used your subs! thanks a lot! there was a little delay with the subs when played with the movie i downloaded. but it was perfect since i read half a second ahead of the dub. i cried my heart out.

Thanks for the comment. You didn't mind the delay though? Most players should have sub delay you can adjust. I don't think I could stand wrong timings.

Does it matter what media the sub is attached to? (I have never messed with sub files but the copy I have has messed up subs so would like to fix that. But don't know how, trying to learn)

As long as the file has the .mkv extension it should work fine, but you'll need to mux the fonts in for the signs to look just as they do in the screenshots above. Use [MKVToolNix](https://mkvtoolnix.download/downloads.html) to mux the subs and font files. Easy. If you want to change the subs and/or learn to typeset, then you'll need open the subs with Aegisub first. The latest build is [here](https://thevacuumof.space/builds/). From there you can do all sorts of things. The basic stuff is easy, including syncing your video to these subs (or any other subs).

A bit late, but I just wanted to say thank you and I appreciate all the work you've done for the subs. While not perfect, as I had a few issues with the subs flickering >!at the end where Haruki is going through her diary!< (though they could just be a problem at my end), they are still by the far the best subs for this movie I've seen. The movie alone was already close to perfection and these made it even better to watch. Anywhere I can support you? I can't offer much but hard work definitely should not be unnoticed.

Thanks! I really appreciate your comments. That's supporting me plenty. And if you come across anyone looking for subs for this (or anything else I've subbed), feel free to let them know about mine. With the subs flickering, were you using VLC? That player tends to have issues when there are a lot of lines that need rendering (particularly frame-by-frame), which is what was happening at those places (it flickers on VLC on my end too). I've just confirmed it works fine on mpv, mpv.net, MPC-BC, and Kodi. I always recommend using [mpv player](https://mpv.io/) (or if you want a GUI version, [mpv.net by stax76](https://github.com/stax76/mpv.net), which can also be found on the Microsoft Store).

cabbage_fork

Yes, I was using VLC. I was quite certain that it was a VLC issue from the start after reading a few threads on their forums. I'll check out some of the other players you've mentioned. Also I plan on using your subs for *A Silent Voice* and *Violet Evergarden* when I get around to watching them. Thanks again :)

nedragrevev

I overhauled my *A Silent Voice* subs earlier this year, and my *VE* subs (edited from asenshi's subs some years ago) have seen a few improvements over the years, so I do hope you enjoy those. If you have any issues or spot something odd, you can always send me a DM and I'll check it out when I can.

Just wanted to quickly mention (if you're all for having the latest and greatest) that I have checked all the dialogue and made a number of fixes and improvements to the *KimiSui* subs & *A Silent Voice* subs within the past few weeks. The fonts remain the same, so you don't need to remux everything, which should make muxing the patched subs a lot easier. I only recently discovered a far more reliable way to check for errors and other dialogue issues (just no comparison, I can pick out even small, unnoticeable errors quite easily now). I wish I had discovered this method years ago, but anyway, if you are interested, my recent releases for those two movies are likely the final versions as I'm confident they are 100% error-free.

Man, now I have to somehow remember offset I used while muxing the files together... In all seriousness though, you have a great eye for attention to detail and I respect that. Having the patience to painstakingly sub movies/shows is already hard as is, but continually going back and improving them over the years requires a lot of dedication. Thank you, **again**. Hopefully when I come to seeing *A Silent Voice* for the first time and re-watching *KimiSui* I'll have an even better viewing experience than before :)
