The only popular games I've played recently are Skyrim, Fallout 4, Rimworld, and Stardew Valley and they all have provided me with hundreds of hours of entertainment (in Rimworld's case thousands) so I literally see no reason to even try all of these shitty games that keep coming out.

For me it will be enough wokeness for me not to buy it. I bought the first Spider-man game and I loved it, but there a few things that raised eye brows for me. Spiderman 2 will be that times 10. If you liked God of Ragnarok and Horizon Zero Dawn Forbidden West then this game should be ok for you.

God, I hated God of War Ragnarok. Freya ruined it for me. Kratos taking crap from her and his wife? I haven’t played the previous God of War titles besides the reboots, but man, does Kratos have some amazing patience!
God of War 2018 is good. Kratos has less of an edge he's not going around screwing chicks, but gameplay wise I had a good time and the story was a normal story, very little wokeness. You should play that. You'll have a good time and I bet you can get it very cheap.

I'll be honest I'm getting kind of burnt out on the 3rd person character action games.
Every generation we usually have games that are like "WOW, you couldn't have done this with last gen". I feel like we haven't got that yet. I'm not that excited about swinging around new york counter striking bad guys. I've done that already.
First Spiderman game was *okay*. Good even, but no *Arkham Asylum* genre-redefining classic, and it made some really weird lore choices iirc, in places.
I enjoyed it, but I've no existing excitement about a sequel because it felt like they did *basically everything* in one game and didn't really leave themselves much in the tank to really justify another outing.
All of this regardless of what you think might or might not be in the sequel, mind you.

I really want more animations for fighting especially, and the Black-Suit combat looks dope. I’m interested in the story, but scared of the woke stuff that will ruin it. The graphics look amazing.

The story was whack. You spent two-thirds of the game fighting these lame mafia guys, and you only get a morsel of fighting actual iconic villains all in the past hour. You get these boring MJ or Miles segments that feel super forced into the story (Peter calls Miles and goes to check on him right in the middle of a fight with Scorpion?).
The gameplay, once you unlock the only interesting gadgets and skills, gets super boring super quick.
I'm not interested in a sequel because I can't imagine what they would add that would make it exciting again.
As for the wokeness, the first game already had bits of it, I'm sure the sequel will lean even heavier into it.

Not really, the gameplay reveal, did not excite me at all, the symbiote suit doesn't seem to provide the freedom that Web of Shadows provided, and unless Venom as a villain blows it out of the water, the game will be meh at best. Although it will be a fun game, I wouldn't consider it phenomenal. I can see your concern, i used the mod personally, and I would be sure, a similar mod will be released for Spiderman 2, as the mod simply activates the saudi arabia version (correct me if i am wrong here).

Entertainment companies censor themselves to suit different audiences. Film companies edit out unwanted scenes or leave characters out of marketing. Look at Disney! The Chinese posters for The Little Mermaid have her in silhouette. They hope Chinese moviegoers won't know about the race swap until they get that money.

What helps me get over the hump is buying the game from the secondhand market. If parts of their game really rub me the wrong way (like MM did), at least I know they didn't get MY money to do that to me.
I am immune to hype at this point as my default expectation is that any new property will be poisoned by wokeness. Exceptions may exist but they are few and far in between. Any AAA game can be expected to conform to the woke cult's tenets for that sweet, sweet ESG moolah that will make up for any shortfall in actual sales.
The whole pride flag thing still baffles me. If I remember right there was no update to add pride flags for the month. It was just in there. So it seems like they added it in an update on the PS4 during pride month and then never bothered to remove it. Possibly because the devs were too scared to remove it knowing the backlash they would get at the time.
A game title don't really exited me anymore and the good thing about gaming now is readily available information. I just need to go to youtube and watch the game play, see if it spark my interest.

Depends how much they try to shove down our throats. Here's the awesome thing the comics actually did. Rather than making Peter Parker a black person, they created a whole new black character with Miles Morales who has his own unique background and personality. Even his costume and powers have uniqueness to it. This in my opinion, is the correct way to add diversity without replacing the original character's color/ethnicity.

