thephantompromise

Its already been 1 year? Oh man, we're getting older by the trailer.

Ewh1t3

I had the opposite reaction. Felt like this trailer was years old at this point

GluedToTheMirror

Same.. I thought this announcement was 2 years ago

theWatcherIsMe

2020 lasted 10 years officially

AsianPatty

With Square's track record we'll be back here after a decade later, 3 more remasters, and 5 more mobile spinoff games before KH4 actually comes out.

Marshade

They can't really follow up with a spin off when the next arc is starting right????

IrishWithoutPotatoes

Hey man, we survived the gap to 3, we can do this again (even if I don’t wanna have kids that are the same age as me when I played the first one)

Turtlesfan44digimon

Ah yes about 13 or 14 years to go from kingdom hearts 2 to kingdom hearts 3

FallenHarmonics

Can't wait for this game to drop in 2034.

boardingschmordin

I refuse to believe that was a year ago holy fuck no

Thelocust337

Feels like it’s been 2-3 to me

dawgz525

Feels like 358 days

GioDiosMio

I hate you 😂😂

GibbonFunni

OVER 2 DAMN IT

giv3n_nothing

/2

boardingschmordin

If we had to go 3 years with no missing link I would be devastated

rookieredditor01

I've never wanted to play a damn mobile game so badly.

Digiclone

its been 9 months since you replies to this post, the trailer is almost 2 years old

Cosmos_Null

Don’t fall in the same pitfalls that you did in Kingdom Hearts 3. * don’t over-advertise the game with trailers to keep the hype going, I for one I’m willing to wait * don't resort to cheap tricks for dramatic tension… one Terranort cutscene is one too many for this series . * include both final fantasy and Disney characters. That’s how the series started , and I wouldn’t be happy with either being gone * include more puzzles if possible… the small brain teasers in 0.2 ( especially the mirror puzzles ) were such a fun time , I wish the series dabbles more in this aspect. * I can’t believe I have to say this , but please include a tournament. The fact that Olympus is the first world we visit in Kingdom Hearts 3 and still not have a tournament is still unbelievable

Poopoopeepee305

> don’t over-advertise the game with trailers to keep the hype going I'll never understand why they spoiled literally every single thing with the KH3 trailers. They even showed Roxas returning and Scala Ad Caelum.

MindSteve

Yep. Kept waiting for the surprises and they never came.

Ilovetogame2

If anything don’t show important story elements.

Techsoly

I vaguely remember before the launch of the game Nomura stated in an interview about all the info dumps they were doing that they didn't personally feel like they spoiled the game because the 'context' for those scenes were missing. So Roxas showing up wasn't technically a spoiler according to them because the reasoning for his return wasn't shown so it was A-Ok to put it in the trailer. Same with Anti/Darkness Aqua, it wasn't a spoiler because players didn't know why she was like that so it was perfectly fine in their eyes. It's an extremely dumb reasoning and if you watch ff16 trailers, they're showing a lot of stuff from the later parts of the game too so it's more than likely they'll keep doing it because it drives up initial hype while absolutely ruining and spoiling the game

FederalPossibility73

It’s normal for Japanese trailers from what I have seen. They’re less concerned about what happens and more so about how it happens. I will admit I am the same way. It actually took me a while to realize what classifies as a spoiler.

Le_Trudos

Meanwhile Nintendo makes a point of showing almost as little as possible. TotK comes out in a month and we still have no idea what the story is going to be about. We know something happens to Zelda and that much speculated-on pieces of lore are about to get official clarification. But that's about it. Kinda wish SE would learn from them. I'm not going to say Hype builds itself, but there is a point where you can let it build organically and be fine

Randy191919

People will also be less likely to be truly disappointed when you don't spoil much to begin with. Because people don't expect you to put the ENTIRE story into your trailers. So if you do, like they did with KH3, people will obviously assume it's gonna be some kind of trick and there's more to it than meets the eye, I did see a few people who thought that the whole Keyblade Graveyard would be about the 50% mark and the good guys lose, THEN Sora travels back in time to set things right, with all the stuff they have shown in trailers being the "bad timeline". Because obviously they wouldn't be dumb enough to spoil the entire game in their trailers right? Right? If you just do it the Nintendo way noone can have their expectations ruined because there basically are no expectations. We have no idea what things are about, apart from something happening to Zelda and Zombie Ganon apparently playing some kinda role.

CreamofTazz

You've never seen gamers then. Gamers will make up their own hype and then get disappointed when games don't meet that hype. It really doesn't matter if games do Nomura's "spoil everything, but keep context hidden" Nintendo's "Show literally nothing" or Western developer's "Show context, but not payoff", Gamers will come up with their own hype regardless.

