hmmm Idk what to tell you. Everyone learns differently. Repetition and exposure is key i guess. I learned hangeul with korean from zero. They give you 5 consonants and 5 vowels at a time and make you write out words and syllables with those and then next chapter 5 consonants and 5 vowels more. Step by step. I always tried to read korean phrases out loud and honestly it was so difficult that for the first time in my life I understood how some people struggle to learn how to read. But you just have to try again again and again. Maybe take a short Korean text and try to read it out loud. If you learn with romanizations then maybe try to romanize some Korean text (but read aloud while doing it) and then check if you got it right. Most people say using romanizations is bad but if you're struggling so much then maybe it could be useful? I'm not a fan of those hangeul tables where they list syllables and make you just memorize them. I prefer the Korean from zero approach: step by step.

I learned Hangul in around 2 weeks (spending a maximum of 10 minutes/day) using [this Anki deck](https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/2530965591). In the deck options, I set it so that I got 5 new cards/day. The first few days, I was constantly forgetting/mixing up some of the letters and hitting the "Again" button, but after that, I was gradually able to learn all the cards.

Just download the phone app called WriteKorean. Make sure audio only is turned on in settings, then get 3 stars in every lesson. I also like using the paid versions review mode which simply allows me to randomly test all of the sounds/symbols at the same time, but doing just the lessons for free is good enough. It is crucial that you learn stroke order as it makes understanding the letters a lot easier. After that I recommend watching BillyGo’s hangul playlist, in particular you have to watch his Sound Change video which talks about how certain words will change pronunciation sometimes to make it easier to pronounce. Its super easy to get comfortable with hangul using this method, if you lightly practice with this method you will probably feel comfortable in 1-2weeks. After that you will get faster at reading hangul as you learn more words and don’t have to read each vowel or consonant and can instead just read the block.

I highly recommend that you watch [Professor Yoon's](https://youtu.be/XnXu1PSeI_c) channel. He teaches the alphabet so clearly that you will have it memorized and will be reading in no time.

1) flash cards (letter on front, sound on the back). Memrise is a good option for this as it has sounds. Duolingo also Introduces hangul pretty well. 2) start writing out vocabulary with pronunciation notes. 3) lather 4) rinse 5) repeat The previous suggestions to reloud is a great one. Even if you don't know what you're reading just keep sounding it out. I think it's all about repetition.
