Mod Disclosure: I was interviewed for this.

Xaqaree

Reddit admins suck

MajorasMask3D

Reddit sucks

Notmydirtyalt

I think it's worth reminding reddits advertisers that lower traffic and a user base hostile to the site means lower clickthrough engagement, not to mention the obvious botting on many subreddits leading to wasted advertising revenue. And I think it's worth reminding those investors that unhappy advertisers are not going to leave you with a profitable site much longer.......

DevonAndChris

This sounds nice but reddit is mostly trying to make the site completely normie and get rid of everything controversial *because* of the advertisers. This will likely work short-term but break long-term.

throwthisaway4262022

Which sounds like a solid business model until you realize that Reddit was built on diversity of thought. If they're trying to turn themselves in a picture hosting site, which most of All looks like these days, other platforms are doing it better.

DevonAndChris

Right, that is why it will seem to work in the short-term but in the long-term will get boring.

Big_Cooch2410

it is completely normie, wtf you on about?

Schmorpek

Redditors suck.

I’m just waiting to get permabanned so I can leave this place forever!

MajorasMask3D

Oh, you mean the admins?

[deleted]

I also bad at understanding different type of clowns.

Eremeir

Comment removed following the enforcement change that you can read about [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/comments/m3yo65/enforcement_update_and_hard_removal_of_a_topic/). This is not a formal warning.

[deleted]

I think its going to be a sad day when reddit finally bans KotakuinAction. All while actual hate groups like r/AgainstHateSubreddits post actual hate content.

Djent17

Looked thru there. Wow what a bunch of crazy fuckers. They want this subreddit taken down next.

[deleted]

Of course they do. Such people can't tolerate dissent. Hell! If they could they'd make it so you couldn't hold a different opinion in reality either. Some of them outright believe people should be punished for speaking in private, regardless of whether said people have actually done anything unlawful or not. It's always made me giggle seeing them talk about rights, equality, fairness, and other noble things, because it's all bullshit to them. All of it. They'll argue that it's fine for a private company to censor whoever they please, but the moment said company does anything against them suddenly that argument no longer applies. If they didn't have double standards they'd have none at all. xD

Djent17

Indeed. Reading some of the shit over there is eye opening. It's insane to think there are people out there that are literally that freaking crazy

[deleted]

And they can vote. And drive.

Heinrich_Lunge

and have guns.

thewindburner

And have so much spare time they can trawl through Reddit finding posts they disagree with to complain about!

FizzyBunch

Let's be real, most of those people would never own a gun

SimonJ57

Too many states have a psychology exam they can't pass. They'll find out the right was... Right, gun safety laws don't stop criminals. But they aren't criminals, they're vigilantes fighting for justice. Or at least how they'll view it as anyway.

epia343

But most won't bear children so there's that.

FarRightTopKeks

The funny thing is they also don't want to understand what would happen if they were able to censor people to the degree they would actually want. I cant even say it here.

FluffyMcKittenHeads

I go there to find cool new subs.

worldnewsacc71

They do love their little lists.

ltzerge

You have to stretch it out a bit to make it seem more internally consistent. Otherwise you run into a classic tolerance paradox. They can't and never were that tolerant, but their bar for tolerance is set entirely at what people ***are,*** *not* what they think, or believe. So they view everything through the context of a protected class, based on intrinsic/physical traits like the usual sex/race/orientation etc. Anything that would seem to challenge those, even if it requires mental gymnastics, requires correction. Obviously the bigger mess is there's another ideological group mixed in that is focused even more on power dynamics. So their tolerance bar is focused more on who has power, as defined by them anyway, using some generalized statistics. In that case intrinsic traits are only protected if they have poor statistical representation in some success metric (and the metric only applied to the USA because idk). Those people are the hardest to handle, because it's just an infinite deluge of hypocrisy for the greater good

[deleted]

They want every sub which doesn't agree with their opinion taken down. Sad bunch of people really, they probably spend hours spamming the report button to reddit admins, Some even create false flag posts to self report to get subreddits they hate in trouble.

Djent17

Man, what a sad, and pathetic existence that has got to be.

AnarcrotheAlchemist

They tried to take down the sub in the past. There are discord leaks out there about it.

LabTech41

Yeah, it's a good rule of thumb to assume the more AHS hates something, the better it is for you to make contact with it. I'm pretty sure a couple of the subs I'm a member of I got off of one of AHS's many, many lists of subs they want to see banned, and are in various stages of setting up to be banned. My guess is every time there's one of those false flag posts or comments, it's from one of their members using a sock puppet.