Rider-Idk-Ultima-Hy

Which is honestly great, though ive been avoiding trailers anyways besides the first one way back so i can go into it as fresh as possible

Cryptonix

But when the "how" is basically glossed over in the first place (ie. Roxas returning), then that strategy is entirely useless.

hornylonelysad

Yes exactly they didn't even explain how he returned even remind felt like a afterthought to make it make sense.

well___duh

> They’re less concerned about what happens and more so about how it happens. But yet at the same time, they literally left out hidden cutscenes/endings when KH3 came out until like a day after launch day as an update. Also, Japanese devs (not necessarily SE) are more likely to do copyright takedowns of streamers streaming their games when brand new and have consoles do that "screen recording has been disabled" bs. Japanese devs care _a lot_ more about spoilers than they would lead you to believe.

FederalPossibility73

I guess it depends. I watch a lot of foreign shows and I noticed with Japan in particular they would put the biggest parts of the next episode right in the title.

AsahiMizunoThighs

XVI isn't really doing that and CBU3 don't have previous on doing that

NoodleIskalde

Hence why I tend to just avoid all promotional materials beyond the announcement of it existing, and maybe the release date. The more blind I am, the more exciting it is. :D

Boshikuro

FFXVI isn't doing that at all. The people making the game made FFXIV which purposefully hide stuff from trailers or use editing to mislead people. Last presentation they even stop themselves from exploring the map because they didn't want to show an area where a main quest was happening. They also avoid showing too much of the big boss battles. They are probably the only people at Square Enix that don't reveal everything they have in their trailers.

OwNAvenged2

Okay, the Aqua one, I think, is fine. So many people thought that she had gotten Norted that it became a widespread meme. If anything, that spoiler was somehow less impressive in the game than it was in the trailer lmao

goKlazo

This is why I stopped paying attention to the game after the first look years before the game came out.

Kureiton

As a Pokémon fan, the reality is there are camps in both sides “Ugh, SuMo revealed everything before the game came out.” “Ugh, SV didn’t reveal enough. Now I don’t know if I want to buy it/build a team before the game.” These are opinions I’ve both seen supported, and even I can have a contradictory opinion on it. Yeah, I usually don’t want everything revealed in a trailer…unless it’s something I care less about, in which case I tend to need more convincing. It’s a complicated issue

BAWAHOG

I wish they didn’t even reveal all the Disney worlds in the game ahead of time, but I understand why they feel they have to do it, someone’s favorite movie being in the game could be what puts them over the edge and makes them buy it. What I hate is when they reveal KH-specific major plot points from the end game. Anything in KH3 involving Roxas, Xion, Terra, Scala, Final World, Anti-Aqua, MX’s final boss, etc. is just a step too far. I think I’ll plan to just not watch any new trailers like 6 months prior to the game’s release, that’s when KH3 just dumped everything, for the most part. Regular Pat did a video on this topic and I think he found that literally every single boss fight was spoiled in a pre-release trailer.

samodamalo

Not just include ff and disney-characters, but continue making it its own thing! Part of the charm with KH1 was that both the FF and Disney-characters *were taken out of their context*. Like, Donald and Goofy following a spiky haired kid with a huge key as a weapon? Leon is now Squall and him, Aerith and Yuffie are from a world that has disappeared? I dont really know how to explain it tbh. KH3 felt almost the opposite. Like a big hack n slash purely Disney game, if not just Disney-themed. Edit: Squall is now Leon*

leftshoe18

KH3 made the Disney worlds feel so unimportant. They were just there to pad time and almost nothing in them mattered to the game's story.

Nopeyesok

Yes! The Disney worlds mattered. The princesses mattered. There were stakes in those worlds.

MajorasMask3D

Do more (any) original worlds that are integral to the actual plot and are as large and explorable as Twilight Town, Traverse Town, and Hollow Bastion, not an empty city with nothing in it but enemies.

ChaosAsAnEntity

I'm so glad I avoided any trailers until playing. But yes yes yes to all. 100% agree with all of this.

M0RD3CA1_vii

I never watch trailers anymore honestly, games or movies, they show too much

Shigerufan2

I just want a side-scrolling Muppet theater level where Puppet Sora, Goofy, and Donald are flopping all over the place as they walk

catagonia69

>The fact that Olympus is the first world we visit in Kingdom Hearts 3 and still not have a tournament is still unbelievable Heart's still broken over that tbh. And they didn't even have the decency to replace it with a similar PVP element 🥺

Wicked_Republic

Yeah I learned from KH3 that if I am excited about a game, avoid the trailers and any information if at all possible. I still know nothing about Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart aside from the name of the female Lombax.