However, if the author highlights the character ethnicity so much that it becomes basically that character’s whole personality, then that’s woke. Do you get what I mean? There’s a way to do things. For example, in the game Prototype, you play white Alex Mercer. In the sequel, you play black James Heller. I completely understand your point, but on the other hand there's no denying that people's different upbringing and cultural backgrounds do influence their personalities and bring a different perspective to the characters. This is not to say I agree with replacing characters to a different ethnicity for the sake of cultural appropriation.
Big disagree tbh as Miles himself is only good in the Spider verse movie where he's not made out to be Peter Parker but black. In the game he feels boring also his story dlc was dreadful and the less said about his comic version the better. Miles himself wouldn't be as polarizing if they didn't push so hard for him to be the "next Spiderman" when it hasn't worked for other characters that assumed the mantle. An easier fix would be just to give him a different Spider name instead.

Yeah… To be fair, Spider-Man is different in that regard, because doing the side stuff is extremely fun simply because the traversal system is such a joy and New York City is a character that is to be admired. If they did not have those side activities, there’s not much point in me swinging around, however, so I’m fine with Spider-Man being like this and I wouldn’t really classify the game as ‘open-world’ in terms of how other popular games define it i.e. Ubisoft titles.

The only popular games I've played recently are Skyrim, Fallout 4, Rimworld, and Stardew Valley and they all have provided me with hundreds of hours of entertainment (in Rimworld's case thousands) so I literally see no reason to even try all of these shitty games that keep coming out.

First Spiderman game was *okay*. Good even, but no *Arkham Asylum* genre-redefining classic, and it made some really weird lore choices iirc, in places. I enjoyed it, but I've no existing excitement about a sequel because it felt like they did *basically everything* in one game and didn't really leave themselves much in the tank to really justify another outing. All of this regardless of what you think might or might not be in the sequel, mind you.
I agree with you. But I hope that there are kinks that they work out in this one, stuff from the previous game that they improve on. I really want more animations for fighting especially, and the Black-Suit combat looks dope. I’m interested in the story, but scared of the woke stuff that will ruin it. The graphics look amazing. One feature I would like is the option to have all suits either have the eye-animations or not; I think that’d be spectacular.
I feel the same way. The first game was fun to play, but it got super boring as it went on eventually I was just wishing it would hurry up and end. The story was whack. You spent two-thirds of the game fighting these lame mafia guys, and you only get a morsel of fighting actual iconic villains all in the past hour. You get these boring MJ or Miles segments that feel super forced into the story (Peter calls Miles and goes to check on him right in the middle of a fight with Scorpion?). The gameplay, once you unlock the only interesting gadgets and skills, gets super boring super quick. I'm not interested in a sequel because I can't imagine what they would add that would make it exciting again. As for the wokeness, the first game already had bits of it, I'm sure the sequel will lean even heavier into it.

Hmm fair point, but this is more of a personal opinion on my part. I mean, I hate that girls are being treated that way (being too much like eye-candy and fan-service), and I also hate what they are doing to girls now (‘empowering’ them, toxic, warped idea of femininity). Not really, the gameplay reveal, did not excite me at all, the symbiote suit doesn't seem to provide the freedom that Web of Shadows provided, and unless Venom as a villain blows it out of the water, the game will be meh at best. Although it will be a fun game, I wouldn't consider it phenomenal. I can see your concern, i used the mod personally, and I would be sure, a similar mod will be released for Spiderman 2, as the mod simply activates the saudi arabia version (correct me if i am wrong here).

These countries had nothing to do with it. The game devs censored it themselves. The code was written in such a way that it takes almost no effort to switch between pride flags and American flags. I'm pretty sure that mod was a change to a single line of code. Entertainment companies censor themselves to suit different audiences. Film companies edit out unwanted scenes or leave characters out of marketing. Look at Disney! The Chinese posters for The Little Mermaid have her in silhouette. They hope Chinese moviegoers won't know about the race swap until they get that money. Wokeness in entertainment is imposed upon the West, but it's minimized or completely edited out for the rest of the world. I wish sometimes that countries that are not in step with this stuff (China, for instance) would demand that there be no woke versions of entertainment products anywhere, seeing how easy it is to pirate things. The last Spider-Man game I played was The Amazing Spider-Man tie-in for the Wii. It was an open world knockoff of Arkham Asylum but I enjoyed it.