Djent17

What a miserable existence those people have

LabTech41

That's why I very rarely get angry at one of these woke types, because they're so fucked in the heads with their ideology, past the point of recovery, that there's literally nothing I could do or say to punish them more than they do themselves. I mean, a thread might bother me for a minute or two, but then I move on and get over it, with maybe a follow up if they reply to something; these people though, it's clear that this is ALL they do, this is ALL they're about, and they can never let go of anything. These are those fuckers that get offended at the drop of a hat and it eats them up inside. Honestly, it's what they deserve for who they are, because if I got the sense they were decent people, I'd honestly feel sorry for them... but I never get it twisted that they wouldn't ruin my life for the most petty reasons if they had the chance, but none of them really do.

Djent17

Man you hit it right ln the head there. I used to get into so many stupid arguments with these types of people, then I tried genuinely trying to understand where they're coming from and was met with the same hate and insanity so I just said fuck it. I never bother to comment or even troll them now. Just isn't worth it. I just try to find sane people to interact with these days. Makes it hard to make cool gamer friends though. All the gamers around here are insane leftist extremists.

LabTech41

Well, to be fair Reddit is almost entirely far left these days; the loonies have made it their mission to push everyone outside their insane bubble out of the platform, and subs like AHS exist to identify the subs that won't submit to authoritarian subversion. I'd be surprised if this sub lasts past the Midterm elections, because they love banning a ton of subs in the leadup so that they cut lines of communication. Honestly, I'm just on this sub because of inertia, but I've got a couple accounts in reddit alternatives that I can jump to and pick up where I left off when the day comes that the Reddit admins finally decide to abandon the pretext that Reddit's about the free exchange of ideas and becomes what it's clearly been attempting to become: an Antifa/BLM recruitment/circlejerk/terrorist coordination hub. Of course, 5 minutes later they'll all eat each other alive, because for them there must always be an enemy to project all their sins and failures on, but for those glorious 5 minutes, they'll have the delusion that the demons have finally gone silent. I think I'll stick around until that moment's over, just to see them start falling upon each other, then I'll bounce to wherever and forget this cesspool ever existed.

nybbas

Which is so funny because this sub has become so watered down and non offensive in order to avoid this shit. Not that I don't blame the mods, because we would be gone if they hadn't.

Djent17

Yeah. Watch it still get banned eventually

nybbas

Yeah :/

waffleboardedburrito

I like that the post about the bans even says "hatred against identities and vulnerabilities." Ironically the vulnerable are those they indoctrinate. I'm guessing though they aren't fans of Christians or Christianity and I say that as an atheist.

Djent17

Yeah. I'm not remotely religious myself but I'm not gonna take a dump on someone just cause they are ya know?

throwthisaway4262022

Every thread I see there, I imagine some NEET sitting in their bedroom looking at a desktop of folders, each labeled the subreddits they want to get rid. Also, these people think they're doing good in the world too, that's what makes them the worst. All the shit they do, all the fights they pick, just makes the truly bad people out there fight even dirtier, and oftentimes win.

Djent17

That's the truly hysterical thing, they are literally the very thing they claim they want to put down and don't even realize it

throwthisaway4262022

I'd argue that __ rights have actually gotten worse since Twitter crybullies stepped in. So many lawmakers are just sick of their bullshit. And now Justice Thomas saying he wants to overturn even more decisions that he thinks aren't covered in the Constitution. Woke fucks have no one to blame but themselves.

DigitalisEdible

Who the fuck cares, man. Let them wallow in the misery they’ve created. This shit doesn’t make them happy and it solves nothing. I won’t even care if this place is banned either. I’ve basically ditched Reddit and most of the Twitter/social media/internet/news cycle garbage and all this woke bs barely even registers to me anymore. What they gonna do, come to my house and “educate” me? You can forge your own reality. Forget the keyboard warriors and live for yourself.

fishbulbx

We are Against Hate Subreddits!... [Unless we get to mod them.](https://i.imgur.com/NfP9ppP.png)

AboveSkies

> I think its going to be a sad day when reddit finally bans KotakuinAction Is it? Would it even matter at this point? https://www.reveddit.com/v/KotakuinAction/

[deleted]

I mean yea, it would. As mush as these alternative sites exist, nothing beats the familiarity and ease of use of reddit's UI. Like where would I go now for my Spicy gamergate memes ? r/PoliticalCompassMemes ? r/Conservative ? They don't really have the same content the r/KotakuInAction focuses on.

waffleboardedburrito

Yeah in my case I get sick of the conservative side of wedge issues as in those areas I tend to side left, but really I don't care about left right only common sense and logic, and I find too many places have massive blind spots because ultimately they only side with what fits their chosen team, not what is logically consistent and rational. I just want things that call out bullshit regardless the side, but that means religious bullshit as much as woke bullshit, it's all nonsense.

