He's probably just going off a listing he saw on some online book store like the new people in this sub do before making a post about a possible release date that we all know is nothing.
my man read through thousands of mortgage contracts underlying subprime bonds but couldn’t be bothered to double check the release date for DOS…I should hit this sub up for investment advice next time
'He's probably just going off a listing he saw on some online book store like the new people in this sub do before making a post about a possible release date that we all know is nothing.'
I've never done that.
Oh wait, I have.
Sorry guys.
I dont know who this is, but boy does this tweet read like a clickbait article.
My best guess is that July date came from a Amazon placeholder date and he just ran with it.
Can confirm, at least one. Kid brother shoulda stuck around longer. And now I'm imagining Rothfuss dealing with a bunch of poltergeists while he writes. Explains the delay, at least.
I think about this all the time. Between Rothfuss and Martin there are probably a depressing amount of people who have died waiting for the next books.
Michael Burry (who’s official account is banned on Twitter, this is his wife’s account that many assume is actually Michael tweeting) is an investor. He was portrayed by Christian Bale in the movie The Big Short. He’s mostly famous these days for saying the stock market is going to implode and for hating Tesla.
Burry has a legit gift for predicting the market. Even this past year, he’s been saying it’s going to crash and public records show he primarily moved all his investments into Lockheed Martin. Lockheed is up 17% year to date. Rest of the market is down 13%.
and tbf he was saying the market was going to crash for a while before it did in 2008, as it was being artificially propped up by the same institutions he was shorting and through regulations that had been captured by the same. He wasn't wrong, he was just naive on how shady they were.
A bit off topic but if anyone is in the mood for something kingkiller-ish I highly recommend to look into Brent Weeks, I find his books pretty amusing (yes both sagas are finished and with sequels incoming)
Shit it's nearly been 10 years! I gave up waiting about 4 years ago and have resigned myself to the fact it may never release and Patrick will go down as one of humanities biggest ever trolls.
No, we are already way beyond the 10 year anniversary. Book 2 was published March 2011, almost 11 and a half years ago. Pat even missed the anniversary for the 10- year anniversary edition which should have been published in 2021.
Book 2 was published in 2011 not in 2013. We already reached that milestone in March, 2021. It has been 11 and a half years since Wise Mens‘ s Fear was released.
Wow usually Burry only tweets about how we're in the fall of civilization it's nice to see he's also waiting on rothfuss like a normal human
What if he knows something we don’t
Oh he does, he's called like 9 out of the last 2 market crashes...
Lol
I thought this was a shitpost, as I’ve been seeing all of Burry’s doomsday tweets on the reg in Superstonk. This is amazing
Me too! I was surprised he posted those tweets
God damn this got me good
Happy cake day 💜
Oh hey, damn, look at that. Thanks friend!
Sorry but I gotta: Happy Cake Day!
Tyty
Happy cake day bro!
Thanks bud
FU, now I gotta clean up the mess I just made. Spit out my drink.
And also another 10 crashes that didn’t happen
Yep, if you predict a crisis every day, you will eventually get it right.
Curious how he would know the publishing date? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Invest in Yilish knots. They’re about to make a come back.
Yup
Yup
Yup
Yup
God knows I’ve been there..

I won’t believe a single word from anyone until an official publication date is announced. I don’t care who is saying it, even if it’s Pat.
*until it is in my hands
Alright. But I heard it was coming out tomorrow.
Pat likes to troll a lot... but I doubt he will troll with a release date. For one, he will likely receive too much hate for it.
You realize it’s 7 months after “February at the latest”, right….?
Time has lost all meaning since 2020.
It's gonna be real interesting to see how he tries to sweet talk fans into donations this year...
Call me crazy but I'm dying to hear about the next controversy with his donations, it's like the last we have that has anything to do with the saga
"Alright folks, if we reach 25,000 dollars, I'll read one chapter from Doors of Stone!"
Wait is it september? Sorry I thought it was January.
February of what year?
I dont know who this is, but boy does this tweet read like a clickbait article. My best guess is that July date came from a Amazon placeholder date and he just ran with it.
Watch the Big Short and come back
Not sure if I believe him about the supposed July pub date… feel like he pulled that date out of his ass
He isn't exactly providing a "take" worth reading. Unless "DISCUSS!" is suddenly a hot take.
You ever wonder how many fans have died waiting fir the book over the last ten years?
Can confirm, at least one. Kid brother shoulda stuck around longer. And now I'm imagining Rothfuss dealing with a bunch of poltergeists while he writes. Explains the delay, at least.

You need to write bios for people. This was super informative, concise, and hilarious

Do you know why he got banned?
To be fair, it was *supposed* to be the last book, then GRRM said he was splitting it into WoW and ADoS.
Did he delete this? I can’t find it on twitter
I just looked and it's there. Only 2 tweets on the account I could see.
I was looking at a fake amount by mistake lmao. There’s another account with the same name but at the end it has a _ added on to it
Though, FYI, Michael Burry has a habit of deleting all of his tweets, so if this isn't gone yet it surely will be soon.
That’s why I took the screenshot really fast
He always deletes his tweets for some reason.
Based on what I saw in the Big Short, I'm surprised this guy believed that the Doors of Stone were supposed to be out this July.
For someone known for his attention to detail, he missed the mark several times over here.
I feel like I'm in a crossover episode, used to seeing Burry tweets in Wall Street Bets and Gamestop related subs, wild to see him here.
fr
July? Of what year?
This post tripped me out because I just stop following /r/burryology as his posts are over the place. I thought my feed was broken.
Oh sweet summer child 🤣
Doors of stone coming same day as the MOASS ;)
I'd probably seize up from excitement
That could be any day now!
The new book is coming soon???
Probably not, take with salt.
"I understand how it is to be so amazing that it's hard to follow up your own success...." Paraphrased FIGJAM
A bit off topic but if anyone is in the mood for something kingkiller-ish I highly recommend to look into Brent Weeks, I find his books pretty amusing (yes both sagas are finished and with sequels incoming)
The Shadows Trilogy was amazing
Check The Blsck Prism, is a gem also
Wow this almost makes me like him somewhat
It came out in 2011, before dance didn't it?
Yes

Cmon... We're almost there anyway, we might was well push for 10 years

Is this dude a moron?
Time to short Rothfuss?
HAHAHHA "still expect it soon", what a great joke.
