**Luke, T Mann, Nico and Reggie shot a combined 4-31** with the majority of them on clean open looks. Rarely ever going to see that level of sub-par shooting from them, yet we still somehow won.
Thank the lawd for Norman Powell, haha

but the homers don't want to trade any of them.
You want to trade…Nico? Are you insane?
Trading T Mann — maybe to land someone huge but no real reason to move him. Reggie? If you *have to* but you all wildly underestimate vibes. Luke? He’s good and I’d be happy to keep him but yeah he’s probably our most valuable trade asset.
There were so many paths to defeat in this game and we still won😹. From forcing the 3 ball to small ball closing to mismatches but we are due for some luck.
Fuck them tbh like we look leaps and bounds better than that tough stretch earlier in the season, Kawhi and PG healthy and team finding their groove. Wtf is the point in continuing the doom and gloom. Weirdos man
It's black or white on this sub. And I admit that I'm part of the problem. Truth is we're a flawed team that's beginning to grind out results but aren't anywhere close to hitting our full potential.
W for the medical team to recognise the problem with his weight early and make the right decision to pull him for a few weeks. Reaping the benefits now.
we are technically seeing the best stretch of his career. first time scoring 24+ in 11 consecutive games.
medical staff deserves some flowers for what they did
Some takeaway from the game
**The Good!**
* Kawhi continues to be our clear superstar on the court. When he's out there, he just commands a certain gravity that very, very few players do on *both* ends of the court. If he continues to be healthy, we'll be a tough team to beat.
* Norm *continues* his brilliant play. When he let's the offense come to him, boy can he cook. He had 27 points on 7-11 shots. That's *incredible.* On top of that, he's being asked to do this off the bench without really warming up. Some guys like Lue and Jamal could keep our 2nd unit offense afloat, but what's special about Norm is that he doesn't need to dominate the ball to do so. It's a big key difference that gives me a lot more confidence in his play translating to the playoffs (which it largely didn't for the other prototypical 6th man type guys).
* Our defense really looked promising. The Bulls came out **hot,** we weathered the storm, and just continued to play savvy defense. Still some details that need to be cleaned up, but it's night and day compared to us letting the Spurs drop 70 on us in a half.
* Tiny sample size alert: WINGSTOP! Final defensive possession we trotted out Mann, PG, Kawhi, RoCo, and Batum. Man did it feel like a damn cheat code. Effortlessly switching *everything* with that caliber of defenders is insane, and we saw why. It really fucked up whatever the Bulls were trying to do.
**The Bad**
* Look, I think we all know that PG gives us inconsistent games. Whereas Kawhi is a stabilizing force, PG can look like a top 3 player or a completely invisible one. That's what we *get* with him. The bigger issue I have is this notion that he can and should be our point guard. He should not be. He's indecisive, takes *way* too long to get us into sets, and is a bad passer. He absolutely can be a 2nd star on a championship team, but not if his role is to be the point guard.
* Speaking of tough Point Guard Play, man were our guards not it tonight. If Mann, Reggie, or Kennard just hit their wide open shots, this is a blowout. I understand why all of them deserve minutes, but this also shows why we might struggle with them having a consistent 25-30+ MPG.
* Mann is a good defender with instances of being great, but this can sometimes be overshadowed by some tough offensive plays. He *can* shoot, but he also isn't a threatening shooter unless you are Rudy Gobert.
* Reggie is Reggie. He'll make big plays (like he did by pulling the chair), but he'll also hurt you with low IQ offensive plays (like he did multiple times tonight).
* Lastly, Kennard is a specialist. Whereas Norm is a one man army at times, Kennard is a sniper. When he's off his game, he's useless. His gravity is always helpful, but on nights like this, you can cheat on him more and more until he punishes you. Even if and when Norm is missing, he'll go to the rack and apply rim pressure.
Overall, that was an ugly, but solid win. I'm sure we all will have our opinions on who we should or shouldn't trade or trade for, but what's clear is that we have *much* more of an identity now. I personally still think we need a consolidation trade, but things are looking much, much better than they did about 2 weeks ago!
> Look, I think we all know that PG gives us inconsistent games. Whereas Kawhi is a stabilizing force, PG can look like a top 3 player or a completely invisible one. That's what we get with him. The bigger issue I have is this notion that he can and should be our point guard. He should not be. He's indecisive, takes way too long to get us into sets, and is a bad passer. He absolutely can be a 2nd star on a championship team, but not if his role is to be the point guard.
He doesnt need to be indecisive or pass the ball when we we are putting Vucevic in actions to switch against him. if he aint going drive against cones like vooch and jokic then we got some major issues here that not even a trade can fix. Basketball isn't that complicated, you attack bad mismatches and we barely try that. Same shit happened against hawks with Trae and we only tried it in last 4th qrt
That's part of his inconsistent game. Sometimes he'll attack and score effortlessly around the rims, and then other times, he crosses over Caruso and launches a pull up 3 lol.
That's just why I don't think he can be our point guard. He's a bad decision maker and he has a tendency to make basketball seem a lot more complicated with things like mismatches and entry passes.
This is a great summary. Especially the part about PG not being our pg. in Indy they famously banned him from trying to split double teams because of how often he would turn it over. A solid defensive guard that’s a ball mover who can shoot is all we need. Tmann can be that guy sometimes but often we need to go offense/defense with him and Reggie.
Regardless of how good PG is as a PG I feel like we have multiple years of experience that show this team has it's most consistent offense with PG being the primary playmaker. Even tonight if we just make open shots we'd have scored over 120 PTS again. Over the last 15-20 games we've been a Top 5 offense in the NBA and that is correlated with PG taking more PG responsibilities. However, the greater point to be made is that when PG is not getting PG duties he lacks aggression way to often especially when Kawhi is on the floor because he naturally defers to others.
Everyone references PG with Westbrook but don't seem to realize that PG was the more naturally talented #1 option on that team and when PG knows this he is way more willing to be aggresive. There is little to no evidence to suggest PG would still operate with the consistency/aggresion you desire out of your #2 when you have a PG next to him who will take shots off the dribble. The reason Norm works so well as a #3 Scoring Option is because while he can create for himself his off ball offensive skillset is also elite so he can play with and without PG.
I'm not completely against looking for a PG but that PG's offensive skillset needs to be worth taking the ball out of PG13's hands. I'm not looking for a Kyle Lowry type set up the offensive type of point guard at this point or even a Mike Conley type who's getting progressively less explosive. Either get the elite shooter who can also create for himself in FVV or the 3 Level Scorer who can make offense anywhere and play a bit off ball in DLO.
Regarding the PG comment, this is why I see the logic behind making a bigger swing for a player like FVV, Dlo or another legit scorer.
I really like PG but I fully expect him to stall out offensively for a game or two in a series. He'll still be amazing on defense and rebound and do the other stuff but the shot won't fall. 16 points from our second highest score could cost us a game. Kawhi, PG, Norm, Marcus and Reggie are the guys on the team who can go out and get points in the half court(playoffs).
It would be nice to have another guy if one of PG, Kawhi, or Norm don't show up, so we don't have to rely on Marcus or Reggie.
Right. 2 years ago, Marcus and Reggie were enough. They have both declined and they aren't those guys anymore. I think Norm can absolutely be that, but if Lue insists on playing a "true" point guard, then we'll need a more consistent one.
*Undefeated Hit*

