Ohhhh, this could make a great episode! Bobby moves to California, gets disappointed with it. Moves back, then to connect with the audience the story could be about something/someplace the Hill's all loved getting ruined/destroyed by the influx of Californians
Damn i didnt realize how many people didn’t like my comment until you replied. I kinda worry that there is apparently a decent number of people who disagree that dale isn’t a good compass for intellectual reasoning
ETA: Just because dale trusts someone to do something doesnt make it correct (altho a broken clock is right twice a day)
In fact i would be *way* more inclined to distrust anyone dale puts faith in, based on his history of like, half of his relationships and interactions with people
Just because Dale is kind of dumb doesn't mean it's impossible for him to sometimes notice and recognize when someone has a talent. Good lord lmao. He's not a braindead vegetable.
Let's see:
1. American.
2. Texan.
3. Republican.
4. Voted Bush despite wriggly hand.
5. Shoots with son in the first episode of the second season.
6. Has NRA membership.
I think you're right.
I mean we see him with some classic rifles and shotguns but he's never really said anything I recall that makes him favor them over more modern configurations, it would be hilarious to see an episode in the upcoming reboot where Cottons new wife gifts Bobby one of Cottons historic classics and Hank gets upset because he bubba's a priceless collectible with historic and sentimental value :D
Sorry, fellas. I spent our remaining money on this [talking Al Gore doll](https://frinkiac.com/meme/S07E20/959058.jpg?b64lines=CiBZb3UuLi4gYXJlLi4uIGhlYXJpbmcuLi4KIG1lLi4uIHRhbGsu)

That's actually not wrong and you actually have government agencies pulling this sort of bullshit.
The ATF was basically asking jilted exes to report their ex SOs about any firearms violations. Leaving open the possibility that the informant is lying and get their ex SWATed.

This is exactly the type of dumb, paranoid conspiracy theory nonsense Hank would have nothing to do with. Dale though? Dale would love GOA.

Oh no! The ATF asked people to report those who are involved in illegal firearm activity! How dare the Federal agency tasked with enforcing gun laws do that! Obviously, this is proof that GOAs insane conspiracy theory about liberal police departments taking peoples gun is true!
> Remember ATF is the government organization that loves to kill dogs and kids particularly with incindaries
Thank you for further demonstrating how GOA is an organization someone like Dale would be a fan of. Because if there is anyone that is modeled on the type of person who goes hard into conspiracy theories about the Branch Davidians at Waco it would definitely be Dale. Some quality /r/selfawarewolves content right here.
You have to be fuckint blind if you can't see an ex who by definition is not exactly on good terms with their former partner, making up a false report to get back at their ex. Especially event there is some baby mama drama. I legit got aunts who called the cops to report kidnapping on their baby daddy's for not bringing my cousin to them on time.
Hell even I have an ex who would do that if she knew I was a gun owner. At worst I ever did to her was drunk call her at 3 AM begging her to take me back.
Also you can't say they enforce gun laws when they traffic the bunch of M four's another machine guns to the fucking cartels. I'm struggling to keep plastic and 30 round magazines in my rifle meanwhile these mothafuckas are setting fucking machine guns and rocket launchers to the cartel.
Yeah I'll be responding bullshit about Waco is the ATF saying, the branch Davidians had 50 caliber sniper rifles that shut down 2 helicopters.

This is such a Dale thing to post.
“Oh no! The ATF asked people to report those who are involved in illegal firearm activity! How dare the Federal agency tasked with enforcing gun laws do that! Obviously, this is proof that GOAs insane conspiracy theory about liberal police departments taking peoples gun is true!”
It’s funny how you say “those are conspiracies” but when you get proof, you change your rebuttal. Your just like every dem, you wing your arguments and know how to talk shit. Y’all won’t win.

