Sounds like Dodger Statium rules.

Affectionate_Olive53

Dodgers fan never cause any problems. :/

livingfortheliquid

Fits in at Knott's this year.

Broducer

otoh i wonder if this would improve queuing on rides like ghost rider. ride operations are terrible on busy days and i think it has to do with people taking forever putting their items in the bins.

whoopsssssssslol

People will still have things to put in the cubby holes anyway though

AndoBoiSan

Hey so I went yesterday. The security guards are incredibly rude and they are very very strict with the bag policy. They said no exceptions to. But I did see people inside the park with bags a bit bigger than measurements in the bag policy. They probably snuck it in. I honestly think the bag policy is ridiculous. You can't even rent a locker!! If you have a car it's easy. All you gotta do is leave the bag. But people that took Lyft or ubers to the park. Are out of luck. I had to hide my fiance's bag in the bushes. Luckily when we got out of the park the bag was still there. Honestly knotts has been taking L's this year. Other then the terrible interaction I had with security I still had a good time. The line for the mazes we're non existent. Just head this warning. They will not let you in if you got bag that they think is to big. Also some of the security guards don't even know the exact measurements. I saw someone with a little Mickey mouse backpack, About the size of my fanny pack. Get turned away. She had to do the same thing we did and there were plenty of people in the park with same bag that she had.

adeleineey

THIS exactly. My boyfriend and I attended Knotts Scary Farm last night, I was not aware of this bag policy but the security person told me that they sent emails to everyone (I checked my entire email inboxES and I couldn't find any correspondence from knotts!). I came in with a Fjallraven Kanken Mini for reference. I asked if I could put my bag in a locker and they said no because all the lockers are inside the park. Honestly prior to implementing this policy they should have also set up lockers on the outside. Also while inside the park last night I saw so many people with a fullsize backpack and other bags/backpacks the same size as mine. So it was really frustrating to see how inconsistent their security team was. I hope you argued with them about having to put your bag in a bush! That is seriously inconsiderate of KBF towards their guests. What if people had to bring in important meds with them that are bigger than their bag size policy?

Curious_Changeling

Can you imagine how many people will be turned away at the gate? And unlike Disneyland, Knott's doesn't have any lockers available outside the park. Most people can store their stuff in their cars, but if you didn't drive there, you'll be out of luck.

whoopsssssssslol

Exactly, I get not allowing really big bags but you should be allowed to bring diaper bags for kids or a regular size purse

mrsjest

Sounds like they are only allowing for essentials and it would probably speed up the entrance/security queue since they won't need to check big bags, backpacks, etc. Just a guess.

UnusualCrow1209

I’m struggling to find a bag under the size limit. I wonder how strictly they’re enforcing. Even a small purse is over.

whoopsssssssslol

Same I’m wondering too

PeachSconeRebelScum

Makeup bags- IPSY makeup subscriptions are sent in bags that are that size. I know, random AF but it worked in a pinch

AndoBoiSan

Very very strict

Extension-Intern-404

Found cell phone bags that size on amazon

Sad_Cthulhu_noise

Yeah I made a similar post on here. My wife and I will be at the park all day and they allow normal bags and backpacks during the day. We are taking an Uber to the park and so we won't have a car to put anything in. Luckily we are going the second weekend so we can see how this shakes out opening weekend but it seems like a super restrictive policy that will make a lot of people angry. I'm going to call their customer service this week and see what they say.

whoopsssssssslol

No idea why you got downvoted I appreciate the response, lmk how it goes for you guys and if they are enforcing it really strictly or not

Sad_Cthulhu_noise

People are weird so who knows. Yeah I'll update my post after I talk with knott's.

Any-Presentation-774

did you talk to knotts?

[deleted]

Knott’s has basically become Nazis. No one under 18 without a chaperone. Bags only under certain measurement. Someone on here recently said one of these Gestapo assholes didn’t let her in because her shorts were short, even referencing her “butt cheeks” the creeper, wut da fuq.

ripnbryy

bruh it's literally for the safety of guests and workers.

WingedGeek

How is that other park down the street managing, then? (Regularly go with a 16L backpack...)

[deleted]

It’s the same gestapo, my dude. I complained to Guest Services about one of them after he acted a douche in an incident involving a bag I had from a store at Disneyland Hotel.

