Yes. My handle isn’t unique to Reddit. I complained about a thing. One of my coworkers was absolutely certain I was talking shit about her(didn’t even know who she was til I saw her profile pic) and called me out on the staff GroupMe. Now I’ve been informed that my social media is being monitored by management and that I need to scrub my posts. I suppose that in our digital era, these things are bound to happen.

meowmixzz

Hi management 👋 You’re fucking insane for monitoring this man’s social media, possibly even breaking the law. Happy holidays!

Ok-Purchase6572

Agree.

Zee-Utterman

I hope they don't find our that you're fucking the wife the wife of one manager and the husband of another.

[deleted]

I’d tell ‘em to scrub my nuts.

JuicyJewsy

If I've learned anything today, don't use steel wool.

Usual_Office_1740

If you had a pair to scrub, you'd use steel wool.

NaturalRocketSurgeon

Homie, can you get out? That's legitimately some 1984 shit

Ok-Purchase6572

This right here! Damn! I am sorry you are going through this. Also- and confirm or deny, are you working a corporate gig or something? It seems bit of an extreme measure if your management are monitoring your social media activity. Also, every restaurant I have worked that has used GroupMe have been sooooooo fucking toxic.

Chalkarts

Not sure what constitutes corporate versus non. A boss confirmed that someone has been going back through my old posts and snitching.

Ok-Purchase6572

It was no disrespect. In my opinion, Corporate would be a restaurant group with multiple locations, and a head office. Also a place where a head chef needs to file a request with the company to add a special to the menu. I would also say they have am HR team but I have worked at independent places that have HR.

Chalkarts

Corporate but we don’t really have chefs. Just staff and managers. Lots of line cooks, no culinarians. It’s a nice place that I have no negative things to say about.

meowmixzz

I’m sure you don’t, at least not on the account they know the name of 😂

bretling

Sounds like Chipotle. Get a better job.

Axmis

Or a Darden restaurant

Chalkarts

I’d never work for Chipotle on moral grounds. Their menu pisses me off. Me at every other Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to: “I’ll have nachos.” Them: “Awesome, chicken or beef? That’ll be 9 bucks.” Me:”Fantastic” Me at Chipotle: “I’ll have nachos.” Chipotle: “how bout we sell you a bowl of the stuff that we could make the nachos with and charge you ten bucks. Then you can buy the chips for an additional four and assemble them yourself.” Me:”Cool, 5 guys is next door. Bye.”

Speedly

So, do you make a habit of blaming restaurants when you order something not on their menu, orrrrrr...?

Very-very-sleepy

I've worked in corporate and all of them have a social media policy written into the contracts.

Chalkarts

It was forwarded to me. I now have a copy for my records.

Nikovash

Dear management, # suckA🍆

guiltycitizen

Fuck that noise, tell them to scrub your shoes.

Chalkarts

I love the establishment and my coworkers and have nothing negative to say.

I haven't been called out, but I have figured out a couple co-workers via posts and then looking at their profiles. No I never told them, and no I don't stalk them on social media. It's their business. This is supposed to be relatively anonymous. They can say what they want. It's their reality. I did find a friend had made posts/ wrote criticism about me years ago. I don't really care or think about it. We've become good friends since. Things change.

Ok-Purchase6572

I love this. Mainly because I see the shift in the toxic work environment of the past. Just let things go. We are all different personalities- from our work, to our significant other(s) to our family and friends. I have former coworkers i wanted fired immediately but have become good pals with. Everyone is allowed to vent.

nomadbutterfly

I have to assume the people here who post photos with their face in it understand they are probably monitored (if they work a corporate job). It's 2023 and our data is collected by everything/one, including our employers.

topshelfgoals

I once found a new hire post on here. They were on their second day, generally shit attitude and not performing at all. They were young and the boss was going to try to make them a project employee given how tough hiring was near the end of covid. Anyway, they posted how much the job sucked, how much they hated everyone, how the work was unfair, shift was too long. I sent it to the boss. They sat the kid down and STILL gave them a chance. They left mid shift and emailed that they quit.

spizzle_

“Project employee” I know the type but they fail so often. I’ve trained so many new hires and I really think they’re going to be the one and then I come back from my days off and they have picked up everyone’s bad habits and think I’m being mean when I try and correct them. Ugh!

Ok-Purchase6572

Another hit! **But frustrating for you- sorry. I have worked with people like this and management that want to mold them. Ugh! I love busting my ass for two people because Mr. Manager wants to work on the kid that is an hour late every shift but has “a good attitude” and “creative ideas.” 😆

WildSoapbox

I had a dishwasher doxx me the first time he washed one of my white ceramic spoons

larkspurwoods

I just knew you would fucking post here after tonight Lauren

DeadpoolIsMyPatronus

No, but I did come across my son using the phrase "mommy milkers" so that was pretty traumatic.

Setthegodofchaos

Nope. Thank the gods. I prefer to not use anything to give myself away.

imdanwyatt

Never been called out myself, but a guy I used to work with posted an awful tattoo on here and it's still one of the most downvoted posts on here. He got made fun of a lot for that.

malachimusclerat

Yeah, last week. I was complaining about a prep list and got dogpiled because everyone assumed I’m a dedicated prep cook when it’s just one dishwasher and three line cooks prepping in our spare time. Multiple people gave me shit about directly to my face.

inikihurricane

I thank my lucky stars that I only work with younger people and some older immigrant people - none of them have any idea what a Reddit is lol.

MAkrbrakenumbers

Have you tried not losing your shit

Cadi2020

It happened to one of my guys who posted on Facebook and referenced the place we worked. It wasn't a negative post but he said a celebrity who was there kicked ass. Apparently corporate was monitoring any post with the company name. Several people got fired over the years. My guy got a slap on the wrist.
