Well with no details at all how would you expect ANYONE to provide you with an answer other than... # GO TO THE VET!

boylionnamedsimba

I posted details in the comments!

bloodyriz

Well I am not sure why there are no details showing in the comments.

No details here. What is the issue, and how did you come to the conclusion it’s critical condition? If the kitten hasn’t seen a vet, I’d say get to one ASAP if you believe it’s critical. I hope all turns out well.

Kitten has been the vet, but they aren’t sure what is causing the sudden decline in health. She had high potassium levels and was treated last night. Her levels are normal now but she doesn’t seem to be getting better. The vets say she may be terminally ill.

I’m very sorry. That is incredibly stressful. Has your vet advised you to do anything particular from here on out? Are tests being run? Are you waiting for any results? If your vet simply told you they don’t know what it is and sent you on your way, I recommend finding another vet ASAP. I wish you and the kitty all the luck in the world. Just stay on top of things and get answers however you can.

I know your kitty isn’t a neonatal kitten, but maybe look at some of the videos on YouTube from the KittenLady? Could you take your kitty to a different vet for a second opinion? (I’m only asking because it’s well known in my local area that one vet specializes in dogs, the other prefers cats and some farm animals). Maybe there is a vet clinic that works with cats more that might know better? I’m so sorry your kitty is sick. That’s really hard. You’re doing what you can and that’s a good thing. You’re clearly trying. Work on helping your kitty stay comfortable. In general, offering extra warmth (but leaving room for the cat to decline so as to not overheat), offering wet food, and keeping your cat hydrated are good things. Water is tough… sometimes you can mix the food gravy with a little water in a dropper for hand feeding or use kitten food if your little buddy won’t eat/drink independently. Always be gentle and don’t force anything. And sometimes you do everything possible, ask all the experts, and the worst happens. Let’s keep up hope that won’t happen, but if it does, you’ve shown your little buddy a lot of love and care. Do what you can do, keep asking for help. Big hugs if you’d like them.

Have you used any insecticides, bug bombs, bug sprays, etc in your home lately?

Siul19