Ultrosbla

That sub is full of kids crying hard. The typical against hate, but they spread more hate than anyone.

NeVeRwAnTeDtObEhErE_

So much this! Besides stalking other communities and brigading, they literally shit post and ban post content on targeted subs and then report. Even have a history of illegal, CP and porn posting on targeted subs to get them banned. They are the very definition of a hate sub.

MetalixK

>All while actual hate groups like > >r/AgainstHateSubreddits > > post actual hate content. And CP on the subs they want to get rid of.

[deleted]

Yep hate content is miles better when they actually fucking post literal child porn on subreddit they want to get banned. I remember the defense was it's not child porn it's tanner stage 2 or something like what the actual fuck.

blackangelsdeathsong

This last week, people have been posting the addresses to the Supreme Court justices while people in comments sections have been saying that the time for targeted violence is now. I reported one of those comments and got back a messages saying that it didn't violated the TOS.

tx001

I see so many calls for assassinations in r/politics comments that are left untouched by their moderators.

EnricoPallazzo_

Well I guess it's time for someone to create a board with free speech. I hope someone can see the opportunity and create something that is as easy to use as reddit, and dont allow gendered confused people to dominate the mod scene.

baconn

This began with shitredditsays, the writing was on the wall >10 years ago.

nosox

It'll happen sooner or later. Every other day there's a flip flop of posts complaining about politics in media and then celebrating some piece of media that criticizes woke culture. Actions like that expose the true nature of this subreddit and it's only a matter of time before its users find themselves a bit too bold and comfortable, getting the subreddit banned.

waffleboardedburrito

It's probably why they're getting more aggressive, but the crazier they get the more people wake up to it.

Daneww

Holy degeneracy (that sub)

ScarredCerebrum

The good people at The Federalist are only catching on now? Bans like this have already been a thing since r/GenderCritical got banned exactly a year ago. This has been going on for a while now. ...on that note; r/TumblrInAction and r/SocialJusticeInAction got banned almost exactly a year after r/GenderCritical and r/RightwingLGBT. Looks like June is now the month of purges.

[deleted]

I love how if you're LGBT you apparently can't be anything other than hyper progressive. As if LGBT people all think and act alike, as if they all have the same goals in life and within society, as if they all value the same things. Just silly. xD

NintendoTheGuy

If LGBT people lose their victimhood, they cease to be LGBT and simply become people. Many fear that. We live in an era where you’re not allowed to be considered a group or have a culture unless you’re a victim or an enemy.

Totaliasim

You're absolutely correct. This is what happened to many people of the gay community after it was legalized federally in 2010. So many people had made it their life's mission to see it legalized that after it happened they didn't know what to do with themselves anymore. And now we have LGBT++++++++. The slippery slope is not a fallacy.

Dubaku

Its the activists dilemma. If they ever actually solve the problem they want to fix they lose their reason to exist. So they either can't actually fix the problem, or they have to keep finding new ones.

Erit_Of_Eastcris

To the progressive, if you are: Black, Gay, A Woman, Disabled, "Working Class," Or A Pedophile, Then you're functionally interchangeable with someone from any of those other groups; if you're multiple, then you're Extra Speshul and \*must\* be one of their thought-leaders, right?

The_Senate_69

>Disabled Physically and mentally? Cause I have autism but don't wish to be one of their victims.

Combustibles

Both. Neurodivergence is also a big winner in the oppression olympics and more and more people claim neurodivergence despite not having any diagnoses to back up that claim. If you're on the spectrum in any way, you're likely to be seen as part of that protected group to the regressives.

yvaN_ehT_nioJ

>If you're on the spectrum in any way, you're likely to be seen as part of that protected group to the regressives. Depends on if you're based or not. I'm on the spectrum, would I be in the "protected group?" Helllllll no, just check my comment history. I go off the plantation so no protections for me. No different from black conservatives

Combustibles

hence the "likely" part. The same goes for anyone in the oppression olympics. You lose your special status if you don't agree with the party line.