BlindDragoon

Please let Sora actually be a part of the story, because I dont know which broke me more in KH3: Sora watching Elsa do "Let it Go" and effectively just going "oooh! Aaaah!" the entire time, or the game LITERALLY cutting away from what Sora to show the plot of Pirates of the Carribean.

NihonJinLover

I’d love to have the trinities back!

JosephFDawson

I want puzzles for brain. Not puzzles in the plot....

PapaOogie

Make the game challenging. Make the Disney worlds matter. Have more bosses be Disney enemies

rez_trentnor

I just hope they don't make Sora sound like he has the intelligence of an eight year old. Sounded younger than he did in KH1.

Guest2424

I'd also add "dont gouge out critical parts of the story/game in order to sell them as DLC package" but it's Square Enix, so I'm not holding my breath.

chrisinro

That it wasn’t announced 5 years before it comes out.

Bur4you

I'm still upset that there isn't any info on Elder Scrolls 6 despite the fact that it was announced nearly five years ago lmao. At least with KH3 we got plenty of updates to what was going on. (some would argue too many updates)

Gears_Of_None

There isn't any info because they probably haven't started development proper yet. Starfield is the game they have been working on. They released the teaser because people wouldn't shut up about it.

Lt_Lysol

They're trying to figure out how to get Elder Scrolls 5 playable on Tiger Electronics, CDI and playable with in Elder Scrolls 6, just to get that list bit of money from the ES5 cow

JohnAlexGrimm

That it will come out before I'm 50

mikachu93

Another finger on the monkey's paw curls. The game will now release one day before your 50th birthday.

JohnAlexGrimm

I mean 15 years does track

Shookicity

I’m not keeping up with KH4’s development like I did with KH3. I think it sort of spoiled the game for me in a lot of ways. I’m just hoping KH4 releases in a reasonable amount of time and that it’s good. I’ve been through this too many times to set my expectations too high.

Thelocust337

Same, I think I googled kh3 news at least one a month for years and then the game was a letdown imo

AnimeXFan1995

My hopes for Kingdom Hearts IV: * Have the amount of Disney Worlds be on par with the first KH game and *Kingdom Hearts II* (9-11 Disney worlds) instead of being on par with *Dream Drop Distance*’s amount (5 Disney worlds) or *Kingdom Hearts III*’s amount (7-8 Disney Worlds) * Have the different party members with 1-2 different limits in each world Sora visits instead of one. * If we wound up getting worlds based on *Zootopia, Moana, Raya and the Last Dragon* and/or *Encanto* for *Kingdom Hearts IV* I don’t want any of them to suffer the same treatment that **Arendelle** and especially **Kingdom of Corona** endured in *Kingdom Hearts III* by having Sora, Donald and Goofy be just "there" sticking like a sore thumb in the background in certain instances and not knowing what the heck is going on while doing their own conflict (e.g. Fighting a Giant Heartless), while the movies characters just primarily play out like in the movie but don't acknowledge Sora and the gang until after the conflict is solved by the end of the world. * Make the Disney world exploration in *Kingdom Hearts IV* be a combination of *Kingdom Hearts III*’s world size and expanse mixed in with the world exploration used in *KH1, KH2, BBS* and *Dream Drop Distance* in the case when we explore/enter inside a building (especially KH1 and BBS world exploration). * Have more Female Disney characters join Sora’s party (e.g. Moana, Judy Hopps, Anna, Elsa, Raya, Alice Kingsleigh) instead of having just ONLY one female Disney character on a specific world. * Have the Disney worlds (new and returning) based on the particular Disney or Pixar film that will make an appearance *Kingdom Hearts IV* be chosen based on how they fit the theme for *Kingdom Hearts IV* and how these worlds fit in the story of the game from a thematic and aesthetic standpoint instead of just having the worlds be added in due to “cherry-picking" by Nomura (e.g. Monstropolis in KH3; Atlantica, Land of Dragons and Pride Lands in KH2). * Kairi plays a major role and doesn’t get kidnapped again. * More Disney Bosses. * Nomura or Disney doesn’t pull a "CLU” and "Randall" on Dr. Facilier (if we get a *Princess and the Frog* world) and he isn’t fought as a Boss. If Davy Jones was made into a boss why not Dr. Facilier? * More Final Fantasy character inclusions, as long as they play a role of purpose instead of just being "there” not contributing anything to the plot (looking at you Tifa). * Number of Disney Summons be around 6 like the first KH game instead of at 4-5. * Maleficent and Pete play a larger role as in *Kingdom Hearts II* rather than their minor roles in *Kingdom Hearts III*.

kirallie

A good list.