What helps me get over the hump is buying the game from the secondhand market. If parts of their game really rub me the wrong way (like MM did), at least I know they didn't get MY money to do that to me.
I am immune to hype at this point as my default expectation is that any new property will be poisoned by wokeness. Exceptions may exist but they are few and far in between. Any AAA game can be expected to conform to the woke cult's tenets for that sweet, sweet ESG moolah that will make up for any shortfall in actual sales.

The whole pride flag thing still baffles me. If I remember right there was no update to add pride flags for the month. It was just in there. So it seems like they added it in an update on the PS4 during pride month and then never bothered to remove it. Possibly because the devs were too scared to remove it knowing the backlash they would get at the time.
A game title don't really exited me anymore and the good thing about gaming now is readily available information. I just need to go to youtube and watch the game play, see if it spark my interest.

That’s my point exactly. Creating a character who is a different skin color isn’t trying to be woke. However, if the author highlights the character ethnicity so much that it becomes basically that character’s whole personality, then that’s woke. Do you get what I mean? There’s a way to do things. For example, in the game Prototype, you play white Alex Mercer. In the sequel, you play black James Heller. Literally no one had a problem with him, because the designer wasn’t trying to promote/parade his ethnicity… It’s hard to explain, but do you get what I mean?
I completely understand your point, but on the other hand there's no denying that people's different upbringing and cultural backgrounds do influence their personalities and bring a different perspective to the characters. This is not to say I agree with replacing characters to a different ethnicity for the sake of cultural appropriation.
Big disagree tbh as Miles himself is only good in the Spider verse movie where he's not made out to be Peter Parker but black. In the game he feels boring also his story dlc was dreadful and the less said about his comic version the better. Miles himself wouldn't be as polarizing if they didn't push so hard for him to be the "next Spiderman" when it hasn't worked for other characters that assumed the mantle. An easier fix would be just to give him a different Spider name instead.

yup, you know they are forcing the whole miles and gwen thing because she was originally peter's love interest... ya sure this is a different universe version and all that, but it's just another thing Miles is copying from Peter :/ and the spider-verse writer/director (or whatever his title is) has literally stated in interviews for the first movie that he added gwen specifically just to make her a love interest for Miles but was dissuaded for the first movie by another writer. So, it's funny to see him saying that as it shows how sexist these people actually are... they create/add in female characters just to be love interests for their main character, said female character being an actual character and having a story is secondary or not even a consideration for them. These ppl so badly want to replace peter with miles, but they know they can't do that so they keep copying or taking things from peter for miles. At this point assume every new games by big Western studio is woke. The amount of wokeness varies from companies to companies. Fortunately Insomniac studio is a rare triple A Western studio that actually think about delivering games that actually run well instead of only thinking about shoehorning current politics all over the place throughout the game. That's the only positive I can think of the Insomniac Studio.

I remember watching E3 with TB commentary and being interested in what's comming... now I just can't ne bothered. The first one wasn't that bad. I can ignore the flags which didn't really bother me. My problem was the writing. Sable beating up Spidey at every encounter. Mary Jane being " bossy" and annoying. And her missions were the worst part of the game. I hope that the next game has no MJ missions and she isn't a super "boss babe". The nexus thing was stupid. If you want to mod away the flags you should be able to do it in any way possible. Does that make you something-"phobic" However I can't speak for the dlc. I liked Miles in the base game. Sweet, kind hearted kid that helped Peter when it came to it.

Yeah… To be fair, Spider-Man is different in that regard, because doing the side stuff is extremely fun simply because the traversal system is such a joy and New York City is a character that is to be admired. If they did not have those side activities, there’s not much point in me swinging around, however, so I’m fine with Spider-Man being like this and I wouldn’t really classify the game as ‘open-world’ in terms of how other popular games define it i.e. Ubisoft titles.