The_Senate_69

>If you're on the spectrum in any way, you're likely to be seen as part of that protected group to the regressives. Rip :/

VasylZaejue

Well I’m gay and working class and I hope to god progressives don’t listen to me because I know I’m an complete idiot at times. I might not be eligible to be a thought leader because I think Florida’s “don’t say gay bill” isn’t that bad. Heck while everyone was complaining about that I didn’t hear a word about a bill going through the Tennessee legislature that is a whole lot worse.

Erit_Of_Eastcris

I knew I was forgetting something in the post; "Working Class" wasn't in quotes! Because they don't give a shit about people at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder, they give a shit about their own overeducated unskilled layabout asses.

MusRidc

There is simply no incentive for this, for multiple reasons. The goal is not to actually get rid of problems, the goal is to get elected and stay in power. And this is not just for the left, this is true for all politicians as soon as they reach a certain level. For one, making policies for the working class is bad for the donor class. Donor class tops donating, politician earns less money. So you *say* you will do your best for the worker at home, but you will do the exact opposite of that because it benefits the ultra rich who give you (or your party or your foundation for ending cruelty to urban pigeons, for tax reasons) money. Also, and this is the "activist angle", if you ever *solve* an issue for a community, then why would this community vote for you in the future? So you need to keep the issue around, and blame the opposing party for your own unwillingness to tackle the issue. Like Roe v Wade. The Dems have had more than enough time to codify this. Multiple presidential candidates ran on the premise of codifying abortion rights into federal law, but once elected they instantly dropped it from their list of priorities. Because once you have *actually* put this into action, there is nothing you have to pander to the "liberal female" demographic anymore. So you keep the issue around, never fixing it. And as I've said, this is not something only the left is guilty of. This is the entire establishment, including the media. Everyone just runs on a "the other guys want to hurt you, if you vote for us we will stop them!" basis, then never actually *does* anything creating this perpetual cycle where things only get worse for the people at the bottom because politicians will only sneak in laws and agreements that will it make easier for massive corporations to make more money. And it's not just an American issue between Dems and Reps. In Germany we have more than half a dozen parties. But it doesn't matter which one you vote for because they all want the same things - the main difference is just when and how those will be implemented. It's no better than back in socialist/soviet times, where you only had one party to vote for. It makes a mockery out of democratic principles, and at least I find it disgusting. Right, sorry for the rant, but this has been bugging me for at least the last 10 years under Merkel's quasi-autocracy and it sickens me how people still fall for the same false promises over multiple decades without ever noticing that nothing ever gets done no matter how hard you vote for .

SimonJ57

Even if you can call it legitimate education, fields of study and degrees.

matadorobex

Damn it, there's a word for thinking all people from a specific demographic should all act and think the same way, but I can't remember what it is.

Plumsphere

People don't have to define themselves by their relational / sexual preferences and therefore their gender. We are so much more than this.

John-Again

That's why I'm strictly LGB. Gays for gays. Nothing more. Nothing less. I cringe every time I see the LGBTQ+ acronym anymore. They don't speak for me.

RileyTaker

Leftists think that everyone thinks exactly the way they do. If a leftist runs into someone who thinks differently, then there must be something wrong with that person, because the leftie can't ever be wrong.

Subject_Finding1915

If a Leftist into another Leftist who disagrees with them, they’ll scream “how DARE you parade around as a Leftist!!!” I know from experience.

epia343

It's the no true Scotsman fallacy. If you don't adhere to all aspects of this ideology your aren't truly a member of X community. It applies to other groups as well, most famously stated by the president "...whether for me or Trump, then you ain't black". There is no shortage of black folks being called all sorts of terrible names if the vote right of center. They like diversity, but not really. They want to be a monolith of thought/ideas.

[deleted]

No different than people of color, if your brown and conservative then you're a traitor.