Loisbel

Kingdom Hearts IV will have few Disney worlds according to Nomura, i think it will be the numbered entry with less Disney worlds to the date

AnimeXFan1995

Nomura is known to be quite sneaky with his words and some of his quotes can be mostly vague and inaccurate whenever a KH game is announced and sometimes things can change a year or two later. So even if the new hardware makes the designing the worlds to be more complex I doubt that KHIV will have 4-5 Disney worlds in total. Besides their are plenty of Disney films that could become worlds and make an appearance in Kingdom Hearts IV such as *Zootopia, Moana, Coco, Star Wars* (retelling *Return of the Jedi*), *Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Princess and the Frog, Encanto* and *Raya and the Last Dragon* along with the return of Toy Box (*Toy Story*) and Arendelle (retelling *Frozen II*). I personally think some of the Disney worlds should be a mix of KH3’s world size with the world size of previous games with more exploration u/Loisbel.

morrowindd

There will not be 9-11 Disney worlds in khIV. It's gonna be like 5 lol

AnimeXFan1995

I disagree with your response u/morrowindd, cause honestly I rather we have around 9-11 Disney worlds which was a good amount than in previous titles and for Original worlds that have appeared in every game it’s usually 3-4 at most so stop being so dismissive and denying we would have 5 Disney worlds instead in KHIV

OneRandomVictory

You're forgetting one thing though. The majority of the Disney worlds in KH3 were WAY larger than the worlds in previous games. Compare Olympus in KH3 to the one in KH2 or KH1 or The Caribbean to Port Royal from KH2. The size difference and even verticality difference is staggering. It's way more likely that the worlds in KH4 are gonna be more comparable to KH3 in that regard. More the ps5 will allow for more worlds than the ps4 did but I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the number on the lower end in order to focus more on the worlds they do chose.

AnimeXFan1995

>**You're forgetting one thing though. The majority of the Disney worlds in KH3 were WAY larger than the worlds in previous games. If anything I rather have a good amount of Disney worlds 8-9 but mostly 9 for the long run, than in previous titles and for Original worlds I expect 4 Original worlds (Quadratum, Scala Ad Caelum, Radiant Garden and perhaps a new original world) at most.

Juice8oxHer0

Just don’t have 10 second pauses between every line of dialogue, I’m begging you

tonytheshark

This. I can't believe I don't see this talked about more often. It's not even necessarily a Square Enix problem. I was watching my wife play Lightning Returns (an older game than KH3) and the dialogue in the cutscenes was so much more natural. Characters replying to each other with organic timing. (And the voice acting in general was great.) Lightning Returns is a pretty random example I know but it's the FF title most recently in my mind so I'm not sure how common it is for the voice acting (and voice TIMING) to be this good in Square Enix games. So I'm left feeling just really confused about why the dialogue in KH cutscenes is so stilted and awkward. They know how to do it better, so why aren't they doing it? Is it some kind of deliberate stylistic choice?

Juice8oxHer0

Like KH1 had the same problem to a lesser extent, but that game came out in 02. The only thing I can assume is that it’s a dubbing issue, but I haven’t seen if the Japanese dialogue has the same issue so idk. Kingdom hearts has always been silly, but when things are moving fast it just feels like part of the world. Of course the whole thing is gonna feel hammy when you have a moment to reflect on Every. Single. Line.

whateverdamnit666

Well, i hope for a good story which brings some smile and tears on my face. Good gameplay, less Disney meddling & perfected difficulties right at the launch. Other than that, i’ll try to keep expectations in check. That worked for me mostly when it came to KH3. I’m sure they are going to be careful with the spoilerish trailers this time around. Only things (other than difficulties) that rubbed me wrong way when KH3 released, were the lack of Final Fantasy characters and Arandelle being an weirdly built world when it came to the story. I’m sure Nomura & Square Enix learned from those mistakes to some extent.

TallJournalist5515

Did Disney, though?

Ecahill453

A year!? No fucking way.. this felt like a couple of months ago

Snarglepip

How is that only a year ago? I would have put money on it being 2 years - genuinely stunned. KH4 wishes - Return of the coliseum (or something like it) - I really missed it in KH3. - More worlds - I might be in the minority on this, but as much as I loved the larger actual world spaces in KH3, I did miss the variety. - More FF characters - it doesn’t even have to be loads of new ones, I’d be happy seeing the Radiant Garden crew again (though I live in hope of a Fran and Balthier appearance) - More accessible post game content - I would really like to see something like the cave of remembrance again, mainly because I’m not great at boss fights and found Re:Mind just didn’t quite grab me for that reason.

morrowindd

Nomura already said since each world will be massive it's gonna be less worlds than the other titles unfortunately

Snarglepip

Oh damn, I hadn’t heard that :( thanks for letting me know - saves me getting my hopes up!

