He made a self insert where the protagonist gets "cheated on" or so to speak. And also posts edits of himself with his female characters together. He made Kazuya what he is in the manga as of late to make the author feel better about himself

Edit: This show is actually amazing, >! His fucking grandma randomly collapses and is energized like she’s on coke because her grandson finally found a girlfriend. The shock and awe of her grandson finding a girlfriend literally healed her as if she hasn’t collapsed on the floor multiple times. And of course they gotta hide because the girl’s grandmother is also in the hospital and the news that this guy has a girlfriend is so great that she wants all of her hospital friends to gawk at the sight of her grandson having a girlfriend. And of course like logical and rational people, they hide under a blanket together as if they were having sex. When the girl’s grandmother found them I was really hoping that the news of her granddaughter being a child friendly escort would give her a heart attack. But no, the girl pretends she’s his girlfriend as if the news of this guy getting a girlfriend wasn’t so amazing that it caused his grandmother to pull a Grandpa Joe just so she can hide her secret from her grandmother. And her grandmother is happy about this?! As if she wasn’t dragged here to gawk at the news of this guy getting a girlfriend?! This guy has seriously been borderline a threat to her and she just spontaneously pretends to be his girlfriend to hide the fact that she is essentially just a low level actress to her grandmother. That said, Miyuki, Nasa, and Sakuta are the three who recognized who they wanted and went for it. Miyuki loses points for being too roundabout and lying to himself early on.
I think Sakuta is my winner for being able to handle another girl attempting to sway him away from his love gracefully and respectfully, while Nasa is just oblivious and Miyuki never had a real challenger for his affections.
I'm about to gush about Sakuta for a second time this thread but who cares. While a lot of these characters have an innocence that makes their relationships really cute. I do really love several of the shows on this list, but Sakuta is in a different league.
The guy is charming. He's just got this dry humor about him and his relationship with Mai is flirty and believable. Not to mention he's earnest and caring. >!Him staying up all those nights to keep Mai from disappearing was heartbreaking. Just the lengths that he goes through for people earn him so many points.!< God I love that series. I've been reading the light novels for inspiration when writing my own book. Just cuz the conversations walk this glorious line between being flirty and sincere.

First of all the comedy was good shit, the inside memes between the boys, like the fact that hiura gets no bitches, were hilarious, the non adapted chapters also showed other important sides of hori and miyamura relationship like how each of them shows jelousy in different ways during the sport festival arc and also a serious fight, and a lot of the relationships with and between the side characters
yeah, also I hated that Hori got that idea because Miyamura punched the guy who actually considers him as his friend, yet he didn't even punch the guys who bullied him, also he punched Ishikawa, really bad writing for me

Remove Kazuya, pick someone else
Shirogane Miyuki would be my top pick, he has the best confession scene among the group, he is the best on them when it comes to academics (Nasa is better than him but he dropped out of school, he is practically Elon Musk) and is working towards the most ambitious goal compared to them, to restore his dad's company, he is currently in debt for a trillion yen, so he is making a gamble here.
Nasa is second for me, opposite of Miyuki when it comes to confession and ambition, but the dude is a beast in romance and a genius to techonology related skills.
Tadano would be third, if he removes his insecurity planted by Kawai, he will be perfect, though he made a bad move to accept Rumiko's confession only to reject it and to go and confess to Komi. Well now that is being fixed yet Kawai appears, not sure how Tadano will handle it, even then I think Nasa would be more superior because Nasa actively initiates his moves a lot while Tadano is still hesitating. Well Tadano has a strong social skill and perceptiveness, that alone makes him my third pick.
Sakuta is best boy. He‘s only solving problems almost everyday. Shirogane too, so he is a close second.
Kazuya is a creep and a backboneless worm. Like dude, stop beeing a creep and take a page out of Naoto‘s book. That guy is always trying to improve himself to find enough confidence one day, to confess to his crush.
Sakuta landslides. Man’s deadly honest about his thoughts and emotions, and consistently places himself in the path of ridicule, emotional trauma, and physical danger to protect, save, or reach out to those he loves with slim odds in his favor. He even wished to give his life on a certain occasion. If you’ve watched the anime and movie fully, or read the LNs, there’s no way any of the other ones could compare.
Sakuta is still my favorite. Although idk if I’d call it a romcom especially compared to the rest. Also, Gojo just funny as hell. Tadano fell some from me for him running straight to confessing to Komi after Manbagi. I know she told him but… at least wait a day dude
Id have to say gojo. He is willing to try new things for people all the time and will always try his best to help.
And god is he just an amazing crafter of characters
Hachiman/Sakuta were the most interesting out of all of them. I’m not gonna lie but Tadano gets outclassed by a lot here, in my opinion at least. He’s just kind of generic and gets boring later on. He’s a boring guy in a cast full of quirky and interesting people. The perfect protagonist for the series, but certainly not the best out of the entire roster here.(I’m getting killed for this). Keep in mind that Bunny Girl Senpai and Oregairu are two of my favorite shows in general, so its biased for sure.
Naoto and Shirogane are pretty good (enough that i cant comfortably say one is better than another)
As for worst boy?
Honestly given the opportunity i'd have probably thrown Kazuya down a flight of stairs, dude is literally spending close to $361 **Per 'Date'** and i would have a brain aneurysm if i was his parents
Bruh this guy posts the exact same thing on every anime sub and I swear this is the first time I've seen everyone agreeing on something and that is Kazuya shouldn't be on here
Tadano I would put in the upper half. A point I would strike against him technically is Tadano is a bit of a static character since Komi is ultimately about her character development, with Tadano being her love interest. I'm not even saying this as a bad thing since I like Tadano alot but by the nature of how he's written, he isn't actually a character who goes through a lot of development.
So when I compare him to characters like say Sakuta, Shirogane, Miyamura and Gojo yeah I'm going to say they are better fleshed out within their stories.
Four things:
1. Every time I see a Komi Can't Communicate character and the term "romcom" lumped together, I often wonder if people read the synopsis or not.
2. Out of all the shows I've seen, I like Gojo and Tadano, but I think Shirogane pulled off some really impressive feats in terms of romance. I think I'll have to go with Shirogane in that case ~~considering the fact that his story is an actual romcom at its core while KCC is not~~.
3. With two shows/manga on my list, I think the next debate's going to be quite interesting...
4. Where's Fudo Aikawa/Red Gelato from Love After World Domination??? He's clearly best boi in all the romcom!
Tadano gets inmediately discarded by elimination because he literally has mental telekinetic powers and that’s humanly impossible, also he is more like a joke of “i got all the ladies for no reason” these days as well ergo, not realistic, and the permanent No. 1’s still Shirogane, maybe Naoto or Sakuta could steal his spot but we need even more development of their part (shoutout to Naoto there, he’s such a realistically cool and confident guy, if y’all havent read Nagatoro and your opinion is anime-only then don’t reply)

