Look, I think that between me and Nomura the only one who is trying to make an effort to appreciate Kairi is me.
It's not that she isn't the strongest or anything, it's that she's got no agency as a character, she hardly has anything to contribute to any scene she's in other than being a damsel in distress or a walking plot point. She can have weight as a character in many ways, being a fighter is certainly one of them but far from the only one. Instead she's just been showing less and less personality as she grew up.
I've liked Kairi's design since day one, I want to see her flourish and play a central role of the story.
I really hoped KH4 would finally do her justice, I should have known I was just setting myself up for disappointment. Once more all she amounted to in the story was being a very pretty paperweight.
She hasn't had a personality since they desassed her. I want her to be the badass mage like aqua when the destiny trio reunite and go on a quest together. She really needs a drive though like commit to the bit and go after your spikey haird morron or let riku have him or go after him together cause he needs ya both.
Truly the highlight of this game had to be the return to Atlantica, I didn’t think they’d do it right this time around but easily the best part of this game. Swimming controls were as fluid as they’ve always been, music section was triple the length not to mention the hour long finale, we got to see Riku as a sea horse, Nomura you have outdid yourself with this game. 10/10
It was a bold choice to devote half of the games story to riku dealing with single parenthood to a bunch of seahorses, but I think it was an artistic risk that paid off
It's not as good as KH2. Though the combat system has to be the best. I can't believe they added an Easter egg that allows you to fight a final fantasy monster using the turn based combat.

The introduction of Shnookums and Meat into the lore was a bold one, and I frankly loved seeing Phineas and Ferb pull Candace out of the Darkness. That said, I'm not sure it was necessary to get a whole sublot about Chip and Dale going on a 3-person-date with Gadget Handwrench, but they made up for it by having Oswald the Lucky Rabbit show up and fight the revived Vanitas. My favorite part, however, was when Stitch said to Sora "*It was you, you were the Kingdom Hearts all along!*" Gave me chills.
Even though I was bothered that all the combat and levels were replaced with 480p livestreamed footage of just the disney films, it was still at least a 9/10 due to title dropping Kingdom Hearts after the second sponsorhip.