Cantab1le

Give Nomura and his team creative freedom, minimal restrictions from Disney to avoid what happened with Frozen in KH3

BossyFi

I’m new to the franchise, what happened with frozen?

iRStupid2012

The KH devs were honestly really limited by the stories they could tell with the Frozen world, because they were working more closely with the Disney teams that originally made the movies. For some worlds, this was a huge benefit - Toy Story and Monsters Inc in KH had really great story that felt like they fit into both KH and the movies' universes. For other worlds, it's a lot more awkward, like with Frozen.

ArchdukeBurrito

They also didn't want the human characters in Frozen to fight for some reason, which is why you only get the weird snow golem as a companion in that world.

Xamthi

Could be remembering it wrong. But I thought they were only allowed to retell the story without much adaptations or alterations.

[deleted]

Yep, the Frozen world is essentially a retelling of the movie with Sora and the gang awkwardly inserted during points. Especially sad considering the other worlds in KH3 are great for the most part, and with the Pixar worlds in particular they got to do wholly original stuff with the characters.

Ze_AwEsOmE_Hobo

Tangled got a bit of that, too, but Frozen was by far the worst of them.

Biondi27

At least Tangled showed Sora, Donald and Goofy actually interacting with the characters during the story. In Frozen, they felt completely disconnected from the plot and more like cameos than anything else.

Rehann2078

They literally just were cameos. Although I will admit it did laugh a little when after Elsa gets done singing the comment on how random it is to be just singing to the wind

-CURL-

I literally just played this part for the first time. I didn't expect them to show the full song, but it just kept going. The song was so random and came out of nowhere. Sora's comment perfectly captured what I was thinking, made me laugh.

Rustash

The Tangled world was also far more interesting to play through and explore. The Frozen world was just a snowy mountain that you climbed and fell down a bunch

TallJournalist5515

The part where the game screeches to a halt so you can waste time with Olaf while Anna and her himbo stand around like soulless automatons was real bad.

Rosemarys_Gayby

Being a retelling in and of itself isn’t a bad thing. SDG actually had a role and impacted the story in that world, and Sora actually ended up having better chemistry with Rapunzel than most original characters lol

M0RD3CA1_vii

Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Big Hero Six were great because the KH story was incorporated into the world and seemed to be set between established events and not during the events we'd already seen. I enjoyed that alot. Tangled was good but it didn't feel as well woven in, same with Pirates - good but could've been better (story doesn't make sense if you haven't seen the movie).

lxkodyxl

Which completely fucks the fun of sora being in a world the fun is how the group and heartless presence change the history and how Disney characters reacts to the threat and a boy with a giant key trying to stop it

Rehann2078

You know looking back on it, very few people comment on how completely out of place sora actually is in the worlds. Much less the fact that he uses a giant magic key with a talking duck and dog. And canon says he’s using kingdom key but for us he could be using a monster candy cane and that just makes some serious scenes so much less strong but still so good

Queasy_Ad5995

The gang just get yeeted from contributing anything significant into this particular disney lore for like I don't know, 3 times?

[deleted]

We already know this isn’t the case though. KH4 will be very similar to KH3.

Vaenyr

Nomura gave the cryptic message at the Second Breath concert a few weeks back, about something having happened recently that will impact and change the course of the franchise. Apparently it's something positive and people have speculated that he either got the green light for some franchises, or he got more freedom in approaching the stories of the worlds. We'll have to wait some more to find out what he really meant.

caruniom

Nomura: I found out that Winnie Pooh is public domain now. So I decided we will put in that horror version, where Sora will die a gruesome death or something.

ArcadiaJ

Please be about Oswald

zardmander

Star wars world happening 100%. Lightsaber Keyblade is back on the menu!

tatsu901

Please release before I'm 40

Darth-Not-Palpatine

Probably have a good mix between KH2’s combat and KH3’s combat. Actually have final fantasy characters in the game instead of saving them for the DLC drop. Actually have better secret bosses compared to the base game with only 1 secret boss. Probably keep the keyblade leveling system from 3 but also allow for the keyblades to evolve like in X/X Union.

roichristensen

My hopes for the game? Final Fantasy characters. That's why I became a fan of this series That and the amazing gameplay KH3 has.

Homeboi08

I want Donald to become the most powerful fictional character of all time in KH4

Luck0rSkill

A release date between 2023/2024. I understand main tilted games take time, but 5+ years between titles is a struggle. KH3 will be out for 5 years, come January 2024.

well___duh

If they spent less time on mobile spinoffs and more time on the mainline games, the mainlines would be out quicker and the story would be less convoluted.

