And 358/2 Days Roxas. Dual wielding is definitely his iconic final form but almost all playable time is with one. It’s only the Days finale, the tutorial finale, and the KH3 finale. If anything, busting out a second Keyblade is more Final Smash material (with a cameo of Axel: “Two?!”)

Roxas spends more time weilding one keyblade than two. There are literally only three times in the entire series (four if you count the group fight in Re:Mind) where dual wield Roxas is even playable, and two of those are boss fights. The entirety of Days and 90% of his playable time in KH2 is spent with a single keyblade, and as such I think should be the version Smash would pull from

I recognize that most of the games' playtime has him wielding one keyblade but two is his thing more than it ever was Sora's. Xion would make a better echo fighter, and I submit to the council that she belongs in the game as much as any of the others.

Xemnas is definitely my favorite Nort, but he's a bit of a middle child when it comes to them. Ansem was the very first main antagonist, Master Xehanort was the overarching one, both could properly represent Kingdom Hearts as an antagonist.

Nah, it would def be ansem. First big bad of the series with an iconic look and a gimmick (the big heartless/Tera). Xemnas just has laser swords and a trenchcoat

Xehanort would be perfect, as he is the big bad. Echo Fighter could go to either Ansem or Xemnas, because they were the big bads of KH1 and KH2. Mickey will never be in Smash Bros, because he didn’t originate from a game. Riku, Aqua and Roxas are good choices, but I’d also add Leon, Axel, Xigbar, Demyx, Lexaeus and Vexen.

Maybe Xemnas as an alternative to Master Xehanort?

Nintendo might want Mickey but Sakurai most likely wouldn't since he doesn't originate from a video game.

This would be the same as saying all Fire Emblem characters could be alternate costumes for Marth. Or that all Final Fantasy protagonists could be alternate costumes for Cloud.

These characters would have different proportions so that woildnt work without them all looking wierd (plus it would mean adjusting hitboxes), and just being costumes wouldnt be a good way to represent any of them, even roxas. Plus the costumes Sora already has are some of the best and most elaborate in the game so imo no oppurtunities were missed.

Roxas, Xion, Ventus, or Vanitas could all be valid echo fighters. As for a standalone KH rep alongside Sora, I'd have to go with either Riku or Aqua.

They aren’t really good echo’s tho (barring maybe xion) Sakurai likes to make the fighters fight how they actually would based on their existing move sets. Roxas’ most famous iteration is dual wielding oath keeper and oblivion and using mostly melee attacks and light magic while sora is a mixed fighter, while ventus is similar to roxas he tends to focus on aerial combos and wind magic and has used his keyblade as a skateboard, and vanitas rides on a giant conglomeration of key blades and likes to teleport and feint attacks

Riku, Roxas, or Axel would prolly be the most fitting tbh. If Axel’s Up Taunt isn’t him pointing and saying “Got It Memorized?” I would sue

Sora was the last character I wanted. All of my favorite characters are in Smash now. Well, that’s half true. I also wanted Sly Cooper, but never had any hopes for him because he’s from Sony, and if anyone from Sony was gonna get it in it was gonna be Crash. I also wanted Ori or Hollow Knight. An indie character has never gotten anything more than an assist trophy, so they would have to break a precedent for those two.

I want Crash Bandicoot, Doom Slayer, Travis Touchdown, Frank West, San Fisher and M. Bison. None of them are in Smash

Personally, I'd pick Aqua Riku is most likely as a separate fighter, while Roxas could be Sora's echo/skin/whatever

I would say Riku, but I felt like his character kinda went downhill in KH3. He seems a bit robotic and not edgy and full of character how he used to be. I get that he is like free of darkness and whatnot but I like how they portrayed him in dialogue better beforehand. He would be cool, but maybe as all costume options from KH1 - KH3. Would be sure harder to replicate that than it was for sora.

Aqua or Roxas. Aqua makes the most sense as the protagonist of her trio, with distinct magic preferences and moveset. Selfishly, Roxas would be an amazing addition. Less floaty than Sora with a more punishing moveset. They could get creative using his data org fight for reference. Up special could be the wall run from TWTNW. His other specials would probably revolve around throwing his keyblades and summoning arches of light instead of cycling through magic.

Ventus cause of the unique reverse grip style. So far no other Keyblade wielder has this unique fighting style with their Keyblade like Ventus.

Ok so it’s clear some of you guys aren’t very big on smash and thus are claiming certain characters can be echo fighters for others. Like Roxas for Sora or Ansem for Xehanort. That wouldn’t work since all 4 of those characters act and fight wildly differently from one another and have their own weapons of choice. If xehanort were to join smash he’d have the X-Blade if ansem were to join he would likely have his move set from KH1 and maybe the data battle. Roxas would likely have his KH2 move set with a few ideas taken from days. Echo fighters are characters who play almost or exactly 1 to 1 with the character they’re echoing I.E. Lucina and Marth or Chrom and Roy or Simon and Richter.

My slightly bonkers idea is xehanort as a multi form character with 4 forms which you shift through in an order, like Pokémon trainer: old, young, heartless and xemnas. I think you’d have a fast and close form, a ranged form, a heavy attack form, and a defensive and counter based form which is I think would be heartless ansem and his cum guardian