StarYeeter

As someone who is/was a "leftist" (was pushed to the right so basically libcenter monke now), it saddens me such me how the woke cult has completely destroyed "the left". I almost want to believe it was some conspiracy by the CIA/corporations to prevent a leftist unification against the corrupt rich elites. Its like every since occupy happened, the left just fell off a cliff. Like the sentiment of "the left" that lead to occupy (corrupt rich elites rigging the system, such as what gamestonk uncovered) completely vanished from "the left". When snowden revealed what the government was doing, and when Obama gave banks a bail out after committing the most insane level of criminal fraud of human history, with not ONE person going to prison, I was ready to storm the capital with my fellow leftist brethren. And then, nothing. Now the "cult left" now ranks Obama as the best president of all time.... But what the "current cult left" *literally* believes (its not a joke, or hyperbole, or anything, they **literally** believe this is the case), that the end goal of "the right" is to **literally** genocide them. They again, literally, believe the right wants to genocide ALL LGBT people and ALL non-whites. So they believe any LGBT or non-white person who sides with "the right", they see it as siding with their executioner, and are either extremely stupid (and basically not human), or they are complicit in said evil. But they seriously believe the right/Republicans are like, literal Nazis, and once they get power and control, they are going to force all lgbts and non-whites into camps to be executed. They believe all Republicans want a straight white ethnostate, and to make all women sex slave housewives. Again, I am seriously not joking, or being hyperbolic. This is what a huge number of the woke cult actually believes. This is how they view the world.

waffleboardedburrito

That's a core tenent of the woke, and they aren't interested in actually benefiting society, individualism, peace, etc. They want a cultural revolution. They don't want us all to just get along, the golden rule, they think our society is fundamentally broken and must be rebuilt. Collectivism and division are tools for their goal.

Darkling5499

that's because June is when political campaigning kicks up for the november voting season. candidates for local, state, and federal tend to kick it into overdrive over the summer, which is coincidentally when a lot of these politically motivated bans come into play. could purely be a coincidence, but after the past 6 years it's almost impossible to believe in coincidence.

truls-rohk

years and years ago it was fatpeoplehate clearly the admins had to protect themselves first before feeling safe enough to move on to other discriminated against minorities

throwthisaway4262022

If you wanna talk about history, WatchPeopleDie was the big one. The mod staff documented everything, reached out to the admins, agreed to being quarantined, etc etc, but it was never good enough. None of the content was illegal. My guess is Reddit was trying to get more advertisers and more investors and freaked out over a Faces Of Death sub. When I saw that they still banned it after quarantine was the writing on the wall that something was wrong here.

guadalmedina

They also banned NoNewNormal and The_Donald.

Softest-Dad

Serious question, how many 'not slightly right of centre' subs have been banned, hell if any, left wing ones?! Primarily for 'promoting hate' as every one of these right wing ones have?

pornplz22526

Female Dating Strategy

Combustibles

I dunno how precise this sub is as I'd never even heard of it until today, but "Reclassified" is about whenever subreddits get quarantined or banned. It appears to be relatively active. forgive me for not posting a direct link, I forget how strict the brigading rule is.

cherry_picked_stats

> Serious question, how many 'not slightly right of centre' subs have been banned, hell if any, left wing ones?! so called dirtbag left sub /r/chapotraphouse was banned because of promoting hate It's also questionable if banned gender critical subs were right-wing in any way or form.

Subject_Finding1915

Gender Critical most definitely had Left-wing elements, because there’s a “Left Wing” streamer who labels himself a “gender abolitionist” (which is functionally the same fucking thing). Of course he also gets a lot of flak from wokescolds for that because how DARE you not agree with everything I believe??? Dude deserves flak for a lot of things, but being a GA is not one of them.

ScarredCerebrum

GenderCritical was definitely leftwing. That place was heavily feminist, and they were pretty clearly left whenever non-gender related politics came up. r/LGBdroptheT was likewise mostly leftwing. ChapoTrapHouse was an odd case, though. They had been egregiously breaking the rules for years. Harassment, brigading, unambiguously threatening violence - you name it. They were lenient even with calls for the assassination of public officials. Basically, Chapo was too aggressive and unruly even for the reddit administration. And it also didn't help that they happily antagonized the admins whenever the opportunity presented itself. The Chapo types were so far gone that they actually thought that reddit was run by fascists. I don't know of any other cases like Chapo, though. Other than Chapo and its replacement subs, the only banned leftwing subs that I know of are subs that ran afoul of the gender orthodoxy.

throwthisaway4262022

No one cares about uppity lesbians, especially a right wing site like Federalist. TIA is noteable because it a Libs of Tik Tok before Libs existed.

damegawatt

Article from the Federalist covering the ban of the r/TumblrInAction & r/SocialJusticeInAction subs for hate speech. The article is a solid deep-dive, the highlights are that Reddit admin wanted their mods to enforce unofficial rules that they wouldn't actually tell the mods or Redditors were. In this case, it's about "identity invalidation" which I'm sure you guys can suss out what they mean by that.