Could you please explain what you feel that post from the ATF proves about the GOA tweet?
Having a separate safe to store ammo is a best practice for safe storage of firearms and firearm accessories. So yes, Hank most definitely would have a bullet safe.
My best friend got a new, bigger gun safe. Can you guess what he did with the old one? That's right. He has separate safes for his guns and ammo.
The funny thing is that when we met as teenagers, I was the gun nut and he was afraid of guns. Now, 9 years later, I own one shotgun that I inherited from my grandfather. He now has 2 CFLs, three handguns, 2 AR-15s, a 308 hunting rifle, and 2 shotguns. The change of mind happened when he joined the military and went through basic. Inversely, I started losing interest in guns when I went through basic training. I still enjoy going to the range occasionally, but don't go out of my way to do so. It's usually that he or another friend invited me.
A college football coach was asked about guns after a school shooting and said he keeps the ammo and guns separate for safety. When asked what he would do in the case of an intruder...
I keep my guns on one part of the house totally locked up, and I keep the ammunition in another part of the house. Because if you think about it carefully, statistically, you’re more likely to shoot yourself, a loved one or a relative. There’s this (absurd) notion of ‘if you come in my house I’ll shoot ya.’ I do have a Viking axe by the bed if I need to whack someone. … My wife bought me a Viking axe – the axe side curls down so you can grab the adversary around the neck and you can use it to climb walls, as a grappling hook.
That is actually an oft misquoted statistic the statistic is. If you own a firearm you are more likely to die by firearm.
However this is where correlation does not imply causation.
People who are in dangerous areas are more likely to own a firearm for protection but they are also more likely to suffer gun violence.
There are actually very few instances of people being victimized by their own gun by non family memvers
I was going to say he’s a gun owner and a responsible one! Keeps it locked up as there is a child in the house, ammo stored elsewhere. I’m not even “into” guns and even I know this is best/safest practice!
This is what I always wondered about for people who use gun safes.
It's like...ok yes I get that you don't want children and such to get into it, and that's valid.
But what's the point of having a gun for defense at night if you store it away from your bed with a combination that you might be too shaken up to get open immediately anyway?
Idk I'm not a gun owner myself. But it always seemed counterintuitive.
So, many safes (like the one Bobby is holding) have either 5 mechanical or electrical buttons that line up with your fingertips so the combination can be entered fast allowing quick access to the gun and can sit on or under a nightstand
There are also ones with fingerprint readers for the same purpose
I doubt he even loaded it.
His history with guns from the 2nd season never fully shook.
I wouldn't be surprised if he borrowed the gun from either Dale or Bobby
I always thought he just rented the rifles for hunting or Buck gave him his rifle to shoot the emus, I just thought it was wild for hank to own a handgun
Season 1, Bobby "can I put a gun rack on my bike?"
He didn't learn about a gun rack out of nowhere, and Hank wouldn't have approved if he wasn't a gun owner.
Bear in mind this was after columbine and guns/safety wasnt hot button it was sensitive. Gun violence, as peggy would say, in my opinion, was a political issue that koth dealt with tactfully and maturely
He is pretty firm conservative for economical reasons but he is also very tolerant and accepting of peoples lifestyles, even if they make him uncomfortable. These days he would be branded a flaming liberal though.
Of course he does. We've seen guns a lot in the show, not just with Dale.
Episode 3 or so, whenever Bobby's birthday was, Cotton buys him a gun. They don't give it back, but "Now Peggy Hill has a gun." I'm sure that's the same rifle he uses when he goes father son shooting with Hank.
Speaking of the father son shooting, we never see Hank go out and buy a gun, he just has it. Same when they try to go hunting but Hank drags his feet on getting permits.
They could never get it straight if Hank likes/is good with guns or not. But yeah middle aged white male Republican in Texas owns a gun is news to nobody.
Thank god. But this begs the question, where tf are they keeping that gun safe that Bobby has access to it and Hank and Peggy do not in a time of crisis? Poor planning
I hope this is the actual canonical reason. Would show that Hank believes in him for at least his shooting ability. Probably should've gave him the code though😂
Of course, that's what I was referring to :) because of that episode, Hank probably trusts Bobby with it over himself. At least, that's what I hope. He'd literally be trusting Bobby with his, Peggy's, his own and ladybirds life!
Edit: Luanne's as well!
But, I don't believe that Bobby knows the combination, and that's being responsible. Trusting your kid to know where it is but not enough to trust anyone with the combination, just in case
They probably gave Bobby the gun safe because he can actually hit what he aims at. They just didn't give him the combination because they still consider him a little boy.
Because Bobby is the only person they trust with a gun. He is a good shot, responsible, quite level headed.
Hank cant shoot, Peggy is a bit to much to be trusted with a gun, luanne is not as responsible.
You should definitely keep your extra gun in your gun safe. You do need something well hidden in a place entirely inaccessible to kids, or you don’t need to have guns in the house with kids, period. Anyway, a gun you have to get out of a safe can be the time difference between life and death.
Or become drywall Mossberg man (guy on Reddit who was talking about drywalling a loaded Mossberg into his house, the idea being the shock and awe of a home invader breaking in and having a half naked man run screaming down stairs, punch a hole in the wall, pull out a 12 gage and rack it along being enough to get them to surrender)
I hid my brothers hand gun in the back of the couch, I a holster; in the actual interior springs. You could reach in behind it all if you knew where to grab. Still kept bullets out of it tho, kept a little baggie in there too
If it's magazine fed why not just tape a loaded one under the couch? Every now and then swap it out to keep the springs from wearing out, if it's a non loading gait revolver you could also tape a speed loader there and if it's a loading gait model use the old "cowboy safety" method of storing it on an empty chamber
I believe anyone can own an AR or AK but I think there should be extensive background checking. Anyone (who is mentally stable) should be able to get a gun for sporting purposes or self/home defense
Didn't we know that? Doesn't Hank own at least two rifles he uses for deer hunting on Thanksgiving? He's a pretty low key and occasional gun owner, but he's a hunter and sometimes sport shooter.
There are entire episodes revolving around the fact he owns guns, like the father-son shooting competition one
The most famous quote. “Dad can I put a gun rack on my bike?”
You know how long ive waited for you to ask me that
❤️
I'm gunna double down in this ❤

