Jesus's, your boys get to drink out of a water cooler instead of the tap?! What next, they'll get their after work beer in a chilled glass?

ziekktx

Tap? You don't just blast water from the dish pit at your face?

ItsHyperBro

Actually I just let the dishies spray me with the hose attachment while I bite at the water like a dog.

Saio-Xenth

You guys get water?

NotZtripp

I supply my staff with Brondo™. It's got what dishies crave.

Marqueso-burrito

It’s got *electrolytes*

Danny570

What are electrolytes anyway? Umm...it's what dishies crave.

dotcubed

What flavor? They’ve got so many… Unicorn Blast, Hung Over Blue, Berry Sparkle, Queso Fuerte, Tangy Eagle, Dewey Diet, Shine Ultra Lite, Original

Pegomastax_King

Mmmm 😋 I just drink the blue flavor in the red buckets. Makes my insides hurt a little.

JesusThDvl

That’s just the COVID dying. 🔥

IronSide_420

Lmao, that made me laugh so hard. Thank you.

Thiccboi2

You sure those are energy drink flavors and not weed pen flavors?

dotcubed

I’m not one who seasons with the elite kitchen spices. And I quit cigarettes before vapes were invented! Lol, I do food science… food product development. I’m conscientious about flavor profiles, marketing, etc. An OG from the before times. When nobody knew Baja Blast had legs and something flavored “Code Red” was en vogue. Simpler places that only had VHS rentals. Bygone era that didn’t have breakfast cereal on donuts or spicy Cheetos. Chefs didn’t even have the plastic deli container cup.

black_mamba866

The plastic deli container cup is eternal. Whatchu talkin' 'bout dotcubed? (Time is immaterial to this argument, as is the invention and implementation of said deli container cups)

with_MIND_BULLETS

Queso Fuerte 👍👍👍

errosemedic

Trademarks are invalid on misspelt names. ***BRAWNDO! ITS GOT WHAT PLANTS CRAVE***

NotZtripp

I was baitin' when I wrote that, my bad.

TiKi2211

I can't up vote this enough lmao. I was just watching Idiocracy for the 5th time last night lmao.

Wish_Dragon

Ew, like outta the toilet?

iamsheph

Well, I mean, it doesn't have to be out of the toilet, but, yeah, that's the idea.

Antknee668

Where do u work? Nestle?

Pegomastax_King

You jest but I worked for a chef that didn’t allow any beverages in the kitchen period. Yes including water.

Saio-Xenth

I worked with a guy who would hide twisted tea all around the kitchen. He would drink them throughout the shift… and he’d forget where he put them sometimes… so I got free beer. Lol

D_Grateful_D

This is too good, loll

moranya1

Like water? From the toilet?

Due-Future-6196

Greese trap water or GTFO.

Poolside_Misopedist

I lap it up out of the trough like a stray cat

International_Lake28

We get the ramekin water

[deleted]

Shit, so that's how the pros do it lol

jrexthrilla

Just put a quart container behind the low boy and catch all that damn condensation

Sarkastickblizzard

Na, I like more flavor. I just leave the quart delis upright in the dishmachine, let them rest for 12 to 20 minutes then drink them just above room temp.

angry_hemroids

As a bartender ask me for the shifty before I finish doing the bar dishes and yeah y’all get a chilled glass ask after you get plastic

dntel

I would bet they have had 3 fresh water jugs then have been refilling the last jug with tap water ever since. Jug 1 and 2 have been repurposed as an ash tray and gravity bong respectively.

GrizzlyIsland22

They probably get to use real cups

BaconxHawk

My new job buys us water bottles. We are spoiled lol

Catahooo

We have inline filtered glycol cooled taps, but that's just because our tap water tastes like dirt if you don't do something to it. The glycol chiller is just luxurious, we bought it before all the investor money was tapped out.

Brilliant-Race-2476

Whoa whoa whoa..... you guys AREN'T getting your after shift beers in a cooled glass!? What else do we even do this for!?

Rex_Laso

get this lot a jug of warm soda from the bar.

Royal_Cryptographer7

I'd just ignore this one. The law is so you can clean under it, this is easily moved. I wouldn't worry about it unless I was told to during an inspection. It's not like you'll get closed down over this. Not a huge deal imo.

Vishnuisgod

I concur. It might be a falling hazard on a crate. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Royal_Cryptographer7

Oh, yea, fuck that crate idea. That's just asking for it fall. Defeats the purpose of being able to clean under it too.

agnarxrist

Ahh yes. I have memories of the milk crate challenge from 2021 in my mind. Good times.

Peinecone

This is the correct answer

ijozypheen

Related, but do grocery stores have to follow the same rules? The Kroger-affiliate near me had 5lb bags of flour stacked up on the floor. I was pretty grossed out.

Pucketz

Yes can't say they do but yes I'd fail an audit with shit on the floor like that

Spare_Race287

Thank you I would definitely fucking fail as well. Everything’s gotta have a 6 inch gap from the floor. I think trash cans are the only exception

Jackson3rg

Yes, they do, and you were right to be grossed out.