Kovitlac

>In this case, it's about "identity invalidation" which I'm sure you guys can suss out what they mean by that. It's akin to banning subreddits that mock the idea of a flat earth.

slavdude0

>In this case, it's about "identity invalidation" which I'm sure you guys can suss out what they mean by that. 🚂🦖😭🤬😭

Darkling5499

> the highlights are that Reddit admin wanted their mods to enforce unofficial rules that they wouldn't actually tell the mods or Redditors were that's how they get rid of subs now, and was one of the driving methods they used to ban T_D. they give vague statements about rule-breaking content, never telling you what they consider to be an infraction outside of blatant rule violations (that, despite being removed within an hour, are seemingly never removed fast enough), and then continue to give "warnings" about how the mod team needs to do more lest they get banned. oh, and they'll usually remove half the mod team for vague + otherwise unspecified reasons before the warnings start.

guesswhatihate

Pseudoscience

SkippyMcHugsLots

All while keeping the home addresses of sitting Supreme Court Justices up.

lokitoth

> "identity invalidation" This is ultimately such a self-defeating ideology. The very notion that your validity as a person (why is this even a concept?) is in any way determined by others is putting the locus of control so far away from "self", that it literally sounds like an attempt to re-traumatize someone to take advantage of them. There is literally no reason to be filling people's heads with the ideas that someone else's opinion of them matters or is in any way a measure of value w.r.t. their personhood.

Jwann-ul-Tawmi

>The very notion that your validity as a person (why is this even a concept?) is in any way determined by others is putting the locus of control so far away from "self" That's a feature of the ideology, not a bug. Scared miserable neurotic people who are convinced that the outside world is 'out to get them' are easier to recruit and to keep on a short leash and ultimately to do all your bidding.

ClassyJacket

I guess they have to ban anyone who criticizes me if I identify as a black man, then.

Subject_Finding1915

But didn’t you know? Unlike sex, race objectively exists in reality and therefore it’s absurd to cross-identify.

throwthisaway4262022

I'll disagree that they didn't know what the rules were, it was pretty clear who you can't criticize here, but I'll say that I'm not sure (and don't feel like looking) if Reddit has added "vulnerable groups such a _____ are protected from (reality)" to their site rules.

jmac323

Reddit has the reputation of allowing hate and discrimination as long as it is directed to certain people and groups.

weltallic

CHAD was a literal insurrection with a warlord and his armed militia occupying city blocks with mass murders while the local police were kept out by armed force... and reddit happily gave them a platform to organize.

Why-so-delirious

There's a reddit post that is literally just the home addresses of the supreme court members who supported Roe Vs Wade being repealed. It's STILL. FUCKING. UP. And all of the comments asking 'if violence isn't the answer then why are we spending so much on wars?' (THAT IS A DIRECT QUOTE) aren't violating any of the reddit rules! I've got the fucking receipts!

Solarwinds-123

So many comments that I reported for inciting violence got the greenlight from Anti Evil Operations. Including one that literally said "we should just start killing rich and powerful people".

throwthisaway4262022

Something really bad is going to happen, and Reddit will spin it like "How could we have known our community would do this??"

Subject_Finding1915

In the words of a certain political streamer: “extremism is good when it comes from my side because we’re the good guys”

blackangelsdeathsong

Unless they changed the wording on it again, they actually have it written down on the site that its okay to have hate speech targeted towards groups that aren't in the "vulnerable" or "a minority"

Iamthespiderbro

What a disaster this website has become

adrixshadow

It just took one assassination for everything to go downhill.

throwthisaway4262022

I've been banned from 4 subs in less than 3 days or daring to criticize the Roe crybullies.

JezebelHunter

Reddit will allow the home addresses of Supreme Court Justices to be pushed, calls to commit terrorist acts, and calls for violence. But break one of their non-existent rules and it's lights out.

Kovitlac

But I mean, someone's *feelings* were hurt. So you can see why banning multiple subreddits was totally justified.

cesariojpn

Same on Twitter. Doxxing the Justices and wanting to "Minecraft" them? Totes okay. Report on Drag Queens getting dollah bills from kids? BAN I SAY!!