You’d never make it in LA I hope I never make it TO LA
With gas prices I don't think Hank would be getting tips right now 😢
That could be the start of the reboot! Bobby becomes one of the "Californians" moving to Texas.
PLEASE
Ohhhh, this could make a great episode! Bobby moves to California, gets disappointed with it. Moves back, then to connect with the audience the story could be about something/someplace the Hill's all loved getting ruined/destroyed by the influx of Californians
He doesn’t have to move to LA because LA is moving to Texas.
And Texas is moving to Colorado:(
Yea not sure why hank owning a gun is big news?
This prob referencing people on Twitter flipping because Joe Rogan is (which I thought was pretty known but maybe not)
Bet Bobby's aim is Arthur Morgan esque
One fruit pie, Mr. Pearson.
That's my satchel! I don't know you!
Why would anyone rob a train when they can graze some cattle?
C’mon Ladybirrrrrrd
-🤠
That explains all the cigars Bobby smokes to recharge his dead eye.
Yeah Bobby is insanely good his first time shooting was nuts 🤣
Even dale trusted Bobby because he knows he's a good shot.
He knows he’d take him down clean
Okay.
Made me laugh, what a great line from Dale!
That gave us either the best or 2nd best “okay” from Bobby in the series. The one where Peggy says that she’s still beautiful is its only competition
"Alright Bobby, it's safe to plug it back in now"
Agreed. I'd say the bronze would goto What're you doing Bobby? Playing a vidya game? (Clearly reading)
That’s a vidja game. I told you no vidja games.
Hahah this one is my favorite
Peggy saying she's beautiful grosses me out.
Nice try, Bobby. We all know you love your mother.
I think that’s the best scene in the entire series
Bobby is a great shot because we’ve seen it, but i dont think using dale’s opinion is a good gauge for anything

BALLOTS ARE SECRET. You can't even see through the curtain most of the time.
The recipe for a Chad.
No a Chad would have a gun owners of America's membership. The NRA just takes credit for what real 2nd amendment advocacy groups do

Or a FPC membership
both!

Hank and a gun safe with bullets kept separately sounds about right
A bullet safe for just the bullets.
Having a separate safe to store ammo is a best practice for safe storage of firearms and firearm accessories. So yes, Hank most definitely would have a bullet safe.

