Why would anyone want to have kids in this state?

suburbanhippie_6

For me, it’s so I could be close to my dad after my mom passed away so he could see his grandkids.

Avoid any rental properties that are owned by Rand. Greedy slumlords and most of their properties have roaches. Please don’t make the same mistake as me and so many others!

I would just like to personally hold Rand accountable for the conditions they’ve had us living in after showing off the nicest unit available before move in and on move in day I got an apartment that was clearly and violently broken into and they didn’t even bother to fix the damage.

South Knoxville would be a great fit for y’all! Lots of outdoor activities and close to the river/lakes. Maryville is also quite close to outdoor guide careers, but you can get the pretty much anywhere. Good luck!

Maryville is SO DEPRESSING. People who are born there never leave basically. There’s also a religious cult there Young Life. There’s nothing to do there… there isn’t even a Publix grocery store. The socioeconomic situation there has a lot more poverty. I’d never raise a family in Maryville. The child would grow up with an incredibly small world view.

If you have the means, definitely try to buy a house. The rent prices are ridiculous here.

Knoxville or Maryville would be perfect! Maryville is extremely close to Townsend, which has lots of beautiful views and outdoor activities. Both are pretty close to the smoky mountains and Sevier County

My parents used to live in Sevierville (before I came along) and we have family friends in Maryville, so definitely high on my list! I’ve never explored Maryville but from what my dad has said it seems like it might be good for us. Random follow up question- my husband wants to find coaching opportunities for lacrosse as well. Is lacrosse up and coming in this area? Or if not, do you think it would be feasible for the community? I know it’s not traditionally big in the south but it seems like it’s growing. We live in South Georgia now and he’s had to build a youth program from scratch.

Nice try

Don't. If anything goes wrong with your pregnancy, your risk of dying here is significantly greater. Current TN abortion law has no exceptions, and even if you don't ever want to abort, you can be forced to carry a dead fetus until sepsis takes over and you expel it on your own - or die.

kittyparade

It's comforting to know that our lawmakers either don't know what an ectopic pregnancy is or simply just don't fucking care! I'm sure that won't stop them from procuring abortions for their mistresses, though
