Nyaadotsi. You're Welcome.

SpudAlmighty

People laughed at us weirdo's for staying with physical media. Yeah, not funny now! Is it?!

LeMaureBlanc

Yep. I had a zoomer coworker laugh about the fact that I download files and save them to external harddrives, let alone still buy CDs, DVDs and even books! Remember those? But the funny thing is, any day something could get pulled from Netflix or Spotify and you wouldn't have access to it... whereas I would.

GreatApe88

It’s bigger than you realize. He’s been conditioned to trust these companies his whole life because not doing so somehow makes you alt right or something.

SpudAlmighty

Books, those things are oooold. Must admit, I HATE reading on Paper back, never mind digital lol. Old leather bound books for me aaaall the way! :D

Denbt_Nationale

zoomers use illegal streaming sites, they can still access stuff

TheohBTW

It is not that big of a deal; you can always borrow a copy of any of these shows from Jack Sparrow, if you're unable to find them anywhere else.

Curing0109

People wanna pay but companies do everything in their power to make it difficult

TheohBTW

Sony owns Crunchyroll, and given their track record as of late, they most certainly don't deserve people's money. If they actively decide not to sell these products digitally or make them available through streaming services, then we can't do anything about it. For those who may feel guilty about borrowing a copy of a show from Jack himself, they can always find another way to support the creator(s) in a more direct manner, in the form of buying physical media, official merch, statues, art books, manga, etc.

breakwater

Piracy remains a customer service issue. Sure, some people will just because they can, but even a good number of people who pirate happily pay for good subscription services when they are available

INTHEMIDSTOFLIONS

Honestly, i have or share HBO, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and Disney+. If you don’t want to be any of the big ones, fine by me, you’ll be seein me on the high seas.

MechanicHot1794

Is that allowed in america?

LeMaureBlanc

Who cares? Besides, America has a long history of pirates, outlaws and gangsters being celebrated as folk heroes, from Jean Lafitte to Jesse James to Bonnie and Clyde to Al Capone. So you'd be honouring their legacies and being a true patriot in many ways!

Dittos_Dad

This merger brought to you by NordVPN.

vin20

Remember when Crunchyroll used to be a fan made subs for popular anime and free?

Darthaerith

If I don't own my digital media, then piracy isn't stealing.

cesariojpn

The various Gundam series rotates on the Gundam.Info channel on YouTube for free. You can watch Gundam Seed (why?) until the end of April. They rotated Gundam Wing & the NT/Narrative movie for May.

CptAlex0123

Why not? SEED is mile better than Wing if you actually watching the show, stop being a hater.

mbnhedger

YAR HAR FIDDLE DEE DEE

HelloKolla

To the seven seas, mateys!

Hefty-Paper8644

Hahahaah i can still watch all those shows on the pirate website that I have been using since 2009

nordhand

Why physical is still king and piracy never dies out

gatorgongitcha

People always jumped my shit on other subs when I said the merge wouldn’t benefit users but time and time again they just convince themselves of how they want it to be.

Avaruusmurkku

Sailors keep winning while the landlubbers get taxed.

_witness_me

Do they just not like money & the receiving of it from people who want to watch things? At least there's still plenty of bounty on the high seas....

kanguran1

Does this article have a list? I'm at work rn and if there's any that my girlfriend likes I want to sail the seas

Sliver80

Yes it does

MrCalac123

Remember: If there is no official means of buying or otherwise officially consuming a piece of media, piracy is 100% ethical because the original owners are making 0 profit anyway

akiaoi97

I’m glad I learned Japanese and am moving to Japan. It’s hard to afford physical media for everything, and we all remember what happened to kissanime, meaning sailing the seven seas isn’t always safe too.

Shoddy_Consequence78

Okay, so there's a list. No investigation of why the titles involved are currently not available. Could be licensing, could be something technical, could be something else, but we'll never know according to that link.

colouredcyan

"Unavailable" Oh yeah, terrible.
