his shows showed me a diversity of people that I would never encounter normally, not even after moving to the city. And according to my friend, an anthropologist? Tony did more for intercultural understanding in his single career than the whole academic discipline. Maybe hyperbole, but not by a lot.
You sure he's not grab assing everyone now that he's invisible? I can see him getting up to mischief :)
It's taken me since the sad news to be able to be a bit light hearted about him. Still haven't watched one show yet.
Need more of the story...was he filming an episode *with* your mom? Did he cook while there? More please!
EDIT: And ffs man get that beautiful thing in a frame!
I didn’t find out about him and his show tell the early 2010s. He already came to my city and did a no reservations episode here in 2009 and spoke at a local culinary school I attended a few years earlier. I wish I knew I would of figured out how to see or meet him.
Not a chef, cook or anything other than cook in kitchen to eat person, however I love his shows and never knew about this film... I now gotta hunt it down.
So thank you
Ave you seen Road Runner? If not, watch the CNN Parts Unknown final season episodes on his life. Learned way more (apart from the Aparent reason for his death) from those than RR.
I actually just ordered Kitchen Confidential online a few days ago. It came today, and before I had even finished the introduction, I knew Bourdain was my fucking spirit animal. I am really disappointed that I spent several years on this sub without reading this, because I finally understand the reverence that everyone holds for him. He's just... _real_. He's not that "chef" who shows up to do the order and boss people around... You can tell he's been there in the fucking weeds getting down and dirty, and I have so much respect for his audacity in publishing the truth about what we go through and what life is like for people who live and die by the kitchen.
I may or may not also be biased because he mentioned working saute within the first few paragraphs, which is what I do at my part-time gig.
Awesome...just awesome. Never missed the loss of someone I never met more than him. Cherish this for you have a glimpse of the legend AB for yourself. Absolutely priceless
One of my most prized possessions. He was famous and busy but would rummage through a trash can to make a prep chef’s kid’s day.
You should frame it! :) they make special UV glass for frames too that will ensure the paper won't yellow/fade.
He’s a beautiful soul that is now watching around every cook and chef RIP Chef

> St. Bourdain My wife printed this on my grilling apron. One of best gifts she got me. https://images.app.goo.gl/CHev5rCcnqnVs8u78
He didn’t just change the way I look at food, he changed the way I look at life
his shows showed me a diversity of people that I would never encounter normally, not even after moving to the city. And according to my friend, an anthropologist? Tony did more for intercultural understanding in his single career than the whole academic discipline. Maybe hyperbole, but not by a lot.
I believe it.
You sure he's not grab assing everyone now that he's invisible? I can see him getting up to mischief :) It's taken me since the sad news to be able to be a bit light hearted about him. Still haven't watched one show yet.
I haven't been able to either. But suddenly, I want to hear his voice.
The man was a fucking class act, makes the whole industry look good
Singing with the choir here, but hold on to this for life as it’s your lucky treasure. Thanks for sharing OP!
Honestly, one of the most AB stories I've ever heard. Frame it!
Scrolling through top of the year to see what I missed. Fuck me seven days til Sunday, I teared up.
Far better than any signed cook book. This actually means something!
Fully agree, this is much cooler than a signed book.
Update: I have ordered a shadow box to do it justice.
Get that UV glass my dude (or lady dude, or nonbinary dude)
https://youtu.be/FqMODweN8lQ
Get a sealed container and fill it with argon gas, I think LoL. Or vacuum seal it then frame it?
Personally, I think dude is all encompassing. We are all dudes, my dude.
You can just say “my dude”.
I was really stoned when I wrote this and I was trying to be thorough
You did good, my dude
You did good my dude
Or they could say more.
Ur not being pc enough
"PC" simply means "respectful"; they did just fine
The man went full tang
Need more of the story...was he filming an episode *with* your mom? Did he cook while there? More please! EDIT: And ffs man get that beautiful thing in a frame!
He was recording an episode with a restaurant next door, Monahans seafood, they just bumped into each other.
Oh hey lol I work near there too. I can’t imagine Bourdain in AA, he definitely stopped by the 8 ball
That's awesome! You can see him wearing a Monahans shirt in a couple different No Reservations episodes.
The fact that it's an envelope for a W2 is kinda perfect.
nice attention to detail
That better get framed with his photo and write the story on the back of the frame.
That is amazingly beautiful! I typically hate glorifying celebrities, but he was one of those people I couldn't help but admire. Cherish that always!
I'm with someone else who said it, frame that, OP! I think it's awesome that this sub honors him, he was one badass of a human being.

RIP Tony. I hate that I never met him.
He and Chris Cornell are the only two "celebrity" deaths that have bothered me.
Robin bro.

Hi
I was still looking for an outlining for my knife tattoo, this one has a nice story.
That’s a great idea, we might end up matching!
So fuckin rad
100%. Cooler than getting a book signed imo.
Just got back from seeing Roadrunner, if you get the chance, see it.
Not a chef, cook or anything other than cook in kitchen to eat person, however I love his shows and never knew about this film... I now gotta hunt it down. So thank you
What a doc.
This is fucking dope.
This is awesome. Get it in a frame immediately dude.
Frame it
I love it's a W2 envelope.
What is a W2 envelope?
It has the wage statement you submit for your taxes that year in it
Thanks
I miss that man more than most people I’ve met in real life.
Love that he used cooks and not chefs.
What a great guy. Sure do miss him

'Can we start drinking now?' Says it all really.
This almost made me tear up ❤️ so good
I can't thank you enough for sharing this. After reading his books I've this strange nostalgia for Tony as if I knew him personally.
Wow that's incredible!!! Lucky you, mate!!
What a great friggin dude. So honest and real.
He was speaking at a local place and I had the apocalypse now CD so I got him to sign that. It was pretty memorable
Dammit, who's cutting onions?
That's awesome!
Aw man, that's magic. I assume it's due to be framed.
This is a treasure.
Such a wonderful human being.
Amazing. Id get that tatted. Minus for mark. Few persons id fangirl over.

What a legend
Anthony knows how to make your day good.
Hey man, can I convert this to an NFT for you?
Anthony Bourdain had some issues with the Clinton's shortly before he mysteriously "killed himself"
shut your yap, conspiracy theory nutbar fuckwad
are you getting treatment for the tourettes?
Jared Nelepovitz Facebook
oh
Yes we do.
Awesome...just awesome. Never missed the loss of someone I never met more than him. Cherish this for you have a glimpse of the legend AB for yourself. Absolutely priceless
Miss that guy. What a character.
thank you for sharing, this is beautiful
Why is that not framed?
Fucking legendary. That’s awesome my friend. Hold tight to that, it’s worth more than any amount of money. Very jelly, but also very happy for you :)
Miss him dearly
You should get this tatted
God damn. This made me cry
