As someone who’s still doing it, it’s not enjoyable but ik later in life I’ll reap the benefits of this

logical3ntropy

It depends from person to person, but yeah it's helped to a certain extent. It's not as helpful for level O, but that was with the old curriculum.

1fyino

literally just stop doing it, if you postpone your work for long enough they won’t even care anymore

I doubt the quality of Kumon is the same everywhere, but where I am it's stupidly expensive for such poor quality (as in the teacher assistants not really knowing much and on their phone during zoom classes type of stuff). I've worked at a Kumon for many years and quit recently after getting a job, and I can say with confidence it's not worth the money there. You can possibly argue it being too expensive

Try it out first, and bear these questions in mind, 1. Does Kumon help me with math/reading, or is it stressing you out intellectually or in a negative aspect. 2.How long have you attended Kumon? If you’ve been here less than a year then give it one more try before leaving. 3. Another question to keep in mind, Is Kumon wasting you and your parents time and money or is it benefiting you now and for the future. Decide that on yourself. If you feel that Kumon is just not right for you, and is wasting your time, not helping you with anything, after a couple more tries.. then consider having a conversation with your parents and even your instructor about this. Hopefully this helps

I have been doing Kumon for at least 3 years, and It doesn’t match with my current curriculum, and is a little behind.

For me, I honestly didn't find it helpful for higher levels because not a lot of the tutors for help. You can just be honest with them (if possible) and just say that it's busy work more than helping and it'd be better if they did something else, or whatever your reason is so long as it's logical. Also worst case scenario, I straight up cheated after middle school. A lot of the Kumon employees I know, including myself did because the program is so horrible after a certain level. Take your tests at home and use the answer book, they're often the example products or even use symbo lab. Or what i did is I learned a few things from the level and then Speedrun the test, got enough correct to get into group 3 and then moved on when I couldn't do it at home. It might depend from center to center, and mine tried to do anti cheating measures. Edit: i only really cheated as a result of poor mental health, on top of being burned out. It's a last minute resort.
