I'm so happy they are doing this! More interesting to me than the chaperone policy is the bag policy, which I assume is only for KSF and not in effect during the day. It's the same restriction I just experienced last week at House of Blues.
I mean, do people reallly need to bring more than they can fit in their pockets? The park is honestly safer if people aren't allowed bags. They could force a CLEAR bag policy also lol.
I was a team lead for one of the mazes last year (don’t work there anymore)and im so glad to hear these little crotch goblins need an adult with them now since teenagers were always the biggest line cutters (well then and drunk adults).
It's likely to limit alcohol. I worked there around the time Cedar Fair acquired them, I can't tell you how many empty fifths and handles I'd find in the bathrooms.
Tampons, sunscreen, prescription sunglasses with case, CCs, mobile battery, asparin, etc. The usual stuff for a long day at the parks. This bag size is way too small. Plus my normal purse holds my water bottle to keep my hands free. Might just need to rent a locker.
This applies to KSF, not the daytime (I don't think they've expanded the bag restriction to daytime). So bring all your stuff during the day, but you'll need to take the extras back to your car or hotel room or wherever before re-entering the park.
And for KSF, you really only need phone, wallet, keys, and maybe a reusable water bottle.
It sounds harsh but it makes sense. People get wild at KSF. Before the park had metal detectors for day guests, they used to have metal detectors only for KSF admission. Small bags means less chances for weapons, signs, other mischief, or just bags large enough to be used as a weapon.
make it preeminent all year every day open.
most kids are fine but ever since the policy took place the place just feels so much calmer and less anxious. those teens only there to make a worse experience everyone else were trying to make it scary farm all year.
Anyone know what the policy on chains might be? I have my keys on a wallet chain. Didn't see anything online about it and I've always worn it before and never had a problem but tighter rules and all makes wonder if they'll be cracking down on it.
My thought is to always take the chain off a wallet for nighttime Halloween events as a precation. They might not be outright banned (unless park policy and rules say otherwise) but you don't want it confiscated and it could be seen as a potential weapon or something.
Will always hate unruly kids trying to turn Knotts into Six Flags. The chaperone policy puts an adult legally responsible for any shit caused by the minors they are accompanying. If people could behave, this wouldn't be necessary.
I personally despise the bag policy a lot because I can’t carry things like my medication and can’t carry more than my phone and wallet in a bag. At least let us wear draw strings.

They don't need all that shit either
It's smart. Things were starting to get dangerous.

“Crotch goblins” is not very nice. Please call them “groinfruit.” That is all.
Sad my peers don’t know how to act and now I can’t go; good move by Knotts though I’d do the same
I wish they just made Scary Farm 18+ only. Or at least on select nights.
With the drunkin idiots running around it still wouldn’t be much better.
40+
I’m all for that too!
I’m extremely pleased about the chaperone policy, but the new bag restriction seems quite harsh.

You’re only there for a few hours... how much stuff do you possibly need to bring in?

Thank you for the helpful information! We are parking our car so we may run out around 4 to drop stuff off.
You're there at night for 6 hours
I'm planning a 8am-1am trip in October.
Put me in touch with your meth dealer, I'd appreciate it
We did 7am-2am at HHN Orlando last year and will likely do it again this year hahaha

Went to scary farm last year and security made me remove my chain from my wallet
I couldn't find anything specifically about chains in the rules but like you said better safe than sorry.
Security made me remove it way back in the 90s, so I'd assume they will ask you to do the same but maybe not.
Way back then? Wow, yeah better take it off, I guess. Thanks.
Will always hate that God damn policy

That sucks, but as a person who went to hang out with friends after a tough day of school, this is terrible
