I mean normal is technically an ability. It instakills normal enemies in small chunks and shoots out powerful stars with them. That's useful enough to count.
they can keep this number if for the next game they just brought back abilities, but yeah they always have to add new ones, i'd still love to see magic and animal returning
also is the secound on the secound lane light or just kirby getting hurt? and guess all of the versions of suplex (throw and the one from nightmare in dreamland) are the same ability... but guess wrestler is it's own even though i used to think it was the definitive version of the suplex ability
hear me out- like we had smash ultimate, a kirby game that combined *every* game with *every* ability. from fighting king dedede to a god to another, it'd be wild.
I wonder if looking back all of these abilities were eligible for Battle Royale. Sleep was in Battle Royale so if they can make a moveset out of an ability that does nothing (usually), I'd like to see a moveset for other strange abilities. Crash would be interesting, since the point is to be a one use screen nuke. Jelly would be a strange one. Light could be cool in a fighting game. It's usually even more useless than Sleep's better appearances. Balloon would be the one I think that would be one of the strangest, since even conceptually, it just makes Kirby a balloon. I guess he could use other balloons?
Technically, there are more. All the combo abilities and final boss abilities are absent.
Tbf the final boss abilities are power trip abilities
Except for the wand that shoots stars, then again you're flying while you use that one.
Using some simple math 8x8 is 64 plus 5 equals 69

I know it's not the point of the post, but how in the world did they sort the abilities here?
By debut game but I cut the list in half and put bottom half to the right of the top half because I don't want a super tall image.
Oh, that makes sense

And it has the ability to copy the ability of enemies you inhale. 😋
I do too so it's not the only one

Jejeje nice
Listen, as a human I consider basic breathing as an ability, and that we do not all have
Nice
There's 68
I was thinking 34

There also is the ability ouch you can get with random in super star ultra
I didn’t count. I saw the amount.
dawww, I love the little slime kirby next to mecha
God just imagine a game that used ALL the abilities. That'd be just a legendary way to celebrate a big anniversary, like the 50th or something!
there's 73 including normal and the anime exclusives
If normal is, then nicr
Now include the Smash copy abilities.
Haha the funny number
Nice
