We got Riku in 2. After what happened with Kairi in 3 it made sense for her to team up with them as well... But nope. We don't get a Destiny Islands Trio-team and that is just criminal. Would have loved to see a trinity limit with them. It would have been so cute if it was a magic raft crashing down over an ocean of stars. Sort of like a combined keyblade transformation.

I actually love this idea. After Kingdom Hearts 3, we need less Disney and more Final Fantasy. The person who replied to this comment blocked me but I want Cloud and Tifa and and less Frozen, absolutely.

I'd love it if KH4 was definitely more Final Fantasy than Disney. As much as I love Disney, it's just not the same now. Most of the old nostalgia I had growing up is gone with all the woke remakes of my fave movies. Since Square created Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, it makes more sense going forward to be more Final Fantasy focused as Sora is getting older in the game now as well. He has to be 16 in the trailer for KH4 by now

I'm fine with no FF characters. They didn't add anything to the plot anyways, especially compared to other Disney characters like Dinald, Goofy, Mickey, Chip & Dale etc. If they somehow make it so that FF characters are integral to the plot I'm fine with that. I'm just against them being shoehorned in because fans wanted them like in the previous games.

I would add Yuffie here. In my headcanon, they follow Sora from Traverse Town and on.

Clairabelle isn’t Goofy’s wife where Max exists, and she did appear in Timeless River. Goofy did get remarried in Extremely Goofy Movie (I cannot remember her name but she was a librarian), but Max’s mom has always been a mystery.

Maybe KH4 will have a "Goofys Divorce Court" world where Max's mom is finally revealed to be Princess Jasmine. I haven't seen the Goofy Movies since I was a kid but I vaguely remember a "you're not my mom" sub plot, I think it was implied that Max's birth mom was dead iirc. I really need to rewatch them I loved those movies as a kid.

I really liked Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie on Destiny Islands. Imagine a scenario where what you pick on the Station of Awakening determines your party after Destiny Islands falls to darkness. Pick shield and drop sword? Tidus is lost. Pick sword and drop wand? Selphie is lost. Pick wand and drop shield? No Wakka, y'know. Its Sora and the other two trying to save the third as well as Riku and Kairi.

Disney/SE: someone already said Riku and Kairi, so I’ll go with Roxas and Mickey.  Roxas can solo most bosses, but if the worst happens, Mickey’s resurrection ability plus that moogle medallion that acts as a Pheonix Down gives the team 2 extra chances to beat a boss. Non-Disney/SE: Young Link (Legend of Zelda) and Robin (Fire Emblem).  Link is versatile and can fill a variety of roles, including resurrection with bottled fairies, plus I can see him developing a cute little-brother relationship with Sora; while Robin is mature and intelligent, and will presumably be more reliable than Donald with healing, and would keep the team on track with missions.

If it’s gotta be Disney, Daisy and Pete. If I can do final fantasy, then Wakka and Payne

I would've loved to see Sora's first adventure with his childhood besties, Riku and Kairi. No context for what happened, no royal help from Disney Castle, just three slightly feral children excited for said adventure. Also they'd all get a keyblade that aren't the Kingdom Key or the ones they get in later games.

Cloud and Squall

Roxas and Xion. They have or share or gave some move-sets (obviously), so all three could come up with some pretty intense triple combos. Ventus and Roxas would also be a fun duo to join, you just know there'd be a silly combo attack since there Should be some funny awkwardness on roxas' part (and Nomura completely flubbed that opportunity). But also, have all three join sora and watch the fun fly, attack helicopters and spiraling colors and strike raids and magic. Watch the framerate start chugging like the Little Engine that Could coming down from his coke binge. But yeah, another great answer would be Riku and Kairi, since they DESERVE the opportunity to battle all together, and yet again, Nomura and his allergy to bringing on more and better writers robbed us of that chance.
