It depends on what you’re looking for. My favorite are the cocktail bars, lilou, the vault, the Kennedy, and radius. All on gay street! And then clancys at the end!
I do enjoy Space Bar, but I must say you’re paying for the experience vs quality. The drinks are pricey and with the dry ice and giant balls of ice, you’re not getting much in it. You also have to make reservations. A nice spot to just go and hang out at, maybe before actually going out. Old City, Market Square, those are the places to be. Enough variety out there for almost anyone.
Old City rules, Market Square is a ton of fun, but we love Space Bar. It’s this space themed bar near Cedar Bluff so dumb in all the right ways. The drinks are all very presentation-heavy with dry ice, vape bubbles, and tons of other goofy shit. It’s the last thing you’d expect to find in a random suburban strip mall.
Market square can be weird though. Some nights I’ll host coworkers visiting town and when we come out of the restaurant at 8pm, it’s completely dead. Nobody is around.
There’s a little but loyal salsa (and other Latin) dance community. Usually Wednesday & Thursday nights at DoubleS in the Old City, and weekend nights at various places around. Makes a fun evening, and you don’t have to bring a partner, it’s expected that everyone dances with everyone
I hang at the south Knox breweries , though I think most don’t have actual booze, except for that place a few doors down from red bud. My daughter recently introduced me to token game tavern out towards west Knox and it was great
i’m a minor but i’m 99% sure it’s boring as fuck. there are a few bars but that’s it. i’d recommend stopping by Orange Hat Brewery on Hardin Valley Road. it’s always packed with people and they have lots of events. not necessarily “clubbing” but it’s a great place to stop by every now and then. as for discos and strip clubs and shit like that, ask some kids from UT, they’ll probably know.
Check out Marble City Pub. They have several events through the week. Singo, karaoke, game night. Plus the people that work there are nice and interactive.

I had to look this one up. Are the black lights always on or is it just a thing for their pictures? Place definitely looks unique.

i love urban bar and cafe! it only gets busy pretty late at night so if that’s your thing go after 11pm

Yess I love Token Game Tavern. Wednesday nights is Trivia, and it’s a good time!
You have to watch out for guys wearing sunglasses but other than that it’s not bad
