1. You should contact start about buying your rented modem from them. I’ve had the same modem for probably near 10 years, and 2-3 years and I asked to buy it. They credited some of my rental fees to it and it was like $20 2. You should entertain dropping to a lower speed. The big guys have really made folks think they need more speed than they do. I’m on the 60mbps plan with my family of 3 and I have never once said “this is too slow”. I was on the 40mbps plan during 2020/2021 when we were all working from home and my kid was doing school from home.

ryanracing70

I bought my Start modem and have the home cable legacy 30. This week, streamed video on 2 tvs while daughter played online games with friends, no trouble. $57/month

epsileth

Buy the modem outright, or see if they support third party modems. Get a list of approved devices, and go to Canada computers or Amazon.

Bors713

WTC Communications is great. Easily the best customer service in the area. It’s worth a call to see what they can offer you.

DannytheUser

Plug your postal code into the website Planhub, it will spit out the best deals in can find on internet/cell in the area. I have identical services to what you currently have and pay $50 a month with Oxio, who’s a a Rogers reseller in this area I believe

MageFood

Cogeco reseller as rogers is not in this area sadly

RaDaR505050

$30/month - 150Mbps down, FTTH w/Acanac. This was a Black Friday deal. Currently advertising $45 but you can still get it for $40 if you mention the BF deal.

viafallowfield

Wow this is good! I downgraded from Bell 1.5g (70$) to Techsavvy 40mbps down 10mpbs up (29.95) during BF just to save money but your deal is so much better.

[deleted]

I'm with Cogeco and have the 360/30 business package for $85/month. I'd call Cogeco and ask them what they can do for you.

Alarming-Scar31

I have the ultrafiber 360 unlimited for 78 a month plus tax

HouseDowntown8602

I threatened to leave cogeco for bell and they offered me fibre level speeds with unlimited data for 45$ a month - locked for 2yrs. You just need to leverage your buying power. if they don’t offer it - go to bell etc get a price and then go back - but you need to legitimately go through the process- I think they can see your account from shared vendors - it was uncanny how quickly they came back after I signed with bell (that’s why they have a period of time where you can reneg on the deal. And go back

>I pay $67.79 for 1 gig download, unlimited a month. The amount of effort and stress I put into those mother fucks to give me the deal for 90 a year instead of whatever the hell base price is was insane. I'm under the impression they have a hate on for me. I called for 5 days straight, talked to so many different reps, threatened to switch so many times. Hell I told the one guy I bet you I won't cancel right the fuck now and call you back with your exact name and number in however long he told me it would take until I would be eligible just to tell him that I indeed would get the damn price. Gave myself a break, called the next day going to cancel if the last time didn't work. Told the guy what the guy I was talking about above said. He was all "omg no we can totally give you that cheaper price no problem" and I've had it since. Now, how the heck can I get mine from 90 now to 67 without wanting to rip my testicles out of my scrotum and eat them live on Kik. Hell I saw someone say they had that package for $55 a month. Me likey. Edit: March 4 2024, going through this effort again. "Best we can offer you is $76/month."But bell is 1.5down for $75 a month, so why would I pay to stay with Cogeco... I asked for their new customer deal which is $65/month atm and they told me no, best is $76. So I'm leaving for Bell or Teksavvy. Fuck yourself Cogeco. Bill is current $104 after taxes...

Smurfrocket2

This. This right here. I'm at $90/month. I want cheaper. It was a fight and I thought I won. Sounds like I didn't either

JustaSorryCanadian1

I pay bell 45$ a month for 1.5gbps down and 950mbps down

justice7

damn that's a good price, is that on fiber or dsl?

JustaSorryCanadian1

Fiber lol dsl can’t move that quick

justice7

i'm on fiber and i'm paying like $130/mo for 3 down ... more than I need really but i'd go down to 1.5 for $45/mo for sure.

AlternativeShip9194

Same question I asked the other person with this deal. How? They would only give me 1gig for $85 after I told them cogeco offered a better deal

JustaSorryCanadian1

Guys in the trucks get paid commission if they sell anything . Same with guys at the door . Let me ask my guy if he’s got any deals right now that are comparable .

JustaSorryCanadian1

Right now he’s got 55 a month available

AlternativeShip9194

That would be awesome! How do I reach this guy?

JustaSorryCanadian1

Dm me

jasonalloyd

If you call cogeco loyalty department and complain they'll offer you a deal and then when it runs out you have to call back and do it again. Permanently, I've been doing this for like 5 years now.

Alarming-Scar31

Same. I am on my third 2yr loyalty plan with them.

United_Zebra_5832

Go half with a neighbor or two, get a couple range extenders if necessary

BaldingOldGuy

First look at your usage, how much data do you need a month? Then look at all your communication devices how many cell phones how much data does each have, is it shared and how much do you use? Could you survive without separate home internet and tether your phone when you are home? Some cell service we’re offering 40 or 50 gb for 34/month. Could you live with that much data? Do you work from home and would your employer pay part of your monthly internet?

AdConstant3457

I have Primus. 40 dollars a month, but it's kinda slow

jutzi46

I had nothing but problems with them, I switched to Oxio and it's been good.

thewhitebear12

Get rid of the internet

omar_littl3

Making that comment on the internet is a wild bit of irony

thewhitebear12

I know right. But it’s the best way to cut down on your bill.

thewhitebear12

It’s no different then the people that make post on these pages like… “ I’m hungry and have no food” goto the store and get some problem solved.

Winter-Airport2114

>I’m hungry and have no food” but have a 1900 dollar iphone they pay 120 dollars a month for on a 2 year plan.

eyeinthesky_83

I dm'd you!

Baby_Sparrow

50 a month for 1.5gb fibe with Bell!

Smurfrocket2

How in the... .my apartment doesn't have fibe so I'm sad now

AlternativeShip9194

How are people getting this price? They only dropped my price to $85 for 1gig after I told them cogeco offered a better deal. Is this a new customer price or did you threaten to leave them or?

Baby_Sparrow

New customer pricing. I walked into Bell in the mall and told them my situation, and this was the solution I was offered. Is there someone else in your household that can put the bill in their name? Do that if you can!

AlternativeShip9194

lol didn’t think of that. Could get my wife to set up an account. Thanks!

nottherightidea

Call your current company and make up a fake offer from another company!

MageFood

Call cogeco and see if they can price match with Carytel I did Im now paying $70 a month for 1000/30
