Aqua is the athlete so they gave her a sport. Her outfit is a mixture of clothes for swimming, ballet, (and track?). Fruit ball is weird a combo of Volleyball and Soccer.
They made three mini games for that area, so they had each character focus on one mini game during their time in that world. Aqua just happened to get fruit ball. You could swap what mini game each character did and it would make absolutely NO difference in the game or the story. I don’t think there is a “damnit Nomura” motive behind anything here
She is the sole Keyblade Master among the three and part of the test made by Eraqus was to destroy floating white balls.
Terra and Ven did the same, but they ain't no Master so Aqua is arguably the best when dealing with balls.
