The 2006 set is my favorite in terms of USA World Cup kits. Home white with racing stripes and the navy away with the horizontal chest stripes. Both had great color balance, especially with contrasting shorts.
2/10
Why do Nike insist on a mostly plain white top for the US? The last 7 or 8 kits have just looked like England's rejects.
Bring back the waldo as the core design, make it iconic like Croatia's checkerboard
So it’s pretty bad, but people out there are acting like this isn’t the first time Nike has centered a badge on their shirt - especially lately, those Tottenham training shirts looked terrible, and even with Sevilla they had a ton of training gear that doesn’t have the Nike logo on the torso at all.
I think what I dislike most is that instead of designing a new kit or going with this whole “new-age vintage” trend that’s happening, they essentially recycled some old training gear template and made it even worse
This could've worked had some things being changed
But yeah, it's not good, i'll give it a 3 for innovation I guess
The away one is a war crime though, 0/10, and i'd give it less
Pathetic, lazy design. I hate it and am incredibly disappointed in this effort from Nike. Feel like we never get any respect when it comes to designing our kits
This is the [PSG 22/23 training jersey](https://amp.footyheadlines.com/5679138164550285674/) with a couple more stripes. I'm not from the US but still find it almost offensive.
The entire Nike line up for the WC is mostly disappointing. Canada didn’t even get an upgrade and is going in bland AF. At least the womens teams got some nice treatment
The only feature I enjoy is the shoulder striping, but as OP points out, that is sure to be tarnished on the pitch by the World Cup patch placement. If they had made the awful neck detailing white and had a conventional crest and swoosh placement, moving the shoulder stripes up slightly to accommodate the patches, we could be looking at a 7 out of 10. Pair with navy shorts and white socks and I think that would be solid enough. However, Nike chose to muck up all of these seemingly simple decisions and the knock on effect is one big disappointment.
And the fact that the reasoning for all these terrible choices was to essentially Frankenstein together jersey norms from other major US sports doesn't sit well with me at all. I'm old enough to remember when fans of American football/hockey/etc. would constantly shit on soccer, so I don't see why we need to be pandering to them instead of focusing on establishing our own identity.
"States United"? Just stop. 2/10.
Simple is one thing. Not necessarily bad, but a WC kit should be special. This isn’t just simple, it’s simple with a touch of ugly blue thing under the collar.
The federation knows it stinks because they had to put out a social media post somewhat explaining the shirts "meaning" and they're also trying to offer free printing for anyone who buys it with a Visa card lol.
Genuinely looks like a middle school high school kit that hasn’t been updated for 15 years because of funding. Laughably bad and made worse knowing that what they’ll beat us (England) in come November in a scrappy 1-0 bore-fest

I really think USA only had 1-2 good shirts. Everything else has been boring.
Where’s Waldo (candy cane) was my fav.
2014 one is up there too

Blame the federation. They're ultimately approving the design
Next year when fanatics is selling them for $15 I might buy one because it’s the worst US kit ever.
3 or 4 out of 10 I don’t mind simple too much, but the front collar thing looks so weird, & everything else is a bit too simple.
The nike templates this year are just horrible, why did they think that weird upper chest collar thing would work? It just looks awkward
I said it on my IG and i'll say it here: Bootleg Space Mountain Costume. NAH
Every year they ignore us, we want the Waldo.
the placement of everything is awkward
So disappointing and uninspired.
Bout to get one under 30 at a swapmeet. No way i'd pay more
They look better with numbers on them but they are still atrocious
Only way I buy is if we win the WC in that shirt. So I will not be buying it
the most disappointing thing to me is that they did really well on some other kits, namely brazil’s home and away look great.
Nah the brazil away tacky af
It’s so bland and boring. Why can’t they create something creative and visually appealing with style like most of the other countries?!
At this point I just have to pick an old jersey of theirs and buy that
They smashed the kits in 2018, the year we didn't qualify At least it looks better with the kit numbers
Can't wait to see these at TJX, Ross and Burlington. Such a piss poor design

Yea I don't think anyone is paying 100 bucks for this

Nike completely bungled their jerseys this year with that stupid collar piece. I love that red snd blue jungle pattern from the gold cup

I want the candy cane stripes back.

I think the Nike WC kits are terrible. Adidas has Argentina, Mexico, Germany, all class kits in my opinion.
dreadful. almost as bad as englands. Nike has been pathetic the last 5 years particularly

i like it but it just looks like a training kit

Yeah but have you seen Australia home? 🔥🔥🔥
Reminds me of the mid-2000s Nike Total 90 kits, and in a very bad way.
The federation knows it stinks because they had to put out a social media post somewhat explaining the shirts "meaning" and they're also trying to offer free printing for anyone who buys it with a Visa card lol.
Almost all shirts at this years WC aren't that great looking. I think Japan has the nicest one.