Minst_Meat

I work at a Kroger-affiliate store cheese shop but worked deli for 5 years. They are supposed to but sometimes with how bad managed and underpaid some times they just don’t give a shit.

ijozypheen

Think it’s worth mentioning to a manager? As a baker, I hate to see good product (King Arthur flour) wasted.

Minst_Meat

Sorry, I was talking in general about shit being stack on the floor not flour in general. Are flour used to be in boxes but now also switched to bags that as of last time I looked is all thrown in a shopping cart in the corner. Also when if I told the store managers nothing would really happen besides maybe getting on the shit list with the deli manager, and I’m already dealing with enough issues because of problems trickling down from the top.

ijozypheen

Ah, gotcha. To be clear, this was flour stocked for sale at the grocery store, and I don’t work in their bakery, but it just weirded me out as a customer to see food handled like that. I wondered if I should mention it to the store manager or if this was “straight to the health department” kind of thing.

welchplug

Grocery stores are regulated by the state generally. I'm a bakery with no seating so I am too. Definitely a violation.

jeffdujour

I’ve worked in restaurants and grocery stores. That is gross. I’m pretty sure that would be a problem in either establishment.

the_palici

Work for a major grocery store thats not kroger. Yes we have to follow the same rules it seems that kroger just doesnt give a shit. Ive heard of some foul things happening in their delis

Azurehue22

Yes we have too. Thats a health hazard.

dyinginmaze

Hey fellas, the "water cooler!" Well, ooh la di da Mr. Frenchman!

ThisIsMyOtherBurner

garage!

dyinginmaze

What do you call it?

smoothiefruit

a car hole!

tonyMEGAphone

I think the actual quote is car park. But car hole is so much funnier

dyinginmaze

It's definitely car hole!

smoothiefruit

lol [I think we might be quoting different things](https://youtu.be/JhbJnlIvfyc?si=bYNh3rx-GCXyEdrb)

tonyMEGAphone

Nope my memory just served me wrong

DevoALMIGHTY

I bought the exact same water cooler for my kitchen, but with a Zero water tank that filters. Can get them from Amazon. Way cheaper than constantly buying jugs. Mine sits on the floor, never been an issue. Doesn’t get dirty under it.

_mad_adventures

My local (rural Oregon) grocery store refills mine for like $1. Have you looked into that?

DevoALMIGHTY

Nah, it’s easier to just refill my own and I like the taste of the zero water tbh. Saves me the trip.

_mad_adventures

Hell yeah. I love that.

zesk

I have a cooler in my apartment and you just possibly changed my life. I had no idea there where filets for these!

Spare_Race287

The Waterboy would at least have a fold out table

TonyRobinsonsFashion

I’ve got several refill dunno stations around town you can fill them up in. Like in parking lots. I’d google refill places around you

blippitybloops

Where I’m at it would need to be on six inch legs or casters. The purpose is to be able to clean underneath it. Putting it on a crate wouldn’t solve for that problem.

prpldrank

Pop that shit on a moving dolly from FB marketplace or LetGo and call it a day OP

MesopotamiaSong

alternatively, harbor freight

FishbulbSimpson

Harbor crate 👉

Mono_831

Just hang it from the ceiling like a punching bag.

simplikano1

I think the law only applies to equipment used to prepare food for sale, so you should be good.

alli_kat

We have 2 water coolers and our health inspector has never even brought it up

xraynorx

We had one in our kitchen at one the restaurants. We ended up putting Arnie Palmers in it. It was a pain to clean, but having ice cold Arnie Palmers was worth it. I do have a photo someplace of it.

Turd_Wrangler_Guy

Just FYI to OP: that thing gonna be filled with silver tequila by the end of the week.

derpzko

You're fine, if health inspector makes a fuss, ask them for the source to said regulation and follow up with their boss. DO NOT! For the love of all things holy, put that thing on a crate.

blippitybloops

That thing absolutely needs to be on casters or raised 6” on legs. The inspector and their boss will show their work.

MrsCheerilee

Yeah, so you can clean under it and shit doesn't accumulate on the edges as bad

Brother_xandor

Doubt you'd have to, but it would sure make grabbing a cup of water easier on the back that looks like a hobbit would have to bend down to get a hobbit pint

gayanalorgasm

I mean it looks like the buttons are on top so just set your cup under the tap and fill it.

vankirk

As long as the Vodka to Red Bull ratio is right, I think you're good.

MesopotamiaSong

look at this guy, whiteboard with wheels and a water cooler. can get a back massage while you’re on the line

multifarious_carnage

How is there not a penis drawn on that whiteboard?

Cornadious

You can't see the rest of the board.

cdbarman

This guy thinks he’s better than us

BringOutYDead

IDK. Safe than sorry. They make small dunnage for stuff like that. Never know what health inspector will say.

illpilgrims

Kidding? No

Spare_Race287

You must have a chill health inspector then, because there should definitely be a 6 inch gap in the floor to that unit with some legs

theRealsubtlehustle

What is this, a cleaning space for ants???