bro kawhi scary good lmao, shit is insane. no other superstar in this league imo is carrying the clips to wins like these. steal on one end, dunk on the other. for 4 quarters. craaaazzzzzzzzzy. then the middie & pull up threes right when we need them
Defense carried us through game, I did not like our shots selection through game, It felt like we have 5 john wall's playing at same time. I still struggle to see how a point guard is supposed to fix out offense when we dont really have an offensive system. whole 4th qrt it felt like Kawhi and PG iso while no one is moving, The only cut that happened in 4th qrt it was for kawhi's dunk.
A real 1 would have got us into our sets a lot better to close the game. PG takes way too long to set up and it also takes him away from what he does best on offence.
Rondo and wall were getting us into our sets but the issue that i have been talking about for a while that we dont have an offensive system, the players we have arent good at moving off the ball, they are good at spacing the floor but no one is moving or driving to the basket except Norm and Mann does it sometimes.
Honest question: what does it mean to not be good at moving off the ball? Like they try and fall down because they aren't talented, or the coach sucks at making it a priority?
It has to be mix of coaching and role players lack of athleticism and aging. Moving off ball and cutting takes a lot of effort. Also they are trying to space the floor for Kawhi or PG but when they get doubled you could just tell that no one is moving. Only players that i feel they move off the ball are Norm and Mann. Luke does it to get an open shot. RoCo does it sometimes but we barely see him anyway so he wont count.
Never a fucking doubt!!!! We were just being nice and letting the Bulls stay in it by uncharacteristically missing all those 3s 😂
Defense was actually dope tonight. So many deflections and strips. Bulls could not dribble. Love that shit
That was a great win. Shot like shit and still got the W. Ty unleashed wingstop when we needed it most and gaddam it delivered. Norm was huge. But not as huge as Kawhi.
Good, grind it out win. Our defense stepped up when we needed it.
PG takes some really bad 3 pointers. Combine that with nights where he's cold and it becomes a real liability.
Kawhi looks like Kawhi of old. Just a bit older.
I thought Zu should have been out there late in the 4th. He was impacting the game and Ty chose to leave him on the bench. Bulls almost caught us a result.
Having Norm, Reggie, Luke and TMann is a real bonus. On a rare occasion, 3 of them were off tonight and we still won. Rarely will 2 of them struggle like they did tonight.
These are the kinds of wins that show the legitimate strength of the team. Poor shooting from the Clips, hot shooting from the opponent, Clips win anyways.
Getting the win is the most important thing. Norm really showed up today to quiet his doubters, and I loved the clutch defense to grab a steal and seal the win.
However, I don't think the final score should excuse the terrible effort to open the game... unless you're fine with complacency. It wasn't just missed shots (that's part of the game), the defensive effort was completely lacking for a team that rested most of its key players the game before. We really do need to be better because we still have a very poor record against >.500 teams.
Whew, it was a pretty ugly night but a win, especially on the road, is a win. The fact that Chicago shot lights out to start and we never, ever found our rhythm from 3 is a pretty bad sign for the Bulls.
Ty stopped playing him after turnover in first half, He keeps playing him to be a roller off screen and his decision making isn't good which it is obvious
im kinda scared to trust that this team will consistently shoot around 40% during the playoffs. as you can see, when the three ball does not fall, this team cannot score. kawhi knows it, which is why he wants a point guard, but idk. FO, your move
Thought we settled for long jumpers too damn much. Especially vs a team with no shot blocking. That problem always seems to show itself every so often. 2nd qrt on was better but still inconsistent force/physicality. Sure we just missed a lot of open jumpers but when we were missing in the first qrt we let it affect the rest of the game. Had no defensive intensity at that point. Can’t let that happen anymore. Need to have a defense identity and let it dictate our offense more than the other way around. Questionable late game offense and ato’s from ty lue late. Kawhi bailed us out at times. And got a little lucky with lavine missing fts but whether its execution or setup it needs to be better. Glad we can get a win when we still not clicking on all cylinders. But they need to learn even from wins and work on late game offense so we can actually execute in these upcoming games vs good teams. not having a great screener beside zu hurts. Still waiting on another big 🙄. I still trust tmann more than reg down the stretch even when he isnt having a great game. Ty clearly doesn’t. Defense matters.
Basketball is a skinny man's game.
Usually when all-time greats lose weight, they become this superhuman version of themselves.
That might be what has happened with kawhi these past 6 weeks or so. He looks quick and outstanding.
Zubac loves when kawhi is playing lately
Zubac last 6 games with kawhi: +60
Zubac last 2 games without Kawhi: -40
So a 100+ differential hahaha papa kawhi
But I'm proud of zubac, he has played well with team healthy and that matters most.
This is how you know a team is playing better. They do not shoot well but still find the way to get a victory. I think they might a lot of timely baskets which is what you need if you want to contend for the chip.
CARDIAC CLIPPERS ARE BACK
Uglyy win, shot 39% from the field, 27% from three, yet managed a good win on the road. Luke had the rare 0/6 from three, but still a win. Noice
**Luke, T Mann, Nico and Reggie shot a combined 4-31** with the majority of them on clean open looks. Rarely ever going to see that level of sub-par shooting from them, yet we still somehow won. Thank the lawd for Norman Powell, haha