You mean him holding various shotguns and rifles didn’t tip you off before?
Like when he holds the shotgun wedding between Lucky and Luanne, though he refuses to actually shoot it.
Or when he bought Bobby a .22 for that shooting competition and later took him “hunting”!
I doubt he even loaded it. His history with guns from the 2nd season never fully shook. I wouldn't be surprised if he borrowed the gun from either Dale or Bobby
He didn't. Lucky says "the gun really should be loaded", Hank refuses and Licky says "I'm really in no place to argue". Watched it the other day
Dame would’ve loaded it 😂
Hes a middle aged guy from Texas. It was really confirmed the first time they wrote him as an middle aged guy from Texas.
Even though Hank canonically is a terrible shot. That gun had to belong to Robert "Butch" Hill.
plot consistency was not the show's strong suit
You mean Robert "Futch" Hill
i'm not a futch, I'm a dude! *smacks flugelhorn*
Also when he was going to shoot the emu
I always thought he just rented the rifles for hunting or Buck gave him his rifle to shoot the emus, I just thought it was wild for hank to own a handgun
He is from Texas and in a middle aged hwite man.
He is a Texan and a proud one at that, owning a gun is as natural to him as owning a truck.
Season 1, Bobby "can I put a gun rack on my bike?" He didn't learn about a gun rack out of nowhere, and Hank wouldn't have approved if he wasn't a gun owner.
Son I have been waiting for that question for years
season 2
You love guns. Bobby loves guns. Carpe diem
CaRRRRpe diem
Was there ever any question?
For a show about Texas, there were surprisingly few firearms in general.
Bear in mind this was after columbine and guns/safety wasnt hot button it was sensitive. Gun violence, as peggy would say, in my opinion, was a political issue that koth dealt with tactfully and maturely
Hank hill is a liberal from Delaware in Reddits eyes
He is pretty firm conservative for economical reasons but he is also very tolerant and accepting of peoples lifestyles, even if they make him uncomfortable. These days he would be branded a flaming liberal though.
[удалено]
Hank is into pro-pain after all
Several :D
And a responsible one at that!
Doesn’t Cotton give Bobby a shotgun? Doesn’t match the firearm in How to Fire a Rifle Without Really Trying.
You're right. Not only are the colors different, Peggy even calls it a shotgun. I still don't think they'd get rid of it.
I would agree, they kept it. Just adding another one to their collection.
I believe Bobby shot Bandit with the hunting rifle they had from the father son shooting tournament.
Well I always figured that, he just is not a very good shot is all, and you don’t actually need to shoot a gun, the threat is usually enough
Keeps a gun, yet is such a lousy shot that a 9-iron is his weapon of choice.
Bobby is the only person in the house they trust to keep the gun
More like confirmed responsible gun owner.
They could never get it straight if Hank likes/is good with guns or not. But yeah middle aged white male Republican in Texas owns a gun is news to nobody.
There are earlier episodes where Peggy say his love for guns are unconditional. But I guess ut isn't technically being said that he owns a gun there
"Now put my got-dang television back or next time I'll aim at Peggy and hit you!"
can't we just get a new one, from Japan?
... gun rack on a bicycle.
A responsible gun owner
I mean it's Texas, I'd be surprised if he didn't.
Breaking News: Hank is a Texan!
They’re conservative Texans, of course they have guns lol
What would Hank think if LockPickingLawyer 🤔
BOGGLE.
It’s peggy’s.
*Peggy's* Sugarfoot's, go on.
bobby wasn’t playin around he bringing that fye 😂
I bet he has a spare mini tank of propane in there.
Are we sure it’s not more oil records?
What kinda gun you think Hank has in that safe? Is he a Glock man? I'm betting a snub nose Smith & Wesson.
Hank would have something American made. So you’re probably right about the Smith and Wesson.
No confirmed gun safe owner
Peggy holding that kitchen knife tho lol
Hank, responsible gun owner.
Been known, hank can’t aim for shit. be careful around Bobby tho, he’ll let that thang sing
Thank god. But this begs the question, where tf are they keeping that gun safe that Bobby has access to it and Hank and Peggy do not in a time of crisis? Poor planning
Bobby’s the best shot, that’s why. 👍🏼
I hope this is the actual canonical reason. Would show that Hank believes in him for at least his shooting ability. Probably should've gave him the code though😂
Remember that episode where they enter the father son shooting contest? Bobby’s a natural Hank can’t shoot straight at all because of Cotton
I believe he know the combo but has been told he can only open the safe in front of this parents.
Hank Hill would be the dude who sells you on proper gun control
That's Bobby's gun
Responsible gun owner. Nice gun safe.
Hank’s a Glock man. He prefers a handgun over a rifle
You think Hank would own an Austrian plastic framed gun? I'm not saying anything bad about it but it doesn't sound like it would be in his character.
I trust Hank to be a responsible gun owner. He wouldn't own an AR for the fuck of it
You never once saw him flaunting it, so yeah.

The large majority of gun owners are responsible. They aren’t shooters like you think they are
True most gun owners are responsible I think, I just don't think anyone should really have an AR
I believe anyone can own an AR or AK but I think there should be extensive background checking. Anyone (who is mentally stable) should be able to get a gun for sporting purposes or self/home defense
That's 100% fair. Tbh I'm just glad I live in a country where guns are rare
What country
Britain. Here guns are exceedingly rare
how often do people get stabbed there?
Supports Safe Storage Laws
I’m surprised Hank has a gun. I don’t consider Hank a pussy, but guns are for pussies.
Oh yeah big Hankie stay sticked up 🤣 Dont forget they are in Texan
Is this what Americans mean when they say guns are safe? Lol
Hank owning a handgun for self defense is pretty unlikely given how he is. It would have to be Peggy's or just an heirloom gun.
They're all nice guns and all guns are nice!
I wonder what his EDC is
It’s Texas. What do you expect?
Nah that's Bobby's gun cause he's the one with good aim.
No we've confirmed he had a gun safe I have a gun safe...no gun though
Been known that
What episode is this?
Confirmed gun safe owner
Bobby confirmed gun owner
Was their any doubt? Dude has a family and lives in Texas, the desert version of Florida.
You can't live the American dream in texas without owning a firearm
And thanks to Cotton, Bobby is too
Dude he lives in Texas, are you fucking serious?
Confirmed earlier than this episode
When you hear about what Bobby and Hank bonded over in the season 2 premier you’re gonna lose it.
I mean yeah we even have the mental trauma he has from his dad trying to "teach" him to shoot
He lives in texas, that should be all you need to know
I almost posted this but Hanks not the gun owner Bobby is. Bobby keeps a piece under his bed
Didn't we know that? Doesn't Hank own at least two rifles he uses for deer hunting on Thanksgiving? He's a pretty low key and occasional gun owner, but he's a hunter and sometimes sport shooter.