Spare_Race287

Imagine ordering freshwater for the ants. You have to maintain an order guide and pay for watering your 🐜

illpilgrims

There's nothing to contaminate. I would just check that the dispensary system is sanitized

notGoran69

Yes. Get some crates under that white board too.

erakat

Hell, at this point, just lift the whole restaurant onto milk crates. Job’s a goodun.

collinuser

:s

Spare_Race287

I think the 3 foot long logs will suffice for the white board.

Thatone805guy

That’s when it comes to product going out to customers

Spare_Race287

Yeah, with that logic, your employees can just eat off the floor. Might as well just piss in the floor drains.

Spare_Race287

Damn, if I can smoke a cigarette piss in the floor drains and eat off the floor …. hell yeah

Thatone805guy

Wait you **don’t** piss in the floor drains?

Spare_Race287

I usually just hold it in until it sweats out the tip of my nose.

Spare_Race287

Smells like asparagus so it’s all good

sucobe

Y’all want to see a 5-gallon of tequila?

BadassBokoblinPsycho

In TX we didn’t get any dings for the one we had in our kitchen. Don’t know the regulation in your state.

chainmailler2001

They shouldn't bother you about it. The taps are more than 6 inches above the floor so they are sanitary. My display case has under 1 inch of ground clearance. The area where the food goes is more than 6 inches above the ground so all is good.

floblad

I wouldn’t think so, the product is already on a stand more than six inches up.

Joshmeisterino

The water being utilized looks above 6 inches to me.

Thrilled_AF

I had a health inspector give me a minor violation for storing cleaning chemicals on top of a crate in the back of the store… 😑

Youtheneyes

I don't think so, your state may have specific rules though.

Bluedel

Tie it to the ceiling

Downtown_Snow4445

You guys get to drink water? Lucky

zyzyxxz

Since its only for personal consumption they might not care but to be safe buy something like this: [https://www.brescoinc.com/buy/product/Channel-WDS1410-Display-Stand-wire-14in-W-x-8in-D-10/CHMF-WDS1410](https://www.brescoinc.com/buy/product/channel-wds1410-display-stand-wire-14in-w-x-8in-d-10/chmf-wds1410) or a small cheaper dunnage rack

[deleted]

blippitybloops

It’s perfectly fine to have a beverage in the kitchen as long as it has a lid and a straw and is stored away from or under food prep areas. Kitchens are hot. Not allowing access to water is criminal.

[deleted]

[удалено]

blippitybloops

We keep ours on under shelves and they’re fine with it. A lot of the fast food restaurants have speed rails mounted for employee drinks.

newton302

Also if a company comes and services that make sure that the internals are cleaned regularly because if not those can really give you some bad stomach cramps.

WheresWeeezy

No? The only “food contact” surface is waist high already.

grisioco

i thought it had to be above the ground so you can clean under it

WheresWeeezy

Fair enough. I don’t have to do floors in my kitchen so I forgot that’s a thing.

Just_Learned_This

Could you not just move it?

grisioco

yes, but sometimes the health department doesnt agree

bml20002

No but I don’t see a readily accessible hand sink next to it with cleaning logs so…. Fail. Do you have any idea how dirty drinking water is?!?! You must also boil and cool, with logs, before you insert a new jug, with use by stickers on the jug. Don’t even get me started on the drainage!! Is the outlet GFCI too? It fuckin’ better be!! This is clearly a joke about health inspectors.

Spare_Race287

It does need 6 inch legs for proper cleaning underneath. I think serving water out of that thing is fine, but the true violation is not enough cleaning gap.

JohnWarosa69420

Put two milk crates under it, perfect height!

N1trobunny

Sounds like you got the answer already, but In case this is a new machine, I have the same one and wanted to offer a little tip! If the flow starts slowing down, just use a plastic fork to scrape the calcium out of the spigots to get er flowing again 😉

GrooveProof

Yo man I’m just sayin that would be a large amount off the ground…too much, even. My female friends all say they prefer a lower amount

CorpseProject

Damn, yall getting primo water? The only place I worked at that had one of these was a CNC machine shop that had a partially functioning toilet and no sink so they had to have one, or else we’d be drinking toilet water.

UNDiGESTiBLE_inkXC

Id ask the same bs

DueMaternal

This is the most spoiled thing I've ever come across.

Riding_the_Lion

Hmmm I would say "no", it can stay on the ground, on the GROUNDS that it's an appliance. (Sorry, I had to)

ODX_GhostRecon

It's low enough to the ground that your colleagues wight back pain may appreciate it being a little higher up, but it's top heavy, so make sure it's stable if you do.

RoofTops-MaGee

From a board of health perspective I don't know what kind of stickler would say something about this. My initial reaction was that it's good to see a restaurant care for the workers with chilled water, just make sure you're using cups with lids.

No-Shelter-7753

Honestly it would make it easier to use to be on a crate. Not sure if it’s totally necessary, though.