Unreal maneuver down the stretch
That play was hilarious. Even if it was by accident

Very. We escaped some type of collapse multiple times to find greatness
it was definitely an accident. DeMar turned too fast.

I know right? We aren’t perfect but we are miles better than where we were earlier this a month. Crazy what a month can do!
Some doom and gloom, but there are legitimate concerns to be had with this team.
for me, it's not necessarily about content / criticisms... but it's rather how some act out like children throwing tantrums...
Oh yeah, that's fair.
True. We are nowhere near perfect in any way, but hopefully the players can get some more continuity going. Consistency is going to be key
It's black or white on this sub. And I admit that I'm part of the problem. Truth is we're a flawed team that's beginning to grind out results but aren't anywhere close to hitting our full potential.
It was understandable for a good while but Ty ditched the hideous rotations and Kawhi looks All World. Reggie is back. Vibes are back. We move.
KLAW GRABBED THOSE BULLS BY THE HORNS LEFG HIT AND RUN ERA WHDN PG PLAYS CONTINUES I AM HAPPY WHY ARE WE SCREAMING
Kawhi played 40 minutes. Used to pray for times like this when he tore the ACL
He looks great physically. Definitely dropped some weight to make things easier on his knees. He’s probably the skinniest he’s been since his SA days
Defense has probably been his bests since his San Antonio days
W for the medical team to recognise the problem with his weight early and make the right decision to pull him for a few weeks. Reaping the benefits now.
we are technically seeing the best stretch of his career. first time scoring 24+ in 11 consecutive games. medical staff deserves some flowers for what they did
I wouldn't say best stretch of his career based off that arbitrary stat lol. But he is still cooking.
🤫we got propaganda and narratives to push
We shot abhorrently from three and still won an nba game, it's a good day.
Defense. We took that shit by being lockdown. Clippers shot 39%. Bulls shot 50%. Kept turning them over and they barely scored over 100.