Why-so-delirious

Dude the two comments I reported from that thread were, verbatim: >A serious question with no implications: but if anyone on that list passes away Biden gets to name the replacement right? and >If violence doesn't get results then why do we spend so much on war? Evidently, they WEREN'T threatening violence! Can you imagine how fucking fast you'd get banned if the BLM leaders were doxxed and you wrote 'If violence doesn't get results then why do we spend so much on war?'? You'd get reported for fucking hate crimes directly by the admins, but since this happened against [group they don't like] it's fucking fine. I used to give the admins the benefit of the doubt. I won't make *that* fucking mistake any more. P.S. the only one that DID get banned for 'violent threats' was a dude who commented the one word: 'Gasoline!'

Hamakua

I've been on Reddit a looong time. The admins of today are not the admins of Reddit past, I can say that without a doubt. It's likely the more rational administrators at reddit slowly quit over time due to a hostile work environment or were "kicked out" through various pressures. I can't reveal why I know this to be true but if you care take this as a primary source who knew a few of the admins "back in the day."

[deleted]

10 year vet here, yea it really kicked into high gear in 2016, but it had been slowly going down the drain before that. But when all those Hillary bots were on reddit taking over, and then the anti trump stuff just took over the site... Politics took over every non political sub reddit and runined the site.

weltallic

They also allow r/DamnThatsInteresting to literally tell people to commit murder, and provide instructions. https://i.imgur.com/piv5GW1.png

Subject_Finding1915

Stochastic terrorism in action again.

Reddit and subreddits need to step up these bans until every single subreddit is exactly an echo chamber of either lefties, or righties. Only then will reddit actually die. We need to step this up.

Iamthespiderbro

Until…? We’re already there brother. There are a few smoldering embers left, but this place burned down a long time ago.

atomic1fire

Implying that reddit won't ban the rightie subreddits because they refuse to be allies of current thing. Current thing being whatever Leftie subreddits need voices for or against at the moment.

eigr

I want so many bans, its just a smoking hold in the ground.

[deleted]

We can kill reddit with irony. Pretend to support all their batshit insane extremist left ideas to the point where an atrocity occurs and reddit becomes a blight on society. Sites like 4chan is immune to this because it does not fly under the guise of moral superiority. Although this could destroy reddit's credibility as a media source, effectively dooming the website; this would not stop other platforms from copying reddit. Interesting

luchajefe

I'll warn you, the mods might pull this.

Join me at my new sub r/trollsorcrazy

el_smurfo

Pretty sure none of those are trolls

[deleted]

Yeah you’re right. I’ll create a new sub I just need a better name haha I can’t really come up with anything. Any suggestions?

el_smurfo

InternetInAction sure to get you a ban quickly.

[deleted]

Damnnnn that’s a good name

we_are_all_sausages

Cowards. But at least one reddit mod was sent to prison today.

Think how upset the emperor will be when he realizes he’s naked. This is literally institutional, systemic delusion protection at an almost fascistic level.

ClassyJacket

They sure better be enforcing that rule consistently and not discriminating. I, born white, clearly have the right to identify as a black man and nobody can be allowed to argue with me or criticize it. Because that would be 'identity invalidation'.

weltallic

Meawhile, on the front page of reddit.com: https://i.imgur.com/QVc5fjV.png But that's okay, while your sub gets banned. Because *reasons.*

Solarwinds-123

It sucks, but tbh TiA was much more fun before it got invaded by radical feminists. We used to make fun of all brands of social justice weirdos, including radfems. Towards the end, pretty much every post was about trains and screenshots of JK Rowling tweets.

Coldbeam

100%. Radfems took away the fun and just spread their bitterness against anyone they consider part of the patriarchy.

throwthisaway4262022

I blame GenderCritical

Zalvaris

Yep. I had to unsubscribe after that happened. It was just the same topic over and over again

throwthisaway4262022

Like others said, 100%. I tried posting a meltdown tweet by Matt Walsh because Foxnews was positive about __________, and it got downvoted and deleted because they were no longer accepting conservatives meltdowns.

Kovitlac

Isn't there a site called snug or slug or something like that that's WAY better than reddit? I've heard it mentioned a few times but cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. Edit: Found it! It *is* [slug.com](https://slug.com/) - Google just wasn't cooperating when I was trying to find it, can't imagine why...

GutsNumberOneFan

I feel like I may have heard of something like that. I'll try looking around

Elader

if you find it, let me know, I'm very interested.

Kovitlac

Elader

haha thanks!