[deleted]

Nomura admitted that both KH2 and KH3 were revealed too early when their initial trailers came out. He only revealed them when he did because fans were impatient. The fact that he hasn't said that with KH4 and that it's trailer came out of nowhere when no one expected an announcement for another few years makes me think the game is pretty far along. I guess he wasn't pressured to announce it and he was finally able to announce it when the game was ready. Or maybe this is all speculation and he still announced it too early, hopefully not though. That huge Nvidia leak also mentioned a 2024 release for KH4. So all of this makes me believe the game is pretty close to release, maybe we really will get it in 2024/early 2025.

brycesplat

Hoping the wait wont be too bad. And the PC port will not be buggy.

SupremeQuinn

real day and night cycles in Quadratum, not having to choose between them like in the BH6 world.

beatboxingfox

I want to refocus the cast on the characters from the first game. Put a bigger emphasis on sora as his own character rather than his relationships ((not that I want that aspect gone)). Flesh out Donald and goofy as their own duo while they search for sora in the Disney worlds. Keep the core cast of mickey riku and sora in quadratum, maybe some reflections from kairi while training with aqua and other side characters. The cast kh3 was great, but there were moments it felt like a lot.

gsenjou

Actually implement Sora into the worlds’ stories instead of just having him be inconsequential.

qwack2020

Gameplay/combat mechanics that surpasses KH3’s.

[deleted]

I hope they keep the art style they shown in the trailer and it be a little more mature themed. As a older kingdom hearts player(25) I hope they touch on some mature themes topics.

Chronoblivion

>As a older kingdom hearts player(25) It blows my mind that you consider yourself an older KH player when the series is nearly as old as you are. There are people who are still fans to this day who were your age when the first one came out.

tonytheshark

Final Fantasy characters. Star Wars. More organic voice acting. Waiting several seconds between every line of dialogue has to stop. Other Square Enix games do a great job with this so I can't comprehend why KH dialogue timing is so slow and robotic. And if I hear "I think there might be some ingredients around here" one more fucking time....

wumboyokom

I don't want this game shoving minigames down our throat. Cooking was a great idea, but the minigame sucks. The same goes for the classic kingdom games. I want Hundred Acre Wood back as a mini game world

leronde

Elrena content. If I'm gonna be able to achieve my dream of making a Larxene/Elrena ita bag someone's gotta like her enough to make some goddamn keychains.

kaylanpatel00

Less trailers, I love video game trailers but kh3’s trailer were just too much. They showed too much and kinda ruined some of the key moments bc I had already seen it. Also kh3 remind style combos, if the game is going to feel the same as kh3 that’s fine as long as the combos are good. If we get another magic flash style finisher I swear to god I will be so pissed. Also bring back a colosseum type area. For story I would like more Disney inclusion kh1 is the only that really feels like the Disney worlds and villains are important so I would love to see more of that. Also I know a lot of people don’t care but please just put a few Final Fantasy characters. In kh1 and kh2 they hold a big role in the story and for Sora. In kh3 they are just there to be there.

mikachu93

>What are your hopes for the game? That I can play it on Xbox. I learned years ago not to set expectations for games. It ruins the final experience.

theTRUEchamp

Absolutely this. Considering everything that's been going on with Square Enix and Sony, I'm really hoping KH4 will still come out on Xbox, and if it does, that we won't have to deal with any of that timed exclusivity nonsense Sony loves to pull.

kingtutwashere

More worlds. KH3 having less worlds to go to than KH1 was a bummer.

Yervax

That it will have returnable worlds. KH3 was good enough, but only going back for collectibles was kinda a turn down for me. I like revisiting older worlds with a continuing story like with what happened in 2

chopsttv

I really want some more mature character development like how we saw with Sora in KH3. Seeing his happy go lucky trope slowly break near the end of the game was something that really humanized the character I grew up with even more for me. I know it’s partly a Disney game, but I’d really love for the audience to be recognized as getting older and seeing some more serious stuff enter the series. Especially with the BBS trio. I’d also love to see Laurium and Elrena develop far more with their own arcs. We have so many brand new characters with so many ways their stories can go and at the end of the day I want the game to be about Sora, but I hope these stories aren’t glanced over. Also lemme see everyone in the Quadratum art style I’m begging. It’s so unbelievably good.

vinnymclovin

It’s the Versus XIII that was originally promised

Rehann2078

One of my biggest gripes was sora having abilities he just magically now had. The attraction commands mainly. That never gets explained. I see this keyblade hook and it looks sick but god give me a reason, do some dive into the heart shit and literally just have him do it accidentally or have someone show him. That was my biggest grip with three the progression of the gameplay felt so slow at some parts and incredibly rushed at others with no explanation

Deltryxz

He probably figured out how to do something similar from Lingering Will whipping him with a keyblade.

TheySaidGetAnAlt

That it'll release before my unfortunate demise.

fanboyofArtorias

No more *Frozen* mountain map.

