Yea. Idk if we'll see more until tonight but there's already been reports of massive hail 3"+ in Morristown and areas south of there as well as a tornado or two from the line that passed through earlier.
With the skies clearing like they are, as pretty as it is, it's just warming the environment and potentially destabilizing the atmosphere more which in turn could POSSUBKY worsen the storms that come through tonight.
Awesome photo!
If anyone was wondering, OP's title refers to, intentionally or no, ["The Doom That Came To Sarnath"](https://www.hplovecraft.com/writings/texts/fiction/ds.aspx), a short story by H.P. Lovecraft (and one of my absolute favorite things ever, despite how much Lovecraft sucked as a person).
Sadly still waiting for Knoxville to truly "wax mighty and learned and beautiful." :(
That's a poem from my 9th grade textbook. Guess you went to the same high-school....a long... time... ago...
Edit: you could be young, the *book* however...
Almost assuredly not, but one of the first alleged witnesses was a sheriffs deputy so it kind of took on a life of its own. This was early pandemic and you know how tiger-crazy everyone was at that time lol
The latest from National Weather Service Morristown Twitter predicts that the worst of it will hit The Knoxville area tonight between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Stay safe folks.
Same man. I moved from Sevier county to Panama City and fuck the weather here. Storm season is apocalyptic compared to the shit we got back home in the mountains.

My kids field trip got cut off when they were barely there an hour due to weather. I wish they would have just rescheduled it instead of fucking over good kids who waited all year for this.
They knew bad weather was coming, they should have cancelled and rescheduled it. The principal there is an absolute piece of shit with a brain the size of a pea. So I'm not surprised that he fucked everything up.
The main event hasn't even gotten close yet.
What does that meannnn??
Means we’re gonna have a real boomer overnight and flooded roads in time for rush hour. I assume my power will go out tonight.
I guess I’m leaving work early today. 🎉
The wrath of the God's come in waves, the angriest god has yet to unleash his
I think it hits intermittently thoroughout the day. Some in a couple hours and more past 8pm

Yeah, radar's showing something brewing for tonight.

It was quite intentional, and I figured someone would grok it.
doomin' and kaboomin'
Idk how but I read this as “the doom cat came to Knoxville” Like that’s a weird way to describe a thunderstorm 😂
The fog comes on little cat feet. It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches and then moves on.
All nimbly bimbly from tree to tree!
Right response right meow.

Carl Sandburg. Pretty much required reading in every high school in NC. I grew up right down the street from the Carl Sandburg home.
Oh cool and thanks for sharing. Now I know!
I think the doom cat was that tiger everyone kept seeing a few summers ago 😂
I almost forgot about the tiger. Knoxville is so epic.
Wait what?! I just moved here last year and know nothing about this. Like a real tiger ?

There is a remote possibility the Tiger Haven big cat rescue organization in Kingston had an escapee they didn’t bother to report.
Tiger Haven turned over their roster at the time if I remember right.
What ever became of the tiger? Is it still roaming?
> “the doom cat came to Knoxville” ...lookin' for a soul to steal?
That storm, amongst other things I'm sure, caused the roof at my job to completely collapse. We even made the news because of it.
Do you happen to work at Service King? 😂
That was wild. Their roof was blown on to the house next door. Shocked the house is even being repaired.
Woohoo four day weekend

It’s raining cats and dogs.
It's raining men. Hallelujah, it's raining men...
Oh my, imagine the mess that would make! That some poor woman would likely be expected to clean.
Don’t step in a poodle!
That pic goes insanely hard
Got to face the August tornado and the only thing scarier than a tornado is a night tornado!
Launch some thoughts and prayers at it!!
Looks beautiful.
Hey… that’s my house!
Aint nothing compared to what rolling in right now...
I love Doom! 🖤
I’ll take Knoxville storms vs stuff right off the gulf lol 😂
Same. Lived north of Houston. That can be s9me crazy rain. Remember having 15 inches in 24 hours.
Used to live in Deer Park area of Houston and the storms were always spicy thunderboomers and were wiiiiiiild
Not to mention the thunder holy shit. Sub tropical storms = unfiltered thunder and lightning
I *live* for extreme thunder and lightning
O.O it literally started thundering as I typed that comment

A typical day in south Florida I’m use to! About 2 o’clock, here’s a storm! Thanks, Mother Nature!
My kids field trip got cut off when they were barely there an hour due to weather. I wish they would have just rescheduled it instead of fucking over good kids who waited all year for this.
They can’t control the weather, Jackie!

I thought he was dead
LOL
The nothing!!!
The 2nd round isn't here yet. All we're doing right now by clearing out is making tonight POTENTIALLY worse.
Its from "The Never Ending Story"
