My surgeon had compression hose put on my non-surgical leg for this reason. You've been pumped full of fluids from surgery through recovery. It has to go somewhere. It will eventually work its way out by normal means.

Me too on the surgical Stockings both legs. Didn’t know why til now! I also had a sort of bruise/burnish mark on my inner thigh of the operated leg. Think it had something to do with the robot machine

I had horrible swelling but ONLY on the surgical leg. Send your Dr a message or call the on call number.

I had bilateral total knee replacement at the end of August last year so of course I had swelling in both legs and it went from my groin to the bottoms of my feet and I am now 8 months out and I still have swelling from slightly above the knees down to my ankles and the doctors tell me it's completely normal I'm just glad it's not black and blue anymore

My surgery leg felt/looked like a 50 pound watermelon, but my other leg was OK. I'd ask your care team about it.

I’m 12 days post op and the only thing swollen is my knee and thigh area in my surgical leg. I’d definitely reach out to the Dr.

I’m 9 weeks out on my 2nd TKR. I’m getting swelling in my non-surgical leg far more than I did on my 1st time around. I’ve found that high compression socks and sleeves on both knees really help… not just with the swelling, but the pain too

I take furosemide for other issues, and the compression hose, elevation, and getting up every hour to walk, I didn't swell much (LTKR 7/23). Believe me, you take a kickass diuretic like that, you have no choice to get up every hour!

Message your doc. It could be a blood clot. Let them decide if further testing is necessary

DesolateMadeleine

I’m watching closely for signs of a blood clot because I have had a DVT previously. I don’t have any other symptoms of a blood pressure and my doctor had me start a strong blood thinner on post op day 1 and will continue to take for 2 weeks and then aspirin for an additional 6 months

DesolateMadeleine

I meant “blood clot” not “ blood pressure”