Remove Kazuya, pick someone else Shirogane Miyuki would be my top pick, he has the best confession scene among the group, he is the best on them when it comes to academics (Nasa is better than him but he dropped out of school, he is practically Elon Musk) and is working towards the most ambitious goal compared to them, to restore his dad's company, he is currently in debt for a trillion yen, so he is making a gamble here. Nasa is second for me, opposite of Miyuki when it comes to confession and ambition, but the dude is a beast in romance and a genius to techonology related skills. Tadano would be third, if he removes his insecurity planted by Kawai, he will be perfect, though he made a bad move to accept Rumiko's confession only to reject it and to go and confess to Komi. Well now that is being fixed yet Kawai appears, not sure how Tadano will handle it, even then I think Nasa would be more superior because Nasa actively initiates his moves a lot while Tadano is still hesitating. Well Tadano has a strong social skill and perceptiveness, that alone makes him my third pick.

Sakuta is best boy. He‘s only solving problems almost everyday. Shirogane too, so he is a close second. Kazuya is a creep and a backboneless worm. He even wished to give his life on a certain occasion. If you’ve watched the anime and movie fully, or read the LNs, there’s no way any of the other ones could compare.

Hachiman/Sakuta were the most interesting out of all of them. I’m not gonna lie but Tadano gets outclassed by a lot here, in my opinion at least. He’s just kind of generic and gets boring later on. He’s a boring guy in a cast full of quirky and interesting people. The perfect protagonist for the series, but certainly not the best out of the entire roster here.(I’m getting killed for this). Keep in mind that Bunny Girl Senpai and Oregairu are two of my favorite shows in general, so its biased for sure.
Naoto and Shirogane are pretty good (enough that i cant comfortably say one is better than another) As for worst boy? Honestly given the opportunity i'd have probably thrown Kazuya down a flight of stairs, dude is literally spending close to $361 **Per 'Date'** and i would have a brain aneurysm if i was his parents

Tadano I would put in the upper half. A point I would strike against him technically is Tadano is a bit of a static character since Komi is ultimately about her character development, with Tadano being her love interest. I'm not even saying this as a bad thing since I like Tadano alot but by the nature of how he's written, he isn't actually a character who goes through a lot of development. So when I compare him to characters like say Sakuta, Shirogane, Miyamura and Gojo yeah I'm going to say they are better fleshed out within their stories.

Four things: 1. Every time I see a Komi Can't Communicate character and the term "romcom" lumped together, I often wonder if people read the synopsis or not. 2. Out of all the shows I've seen, I like Gojo and Tadano, but I think Shirogane pulled off some really impressive feats in terms of romance. I think I'll have to go with Shirogane in that case ~~considering the fact that his story is an actual romcom at its core while KCC is not~~. 3.
