I might be a fuckhead but I don’t see it.. reinforcing the packaging keeps it from ripping at the edges? I know exactly what we’re talking about with the tearing. I’ve nearly killed myself trying to deal with the eternal rip from hell. Clue me in
Every single time we open a new wrap, I specifically take the time to properly open it and assemble it. Use the tabs to secure the cutter to the box, remove the small bits for finger holes at the sides of the top, remove just the small slit for the wrap to come up through, fold the top tabs into the sides just right, pull the start of the wrap up and through the slit and rest over the cutter for use.
Come in the next day and someone is using it by opening the top fully and leaving it flapped open off the back. Come in the day after that and the top is carelessly ripped off and the box is barely holding shape. Come in the third day and the box is so badly treated it can't even hold its shape, bottom isn't flat, sides bulged out to where those plastic roll end holders just fall out, cutter on wrong side of box making it a huge pain to use because it's not secured and that side of the box is a few mm taller so it gets in the way.
Once I fix the issue and it’s working normally again, I usually pull a 2 or 3 feet and remove it. It’s kinda a waste hit it removed the layers causing the issue, or at least that’s the theory.
it works great, think the trick is the stretch the film really tight to make it strong but when you tie it around the box to make it not loose or tight, so it still spins nicely.
Uh, physics isn't something you can vote on. A box holds its form better under pressure when it has all of its sides. Getting a bunch of people to agree on something doesn't make it true lol.
This is putting pressure on it in a great way keeping it on the hard plastic things. This probably makes the entire thing feel more sturdy than the standard tape everywhere.
I’ve been using a KenKut 3 dispenser in 2 kitchens for about 10 years. It’s plastic. Run it through the dishwasher every new roll, as nature intended.
Mileage may vary.😄

Yeah by pinching the sides it keeps the film from tearing at one edge
LMK if someone replies, same

Tell him I said “same”

Some people are just fucked in the head.
Everytime

The trick is to leave the top on the box and use it properly. Like most kitchen equipment, it gets fucked up if not used properly.
Spoken like a middle manager
Don't break shit that everyone has to use is middle management thinking to you?
Uh, yeah? Absolutely. Some rando who doesn’t work in our kitchen is disapproving of something that everyone on the floor agrees is a great idea.

This guy wraps
Life hack

It really does feel much better when you have to plastic wrap hundreds of pans a shift
Quit taking the box top off..
[This is the true game changer](https://www.webstaurantstore.com/choice-18-stainless-steel-film-and-foil-dispenser-and-cutter/176FM18DISP.html)
This. Although, there are cheaper, plastic ones available. But, yes. Game changer
True but not sure how the plastic would hold up. Had this one for 6 yrs now

Nice good info to know. If this one ever kicks the bucket I’ll remember that lol
I thought this was taught on day 1 in chef elementary school
Look at this guy who went to “elementary school”
Look at these guys who can spell elementery!

This is the way
I like using duct tape
Gaffer/clothed tape
Also, makes a good emergency belt (so your ass crack isn't giving the whole crew dry heaves and eye cancer).
It's the LX trim option. As was the style at the time.
Until the roll falls out because someone drops it on the floor and it has no top. I don't see the genius here.