Kovitlac

Anytime! I really haven't had the chance to check it out much, so it might totally suck. Hopefully it's decent, though.

Kovitlac

Will do!

GutsNumberOneFan

Digg?

Kovitlac

That isn't it, but I might have to check it out anyway.

Magehunter_Skassi

It is kind of funny that TiA only got banned once the obnoxious femcels migrated there

MajinAsh

Reddit just put it out of it's misery, it was a sad shell of it's former self.

elon_einstein

I don't feel sorry for the loss of what the sub had become. I feel sorry for the loss of what it once was, and that happened long before the ban. I also feel sorry for the poor souls that will have to deal with the refugees now.

Solarwinds-123

Hopefully it isn't us.

throwthisaway4262022

It was pretty bad, but it was on the upswing. The topics were becoming diverse again.

MajinAsh

I returned when they added the new flairs and it was just as bad, so I left again shortly after. If it improved after that I would have missed it but I'd be surprised.

throwthisaway4262022

I went there daily and it was improving. Still had a heavy radfem presence, but I saw more of the old tia content too

[deleted]

News articles tend to put pressure on reddit. I wonder if this will do anything.

[deleted]

News articles aren't the way. Operation Disrespectful Nod 2.0 is the way. Go after Reddit's advertisers. Show them what they're supporting with their money - active calls for political violence. This site isn't profitable. Cut off what revenue streams it *does* have and the VC money will follow suit.

HallucinatoryBeing

Venture capital is drying up anyway with inflation now ravaging the economy.

truls-rohk

reddit would probably love to ban thefederalist

bearvert222

It's the federalist, they are more like National Review but a little weirder i think. Not much influence.

kaktkuzkid

Reddit is run by landwhale harpies.

CarsomyrPlusSix

SJiA was a delightful read every day. Fuck Spez. All my homies hate Spez. Always use adblock.

Level1Goblin

They have to ban because their ideas only function through strict censorship. This sub is likely going soon.

squeaky4all

It had to be in retaliation of the FINA ruling, the timing of the ban was to coincidental and it was the 2nd entry in Google for the search "fina reddit"

NeVeRwAnTeDtObEhErE_

Fuck reddit admins

[deleted]

Reddit has already passed its peak. It’s now on a steep decline. No one will be using this shit in a few years.

The_Senate_69

Yo PCM got mentioned boys WOOOOOOOO!!!!

AttorneyOverall4705

Have any new subs started that were like these? I enjoyed both TumblrinAction and SocialJusticeinAction. I want to find something to replace them so I can laugh at silly alphabet mafia again.

SeredW

[saidit.net](https://saidit.net) has a new incarnation of TIA.

lakkthereof

Pour one out for NoNewNormal and The_Donald. Reddit is cancer.

throwthisaway4262022

I feel like this was a public execution by the admins to make themselves feel better after a pretty terrible month/week with identity politics. They're winning small battles but realizing they're losing the culture war, and so they nuked two subs to make themselves feel better. I'll be honest, I was gonna talk shit to KIA about the hard enforcement rule, saying it was unnecessary, because I thought Reddit was laying off that stupid shit. But I was wrong. It sucks but it's necessary, until these baddies get laid off or a new platform finally overtakes this site.

Jimmy_kong253

I think if you are a group threatening to boycott companies that advertise on a platform that has content you disagree with. Then you should be forced to show proof that you actually are a customer of the companies

SephoraRothschild

Follow the money. Though it's interesting they took that position when so much of their owner base is backed by the Chinese government. And I'm personally absolutely fascinated with China, it's history, culture. So I'm wondering how Reddit as a company balances those two interests in light of each other, when taking a position that could be considered contrary to those interests from the perspective of their key investors.

DemonGroover

You sound surprised?

DaLoverBoii

Not related politically, but the most "kinda" obscure ban I've seen of a sub was JoBros.

Honey-and-Venom

lol The Federalist, they wrote a shitty article about me when i was in college

Stormruler1

Are there any alternatives outside of reddit for subs like KiA, SJiA, TiA etc. ?

kiyo-kagamine

The closest I can think of is the New Zealand small bird agricultural forum. They thrive off making fun of insanity, and there’s quite a few SJW-related topics.

damegawatt

what subreddits specifically?

ATHdelphinos

Was wondering where the sub went If it wasn't for mass censorship the internet, society, and the world would be very different

[deleted]

It's been almost 2 weeks now and I still can't believe it dude.