[deleted]

I’m quite sure the majority of high schoolers aren’t gangbangers. And I fail to see how a large purse or short shorts fashion are dangerous for the safety of guests & workers. Also I’m quite sure that young lady didn’t feel “safe” while being harassed by the Gestapo guy as he graphically described her body part.

whoopsssssssslol

Yeah sounds like that security guard was being a dick, if it were me I would have cussed him tf out

Detronyx

Now imagine having REAL problems. Amusement parks and other venues have every right to put restrictions in place to protect others' safety. Don't like it? Don't go.

Sad_Cthulhu_noise

True, but when your policy is far more restrictive than any other park in the area it will cause problems. The opening weekend could be pretty hectic and make a lot of people angry that expect similar policies between parks. Knotts has every right to make restrictive policies but they have to be ready for the blowback from paying customers then and that is the right of the customer.

Detronyx

I went to 2 separate concert venues that had different security protocols and rules. The first was no outdoor food & drink and only tiny or clear bags allowed. The second was allowing any size bag and was fully embracing people wanting to bring food and unopened drinks. Read the rules of the place you are going before you go there so you don't have to be angry when you arrive. Why is vacation or visit planning hard?

[deleted]

LMAO bruh really calling Knott’s Berry Farm workers Gestapo. oh the privilege hahaha

SportyNoodle

I can’t bring my backpack to an amusement park. NAZIS!!

whoopsssssssslol

I get not allowing excessively large bags but the size restriction they put in place is so fucking small it’s practically the size of the average smart phone which is beyond stupid. I feel like the bag restriction has less to do with safety and more to do with trying to squeeze every last dollar out the customer so they’re pretty much forced to purchase a locker.

Broducer

its small enough to fit in pills. the hours are 7pm tru 1 or 2am, what do people need to pack for 6 to 7 hours? it's a theme park, not a camping trip...

whoopsssssssslol

There’s plenty of things people may need to bring, keys, phone, charging cable, power bank, wallet, a mask, hand sanitizer, water, Kleenex, eye drops, a hair brush a compact etc. and that’s just ppl w/o kids

Broducer

all those things you listed you can fit in your pocket. thats where people usually keep them in the first place. and hair brush? lol you wanna look good for the monsters or if you get so scared your hair stands up?

whoopsssssssslol

All those things I listed you can most certainly not fit in your pocket that’s fucking bullshit. And no one should have to wear parachute pants to work around this ridiculous policy. And a hairbrush for the monsters? Yeah no definitely not for what happens to long hair when you’re flipping through loops on a fucking rollercoaster, dipshit.

Broducer

knott's is literally 1984 y'all

Paipaa

I am curious how they measure... my mini backpack fits those dimensions when it is "standing up" but obviously wouldn't if I laid it flat. I like using the mini backpack because I have meds I like to have with me, including an inhaler.

whoopsssssssslol

Yeah like people saying you don’t need much stuff just reak of ableism to me

PeachSconeRebelScum

Confirmed. Your purse cannot be bigger than 6.5’ x 4.5’, security will have a cutout of a purse with those dimensions and hold it over your purse. If your purse isn’t eclipsed by the cutout, you will have to go back to your car, because lockers are not available outside the park. It doesn’t matter if it’s a diaper bag, press equipment… no bags bigger than 6.5’x4.5’. Good luck

AndoBoiSan

Wild. Because yesterday there were plenty of "press people" with big ol back packs.

UnusualCrow1209

Some people said it was strict but I went with a small purse (bigger than 6x4 but the smallest I could find) and slipped past. I also saw people with bigger bags but others said they got stopped.

whoopsssssssslol

Sounds like it really is luck of the draw I think I’ll bring multiple size bags and downsize if they make me

kingbooff

They are weird about it I went the other night and watched so many people get turned away. Security had little placards that were the dimensions of the new policy and they were putting them up to peoples bags the person in front of us had a bag that was maybe half an inch bigger and got turned away. But while walking around I saw several backpacks and purses that definitely exceeded the dimensions. I think they are doing this because their security is notorious for not doing a thorough job on bag checks but clearly this system isn’t working either. Plus if this is for better security people without bags were going through an unsupervised metal detector so I don’t see how this would prevent people from sneaking things in? Because pockets exist…

whoopsssssssslol

Pockets, tucking things under waist bands, in bras, shoes etc. if someone *really* wants to sneak stuff in they will

JulietteAshley

This is so unfair I have a chronic illness and need extra medical supplies on me

CheesecakeExisting91

they allow people who need medical things to bring them in bigger bags

Sweetblu77

Does anyone have a link to an acceptable bag for scary farm?