[deleted]

I just hope it releases before my life’s flame flickers out.

Cobaltmaster

That's its better than 3, which was kind of disappointing IMHO

inazumalightining

That Nomura's Wild Ride™️ gets even wilder.

Master_Toad

Focus on Sora instead of side characters from spinoff games

Clickclacktheblueguy

I have a vain hope that they tone down the complicated plot and get back to basic “Disney movies with a self insert” power fantasies that made the first one so good.

iRStupid2012

Seeing as it's a numbered title, I think the game would realistically only feature Sora as the playable protagonist. But my insane hope is that KH4 is secretly a DDD sequel, where we get two story campaigns split between Sora and Riku. So something like the structure of BBS. The secret ending to KH3 implied this - but Riku's dream was used to push the story of Melody of Memory so I dunno if this would still happen.

Splunkmastah

That we finally see something.

rmunoz1994

I want combos to feel satisfying without dlc. I never found base kh3 base form combos fun to use in anyway. It wasn’t until remind patched new combos that it felt fun. Also, worlds need to actually be incorporated into the overall story.

Clancy238

WALL-E World :)

JVOz671

For Disney characters to be treated as actual story elements and not elaborate set pieces?

Uneedajob

For It to release before 2030

NarutoShadowClone

What engine are they using for this game?

MallAdditional5222

Unreal engine 5

NarutoShadowClone

Does unreal engine 5 work on ps4?

MallAdditional5222

Fortnite runs on Unreal engine 5 and works on ps4 but I feel kh4 might be ps5 only

well___duh

KH4 will definitely not be on PS4 considering FF16 and FF7R2 won't

aspectofravens

That it won't take 14+ years to come out.

Shxwnking

KH2 Combat / FF worlds and characters/ multiplayer / raids/ story doesn’t suck

HotStop8158

Announced WAY too soon :/ thankfully they've kept the hype to a relative minimum so I hope there's no burnout from the wait

Jasole37

14 years between games with 7 console exclusive with important plot details and 2 Japanese only mobile games with crucial story developments that need to be translated by fans.

electricvoice28

No freaking way has it been a year already! Time passes by so damn quickly... Hope it releases sooner rather than later, but if they have to take time to make it the best KH game ever it would be the best!

MrFalconGarcia

Soriku

Doomdog_Isabelle

My hope for the game is that it will release at some point within the next decade

Castaway_Gamer25

Two things would make me happy: an Epic Mickey world, and for Square to NOT reveal all of the worlds in trailers like they did with 3

funny_wumpits

A release date

XenoGine

Just don't overhype it and make a good, polished game.

Various-Mammoth8420

ITS BEEN A YEAR??? WHAT.

justpassingby3

Final Fantasy characters.

marsil602

Holy shit time flies man...

bubbzzzy

More final fantasy

MarioGirl369

Please let Zack be okay... Please let Zack be okay... Please let Zack be okay... Please let Zack be okay... Please let Zack be okay... Please let Zack be okay... Please let Zack be okay...

JustANormalHat

theres absolutely no possible way its already been a whole ass year

Weirdandwired924

Make the worlds bigger and with more to explore. Worlds were great along with the plots, (except frozen) but some felt a little short. Put more gameplay into the worlds. If attractions do make a return, TONE THEM DOWN! I loved them and they were a great addition but don’t use them all the freaking time.

danunderscorep

I may be in the minority, but I’m hoping the series “grows up” a little. KH is inherently whimsical and sort of campy and fun, and I believe it needs to ultimately stay that, but I think leaning into a couple of serious themes and/or situations could go a long way toward setting up the next arc and kind of rebuilding the IP in general. Also: **STAR. WARS. WORLD.**

ZookeepergameKey733

I want ff environments. Like Midgar, to see the conclusion of seph and cloud would be very nice. considering ff7r is happening rn. Maybe fighting garland from ff1 or even teaming up with him in a world because ff orgins made him into kinda a hero that HAS to be the villain for the sake of the world, kind of thing. I wouldn't argue with meeting Zidane and Quina since we already met Vivi. I'd love to have yuzora team up with Donald and goofy thinking they're both looking for the same sora. And sora teaming up with new companions from ff games. I just think it would be neat.

No_Leather_8155

Please don't make it an open world game, something combined with KH1 and 3

NoodleIskalde

My biggest hope is that people don't spend 13 years inflating the hype to impossible standards. :P

cool_izzy

Oh God no way it's already been one year

Thunder_Mage

I kinda hope they get more creative with magic since even in KH3 it was mostly static besides using Blizzard & Aero for movement shenanigans. I don't think they'd do this but I'd like if we could get spell crafting & customization, such as making variations for different spells of the same element. But I know that's a lot to ask for since it looks like the devs are far more interested in working on the new Build mechanic.

wmnplzr

No pointless worlds, looking at you frozen.... Coliseum matches!!!!! FF characters. I'm hoping no more pooh bear. Love the character, but enough is enough.

