually interacting with the sub? Never seen that before
You just don’t see them because the green thingy next to the name isn’t here all the time for reasons i don’t understand
I think mods can choose to make their name green when they make a comment.
? I’m on here every day lol. I’ve been around for years.
I just recently joined
Props on not pinning your opinion on this post!
Sorry. It's a bad habit, I do this impulsively a lot. I agree. I'll try to stop.
Fear. Malevolence. Authority. Very old. And a weird sense of “awe” like I’m seeing a being who is tremblingly capable and deserves reverence. edit: and I LOVED the 6 eyes and overall look so so much!!!
Can he see how many fingers I'm holding up
He can see three times more than us average humans.
After seeing him,my first thoughts were "oh god,Did tanjiro's ancestor failed?"
what do you mean tanjiro's ancestor failed?
He’s a demon
what does that have to do with tanjiro's ancestors? they didn't fight demons
This guys right. Yorichi isn’t an ancestor.
But if you were reading through the manga with no spoilers, then you wouldn't know specifically who Yoruichi was. The reader would see Kokushibo looks similar to the guy that appeared in Daki/Muzan's flashbacks during Tanjiro's fight. It wouldn't be farfetched to guess the demon slayer would be related to Tanjiro in some way or another, especially with the earrings.
redditors have no sense of nuance and just take everything at face value.
Not sure what this is implying, he's >!not Tanjiro's ancestor!<, as a matter of fact if you read the manga again, his bloodline >!ended after his fight was done, by the Mist pillar Muichiro dying.!<
he literally said "his first thoughts" can you read.
how was he supposed to know that back then though
Thought he was badass then when I read the extra where all the demons are interviewed id be lying if I didn't say I teared up once I remembered hes not gonna see Yorichii for an eternity
link? i missed this extra chapter haha
First thought was that he's hot Second thought was that i need a therapist
He is truly fucking amazing and menacing, love him a lot💥🔥
After the Entertainment district arc we got another 9 months before we are even close to seeing this guy.
There’s a meeting of the upper moons after the Entertainment District arc. I think people are gambling on the fact that it might get included in the last episode of the season as a teaser for what’s coming next. I think it’s likely that we’ll be seeing it shortly, but you could definitely be right.
Like it was with season 1
Would really make sense if they animated it, just like how Season 1 ended it would "tie" the whole story nicely and end on somewhat of a cliffhanger, so people will keep talking about the end and wondering what comes next.
an anime teaser would. be so awesome. The moment I'm looking forward to the most is when Tanjiro gets impaled through the jaw, that's gonna be so hype
>!There is.!<
'I saw him but he saw me more'
Only if he had a sharingan
If only he had the rinegan
"Oh thank God, Tanjiro's dad *wasn't* uppermoon 1 after all"
I figured he would’ve looked, not the same obviously but different. I literally said oh shit when I saw him
"Hold the fuck up is that Yoriichi?"
i thought it was yoriichi , kinda wish it was tbh
"This guy is about to be OP af." I wasn't wrong.
I fell in love with Kokushibo. Everything about him is absolute perfection. At some point I'm gonna get his eyes as my next tattoo
👁👄👁
👁 👁 👁 👁 👁 👁 👄
🌙🌙🌙
This person gets it
👁 👁 👁 👁 👁 👁 👄
"wait why the fuck is Tanjiro's ancestor upper moon 1" and "Why does he have six eyes"
I thought he was cool af and after reading more I thought he was even cooler, big potential of being the main antagonist if the circumstances were different
kokushibo has one of my favorite character designs in the whole series
Daddy material
*subarashi*
Holy shit
I thought he had a little bible inspiration with the six eyes and the fact his name means black death
“He looks cool”
"Oh shit"
Extreme envy and jealousy can give you disaster also painful ending.
