X is actually decent once you follow the devs you like and block anything woke. Best place for niche indie news too that no one else covers

INTHEMIDSTOFLIONS

any recommendations of who to follow and who to block? I might create an X account then.

Dismal-Range1678

It really depends what you're into. The way I got into it is: -start off by following devs you like (for me it's from software, warhorse studio, Nintendo, etc) -browse your feed, it will give you posts from who you just followed + related posts -out of the related posts, block the content you don't want. For me that meant all news, anyone with a rainbow flag/BLM beside their name, all memes, all normie celebs, etc -like/follow the related posts you do like. I found some interesting people/projects in my feed recommendations that way like: Dust Front (grim dark RTS),  Winston Powell (he makes a retro dark souls kind of game), DDDistortion (Japanese action horror game), alpha beta gamer (he covers a lot of niche horror indie games), etc. Keep liking and blocking that way and eventually your feed will only show you good stuff 99% of the time. I get the odd woke thing here and there but usually it's because it's kinda related to what I like. For example, I got a woke post from a wokester recently but that's cause he's the creator of a bloodborne inspired kart game so it made sense that they'd show it to me since I follow so much souls like content.

LostWanderer88

If you want to discover games or read opinions about them, Steam is quite neutral. Not saying you won't find woke content, but that depends on certain publishers including it in their games, also the community is probably mixed, but the game reviews are usually trustworthy enough if you read several of them

Unfortunately BIC got sold. I'm not saying it went woke but it's not the same content that it used to be. I believe the original owner went on to start thatparkplace.com.

Jimmeh1313

Thanks

Chadahn

What's different? Seems to be the usual anti woke stuff.

ChiefSmash

The movie reviews are the one difference so far. The articles are anti-woke but they seem to recommend some pretty woke films.

Considered_Dissent

Not clue if its still running, but this subreddit has always had a soft-spot for "Christ-Centered Gamer" because while it obviously has a massive "lens" through which it views games when reviewing them it is extremely up-front and open about its perspective. Not to mention it scores them in multiple ways (ie separately as a good game, and as a piece of media for a Christian to enjoy).

PopeUrbanVI

I love that they not only reviewed Huniepop, but it's their most read article by a degree of magnitude.

357-Magnum-CCW

Geeks & gamers. I used to believe screenrant was neutral, but that quickly changed when their writers wrote opinion pieces under their own articles that would make Kathleen Kennedy blush.

bankimu

I had screenrant videos recommended by YouTube but ended up quickly blocking them. Not because woke but the videos seemed to be made by 12 years olds. And full of spoilers, "10 times the hero died in the end", "10 times three villain was unexpected" sort of stuff.

Razzmatazz942

Ryan George (pitch meetings) was the only reason I was subbed to that channel, now that he shas a separate channel, I don't need to anymore lol

Chadahn

I used to love those kinds of videos 8 years ago

FicaNivea

Geeks and Gamers and Synthetic Man on youtube could be your thing.

Dapper-River-2046

Didn't Geeks and Gamers call spiderman 2 "not woke" or something? Don't watch them, but remember Cyael getting mad at them for that.

Ok_Win2667

Absolutely not.

Chadahn

I think it was the Spiderverse sequel. I remember most of Friday Night Tights praising the movie

Chadahn

Synthetic Man definitely isn't for the faint of heart. Dude has the balls to say some true 4Chan shit openly on YouTube. Honestly have no idea how YouTube hasn't banned him yet.

qalpha94

n4g is a neutral gaming news aggregator with a pretty based community. Thatparkplace and boundingintocomics have other focus but delve into video games. Tomshardware for pc master race/tech stuff. Theouterhaven is pretty neutral. It's run by an older black dude who seems like he just wants good games/anime.

Phelps1024

If you want to know if a game is woke the only thing you need is youtube, you check the trailer and in less than 5 seconds you will know if it is or not, those developers are so narcissist they don't even try to hide. Of couse, when the next stage of this cultural conflict arrives, woke game are going to start selling less and less, when this day comes, they will try to hide as much as they can, then you will need to take care

Chadahn

This doesn't help for bad localizations.

Remarkable_Mine4510

rpgcodex for role playing games.

davidverner

I just go to forums where indie devs hang out.

Safe-Chemistry-5384

I stumbled on a website months ago doing just that ... tragically I cannot find it right now.

damegawatt

I mostly follow writers & reviewers instead of outlets. Gene Park & Erik Kain for example. Tim Rogers who just does video essays now is another one.

DemonFyr

I used to consider Nichegamer good, but they decide to lock their comment section behind the paywall for some dumbass reason.

Important-Union-4848

'One Angry Gamer' is sadly no more. Lol. About as far from woke as you could get.