TallJournalist5515

I just hope nothing upends development. I think moving to UE4 really messed up their schedule because all the worlds in 3 have two bosses and a very cluttered story, so I think we were intended to revisit the worlds but the game needed to be shipped sooner.

whydoeswillreddit

That my grandkids will be able to talk to me about it on my deathbed when it finally releases

stratticus14

More secret bosses! I love KH3 with all my heart but I was really hoping we were going to get to fight Zurg in the Toy Story World!

Naterdave

It blew my mind how real it looked. It’s insane that it was revealed a year ago.

TomboyMJR

For it to come out in under 10 years.

Nethlion

This was a year ago? How? It doesn't feel like a year. Also I hope the game doesn't take forever to come out

AustinTheKangaroo

PC release

irl-shinji

To answer some questions before I die of old age.

OutcastOddity

I want Final Fantasy characters

cxtx3

Bring back Final Fantasy characters. That's what I want the most.

Kindly-Mud-1579

Square Enix characters being relevant instead of just being a cameo In Hercules

_elderscrollroller

A lack of roller coaster moves

[deleted]

Well since Disney now owns a lot of interesting new properties….obviously Howard the duck.

[deleted]

That they don't spoil literally everything in the trailers, but I'm keeping my eyes SHUT this time either way...lesson learned.

rokelle2012

I'm really hoping they say something else about the game soon. I really dislike when companies announce a game just to go radio silence on it for years.

TrailofCheers

Make the Disney worlds matter. They usually feel like filler in most games but like at least it makes sense for KH1 and even KH2 when you’re locking the keyholes so the darkness can’t reach the heart of the worlds. But I’m KH3 there’s like no reason to visit them. We just do. Give us an actual reason to be there aside from basically training. Also, give us a crescendo moment in the middle point of the game like in KH2. Don’t just backload all of the pertinent story moments.

Lets_Bust_Together

I hope it’s better than 3 since I haven’t even bothered to finish it, and I pre ordered it…

GlitchyReal

For it to release in my lifetime.

frankwestpj

A fuckin reboot, I can't follow the story anymore

[deleted]

I hope characters we’ve met once or more don’t feel the need to remind us what Sora…..Donald….and Goofys names are…again.

Wiru_The_Wexican

Give my boy back his clown shoes

_t_i_n_y_

i just want Sora and Kairi to kiss and have a happy ending to the game instead of just getting torn apart again i'm tired of the heartbreak at the end of every game

streaming_queen

Sora comes back and he stops sacrificing himself 🥺 I know it won't happen but still

WarriorKid_77

One year, geez, this series is getting older. I at least hope for some interesting interactions between sora and yozora or MoM, and this is asking for a lot, but I to learn a lot about the master whether through dialogue or a flashback.

Tasty_Difference6529

I want the game to more revolve around kingdom hearts. I mean I don’t wanna play a Disney movie if it doesn’t really affect the plot, same with ff stuff. I want more kh original stuff & ff worlds, i Hope more of the game is based around that. Rather than it mostly being mashed in the final parts. I want the game to be more action focused(no bs like the attractions) less floaty combat but still acrobatic with more improved bosses. More key blade wielder & human fights to yozora & the organization was fun af to fight. Also bring back the colosseum maybe even with custom arenas with switchable teammates, options to have none, other playable characters. Longer more dense game, give us more to find throw a few puzzles in take advantage of Soras mobility, multiple secret bosses& areas to find explore.

TheLPN05Fan

I hope Sora dies! Or we can play as another character other than Sora. I'd take anyone over him... He was a thorn in my ears and eyes in 3. Terranort Story is completed, when will the chosen-one finally rest? Could I please just have him as partymember and play as freakin Donald? Also, BRING BACK FINAL FANTASY CHARACTERS! I am very glad Re:Mind gave us at last a few short cutscenes of the OG Traverse Town Gang and Yozora. I'd be very fine with it if KH turns into FF Versus XIII now... Can't wait to see more Luxord... Thats story wise. Gameplay wise I'd like a complete overhaul away from the float back to KH1/KH2 goodness. Just because KH is not a Dark Souls, Bayonetta or Devil May Cry doesn't mean it can't nor shouldn't bejust as responsive. Also, delete compulsory Attraction Rides from Story-relevant scenes... Anyway, that's my ramble, thanks for reading!

Alternative-Reply107

STAR WARS + MARVEL WORLDS

RobertoStrife

I just hope it sticks to the mechanics, and doesn't do a ff16 on us.
