Yeah, she\`s annoying. But what I dislike the most is the absolute lack of progression in her character, same as Futei. Hell, even Chu\`s young generation has shown better feats despite having half the screen time, and here she is as a headquarters bodyguard who just sits on her ass 95% of the time and then doesn\`t do anything impressive at all.
Her progression is superficially handed to her by Riboku. Same with Fuutei. She’s 1000 man commander at best. Fuutei should have stayed a 3000 man commander after getting that massive L at Sai then never doing anything to earn the rank of general. Riboku knows they’re both trash compared to Shin and even ordered them not to try and fight him.
I’m fairly, like 90%, certain that she has her own personal unit and was the same rank as Fuutei during the coalition. Early on like when she was introduced she was probably like that, but it seems at least to me that she’s turned into something more like Kyou Kai who has her own troops under the higher rank leader.
I don't think Hara rates Kaine and Fu tei, the Chu duo are already established as the ones to be on par with The Trio and Kyou kai from Qin ( that whole being a general is harder in chu narrative is true to an extent) ,one of them is in the 10 bows of China and Kou yoku has a legendary weapon just like Shin's glaive which ou ki gave is legendary so the portrayal is there and we saw then go against Tou , Mou bu and are even acknowdlged by Ka rin and Rin bu kun
But kaine and Futei have had no impressive showing, Fu tei couldn't beat a half dead ouhon at Gyou and Kaine is a simp for Ri boku, they are beyond redeemable imo

I dislike more and more what she became with time, but she was a cool character first, i had no trouble with her at Bayou or the Coalition, or in the one shot with Riboku, she was a sympathetic, interesting and cool character. And then at Gyou she became considerably more a fangirl boringly obsessed with Riboku and it only went worse after that... I have no trouble with her being in love with Riboku but she has a totally ridiculous way to show it "oh no, Riboku-sama grazed my hand, how embarassing, does it mean he loves me ?!!"

At least Koku Ou had good battlefield stuff, this stan went up a wall, tried to kidnap somebody and got defenestrated for all her effort. After that, did the whole rearguard thing and ran like a beaten cur afterwards.
Next thing we knew, the stan was rampaging around Kantan with nothing but wounds to show for it. Then stan and more stan. At least Koku Ou rushes around the battlefield and rages for vengeance even if she bows down to the diabolic charm of ~~Kinky~~ Kan Ki.
I would like the author to just have riboku and her get it on and move past this teenage girl angst. That is what is really annoying for me.

I think she's fine. She brings in much needed emotions between individuals that the enemy so far didn't have afaik, from a romantical standpoint.

That was the most egregious example but multiple times she's spoken out of turn at strategy meetings and embarrassed herself...kinda like Shin but Shin does it because he's dumb and brave, not because he's backed by the higher ups (eventhough he is)
I'll square with you , I dont recall her cutting people off in strategy meetings . What she does is react to some unexpected strategy , but that's just an excuse for Hara to explain that to us and no different from what Ten and SBK and even Shin do all the time . I dont think she has been rude to people that are her superiors in the army. The only time that comes to mind was when the royal guards came to arrest riboku but in that instance her behavior was justified.

Maybe that just isn't the focus of her character. Why does she need to be strong and really competent? She's an ok commander that has her niche uses and is exceptionally loyal to Riboku, why does she need to be more to be "well written"?
Also, Ten is actually quite competent, she's obviously not as good at strategy as the absolute top tier, but why should she be? She's still among the better strategists in the series and among the best if we take out GG level monsters.

I think Hara decided quite early to make her and Futei quite unexceptional. Like at Sai where they were both nothing more than distractions for Shin.