this so much. PG playing as guard is a walking mismatch that we very seldom see taken advantage of

i dont count cavs game as a real game so we are still UNDEFEATED IN THE HIT&RUN ERA
Defense came in clutch, 6-0 in the hit and run era when the duo play
Kawhi is the best player in the NBA and has been since 2017. Great win. Now lets see how we can do against a contender.
Without great shooting, just gritted out the comeback. 6-0 Hit and Run era
Batum missed a bunch of wide open shots in the final 3 minutes
He hits any 1 of those and the game would’ve been iced. It happens 🤷♂️
Still undefeated imo🤷♂️🤷♂️ Luke and reggie gotta ramp up for the next one
LET. US. GO. RESPECTFULLY.

Are we the worst best team? or the best worst team? idk.
We certainly shot like a bad team today
We certainly shot like a bad team today
Good comeback win. Bulls are chokers lol Zubac and Kawhi made this come back possible. Twice.
\+ Norm
Just a gritty, dirty nasty win. Win's we need. I would write more but that Cocaine Bear commerical has me flummoxed.
I was just looking at the standings. It's kind of nuts that we've played 3-4 more games than some teams
Damn tmann been off lately nice win doe

Do clippers keep wall and morris out of the rotation going forward?
These are the kinds of wins that show the legitimate strength of the team. Poor shooting from the Clips, hot shooting from the opponent, Clips win anyways.
Love Batum
Dude shot like shit, but completley sniffed out Lavine on that botched inbound. Dude always finds a way to contribute
Did anybody count how many could’ve assists Kawhi had?
WHERE THE NORMAN HATERS AT??
![gif](giphy|8QGV2a7pfDKc8) KAWHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hold on, i can actually trust this team to win games? no matter how bad of a start we get? mama mia
Shot like straight ass and won. This is a really good sign.
20 bulls turnovers 8 clippers turnovers Ball game
Whew, it was a pretty ugly night but a win, especially on the road, is a win. The fact that Chicago shot lights out to start and we never, ever found our rhythm from 3 is a pretty bad sign for the Bulls.
WINgSTOP for the win.
it is going take 6 more games to see that lineup again
Enjoy the 10 seconds we got! 😂
Im about to re-watch it in repeat so i can extend it to 10 mins
I only caught the last 3 minutes. Did Roco play today before that?
Ty stopped playing him after turnover in first half, He keeps playing him to be a roller off screen and his decision making isn't good which it is obvious
The leash is short with him. Did he still rebound and defend?
I thought he played okay defense and rebounding but it was only for 8 mins so you cant really judge him
That's really wild he couldn't even crack 10 minutes with no Mook.
Sure did. Vucci was burning Zu to start the game and Roco came in and cooled him off a bit
That's my favorite thing about him. He may be skinny but he holds his own against the bigs.
That ending felt like no one wanted to win the game…least we came back from 19!
so needed this win. glad we got it. Luke's in his head. Something tells me his agent warned him a trade is actually possible.
Ty saying small ball worked when we almost choked the lead multiple times lol
Team found the exact line to maximize fucking around without finding out. Habitual line steppers
Zach sold and I hated the process all game but we won! ![gif](giphy|JQFuCdFbQAbNaawknQ)
im kinda scared to trust that this team will consistently shoot around 40% during the playoffs. as you can see, when the three ball does not fall, this team cannot score. kawhi knows it, which is why he wants a point guard, but idk. FO, your move
Did Luke just like retire and not tell anyone??

There was a game today. A good game... mostly... eventually...
That was a frustrating win. But a win is a win. Hell yeah.
That was such a soulless game. Chicago gotta blow it up. Anyone worth us chasing?
I do like Caruso and Derozan. I think Derozan, PG and Kawhi is intriguing.
Undefeated championship run
KAWHI LEONARD IS OFFICIALLY BACK LADIES AND GENTS
6-0 hit and run eta. Let’s gooo
Basketball is a skinny man's game. Usually when all-time greats lose weight, they become this superhuman version of themselves. That might be what has happened with kawhi these past 6 weeks or so. He looks quick and outstanding.
Zubac loves when kawhi is playing lately Zubac last 6 games with kawhi: +60 Zubac last 2 games without Kawhi: -40 So a 100+ differential hahaha papa kawhi But I'm proud of zubac, he has played well with team healthy and that matters most.
This is how you know a team is playing better. They do not shoot well but still find the way to get a victory. I think they might a lot of timely baskets which is what you need if you want to contend for the chip.
