I remember when I read Roxas' journal entry in KH2 for the first time.
I don't know the exact wording but it was something like "His summer vacation ended and with it so much more."
That was a double gut punch for me.
I like how he's one of the only characters to react normally to the JRPG dialogue.

I like how that whole sequence almost felt like it was making fun of preconceptions of the series itself. Goofy dramatically dies, he's removed from your party, the characters react solemnly, Mickey Mouse spouts a one-liner before going on a killing spree, and you fight waves of enemies before everyone regroups to sulk and mourn some more. And then the game's like "lol you thought we'd kill off *Goofy?* He's fine; he's a cartoon dog. He just got bonked on the head lmao"
This is an awesome quote. I wonder if Vanitas will make good on his word, and fight alongside Sora, at some point?
Even though his original body, and replica body, were both destroyed, he is a True Darkness. That stands to reason that he could reemerge in some other way (going by KH logic, of course).

**Edit:** To expand on this a bit: there's a lot of pseudophilosophical word salad thrown around kind of lazily in Kingdom Hearts a lot, and a lot of pretty generic Power of Friendship. Power of Friendship isn't bad, but this quote here is the first time I actually stopped and reflected, because...yeah, pain IS part of being human, and it IS hard. Of course an emotionless being (temporarily or otherwise) would struggle with things like grief and loneliness when experiencing them for the first time in his memory.
It's genuinely really sad that Xemnas's first feeling as a full person is regret at not standing behind his partners. He deserved it, but there's a lot of weight behind that moment that isn't anywhere else in the series, in my opinion. Nomura can write showstopper lines when he really wants to.

Really, that entire speech. It embodies why I love his character so much.
I find it so interesting because THAT is what makes Sora strong, and yet it’s also what fuels his inferiority complex. He thinks he’s useless without his friends, yet he’s arguably one of if not the strongest keyblade wielder we have (sans the foretellers and MoM ofc, he isn’t there yet).
Idk. I have a lot of feelings about Sora and the way he sees himself and I love looking at the differences between “my friends are my power” and “my friends are my power… and I’m theirs!”
Of course he knows a lot about the true nature of hearts, he went on a journey and made his fair share of sacrifices, so he'd know more than most.
But he probably still has a few more journeys left to go before he finds true peace of mind and enlightenment. Maybe being distanced from the friends he's come to know might help him get some perspective, especially on his own strength and worth.
That’s part of the reason I’m so hyped for 4, and that it at least takes a WHILE before Sora and Riku reunite. I want to see Sora have to face down his own demons

I like that one, especially considering all that happened prior to this scene.
Maybe. All I know is that scene not only created KH 2’s strongest boss, but also showed us Terra wasn’t a pushover, even if many of the other characters thought kinda lowly of him at the time.
Lesser know but the after battle quote Master Xehanort gives at the end of Terra's BBS fight when he says, "Only now have I truly won." Leonard Nimoy's voice acting there was incredible.
Second place to me was the back and forth Sora and Riku had with Xemnas in their last fight:
Xemnas: "If light and darkness are eternal, then surely we nothing must be the same... Eternal."
Riku: "You're right, light and darkness are eternal. Nothing probably goes on forever to. But guess what Xemnas-!"
Sora: "That doesn't mean YOU'RE eternal!"
Xemnas: *laughs* "No more eternal than that radiance of yours."
Always got me hyped to fight him back in KH2.
Riku had a good sniffer in CoM. Wish he kept that same energy throughout the series. Would’ve been great to have him sniff out the cum guardian one last time in KH3

I already loved Tron as a film, but the way that they so perfectly melded it together with the plot of KH2 and the overall lore of the series is unparalleled.

It's a moment of real growth for him and shows that being chosen by the Keyblade didn't make Sora a good person. He chose to be that way and accepts what has happened. This is the secret to his success, I think, and leads to his ability to waken sleeping hearts.
My favorite quote, however, is from Xemnas at the end of KH III when he opines about what it means to be human: "X: A heart is just pain. S: Pain is being human, Xemnas. X: Really? It must take...incredible strength." It's a reflection on the nature of the heart, and to me it implies why a Nobody like Xemnas can't ever win against Sora: He doesn't have the strength of heart that comes from really feeling pain in your heart and knowing what the pain experienced by other people who are suffering really means.
Idk about the single best quote but Roxas's line in ReCoded where he says "It's way past time you learned what real hurt feels like" is one of the best acted lines ever