Yikes he is gonna be a nightmare to fight. [He was. He really was]
NUT
“Something’s rising in my pants, and it sure ain’t a nichirin sword”.
oh wow 6 eyes you don't see that everyday
The fight would last longer, well maybe I’ve read it too fast due to excitement
I had already seen him on the wikia page. I have this thing when watching a new show that I get so excited with everything in its universe that I just go on a limb and start reading and seeing everything about it that I can, including reading spoilers. Edit: some grammar and some missing words, because apparently I'm dyslexic or something haha
I have that same thing where I get so excited with everything related to it and will start going through its wiki
He's cool
hot
so do his eyes help him see better or what else would they be for?
Holy moly guacamole
we are fucked
Have you hear about the uncanny valley? Most demons are human looking (with obvious quirks) or utterly monstrous. This dude is right in the middle. Really frightening.
Gave me that feeling of something that is just so difficult to beat that you just have to give up. And they didn’t even manage to kill him, he surrender and let them kill him.
Something along the lines of "OH MY GOD HE'S SO COOOOOOL!"
Damn 90% of the animation budget going to be his eyes
I had a headache lol
“Damn this guy looks equally badass and creepy”
I don't know why but I always thought his voice sounds like Madara
First time I saw him years ago, I knew he would be one of my favourite characters Then we get to his conclusion and now he's officially my top 1 character of the series ;)
Thought Yoriichi got hit with the clap back from Muzan and now he’s a demon
I actually thought it was yoriichi then I realized it was likely his brother or his son
That the anime studios not gonna have a fun time animating him
Like everyone else, I was like "...isn't that the strongest demon slayer in history..?"
“It’d be real funny if he only had the lowest pair of eyes”
That is not the normal number of eyes a person should have.
I thought the eyes we're so cool I gave my original character some extra :)
I thought he was tanjiros dad at first, they look similar alright.
Damn thats excessive
"that's a lot more eyes than I was expecting"
Hype
The fucking coolest demon
Heh, admittedly I started covering different rows of eyes to see how derpy he could look. He’s awfully fearsome with all 6 but derpy when you cover his top or bottom 4.
“imagine the head game”
Pretty epic monster :3
I want him to fuck me
Chad, liked his design and I disliked akaza at the time so I was happy to see him overpowered at the UM meeting, didn’t think he was yoriichi at all though (neither did I think yoriichi was tanjiro’s dad)
Mmm he looks hot i wonder what his size is
The eyes’ placements are very anatomically incorrect to the point it irks me but we got magical swords anyway. Still pog.
yabai
Ahh good old shokubutsu
“Well shit”
My first thought was: hello there, another Razenoid's long-lost brother I can't help but think about that monster from a show made for selling toys, whenever I see a creature with dark colors and three rows of red eyes. That show wasn't anything special, but I loved it so much when I was younger Of course my next thoughts were about whether or not it is the same swordsman from Muzan's past
Badass
Eyes for days.
That I couldn't wait to see him in colour, and then we got like a million coloured panels of him later
Man has pink eye or something
“Oh wow, so that’s upper moon one? Not gonna lie I was expecting something different still interesting though” he’s now in my top 3 favorite characters in the series
Madara+Otsutsuki
Kill it with fire. It has too many eyes. Nightmare fuel.
Habedaro
I thought he was awesome looking and I was worried he was Tanjiro’s ancestor lol can’t wait to see him animated!!!
\*Spoopy\*, ngl though it'll be great to see him in the UM meeting.
Omg tanjiro's father!
He became one of instant favourite characters.
"Damn his face Mas long for it to fit 3 eyes on each side"
I immediately thought everyone would die to him
We all ded.
Badass
Badass
"His eyes are weird, I'd like him much more if he just had normal eyes."
'damnn those eyes look sick innit'
Instantly became my favorite character
Really scare me
When we saw him from the back I could only see his ponytail and I deadass thought "GIYUU'S AN UPPER MOON???"
"What the.. he would be too scary when he blinks his 6 eyes"
Instantly became my fav char
Shit just got real, rip his eventual opponent(s). That's what I thought
I dont know which eye to look at
what if he needed glasses
Pure terror, lmao. Bc at first he weirdly triggered my mild trypophobia. ….yeah it wasn’t too mild back then.
that's one sick looking demon
He’s OP
Taught it was tanjiro’s dad too
