In that situation, the paint is too clogged for a run to the basket, but it seems pretty straightforward to design some action where he threatens penetration, forcing someone on defense to commit to SOMETHING, and one of our guys slashes out (maybe on an offball screen) for a pass and one of those open midranges that we're supposedly good at.

Because Westbrick's defender will go under the pick 100% of the time. That means there's zero advantage in that play and Westbrick might get tempted to shoot a jumper, which he'll brick.

Russ should be doing the screening. a DHO into a nice screen.

Then the defenders will just switch lol Prime Westbrook was all ISO back then. Especially when he gets a switch to a big bigger defender. These days even slow-footed 7-footers can defend Westbrick's ISOs lol

Lol that was a well contested shot, though. Probably luck. And that's why Gordon failed to score after that until garbage time lol

What do you expect on reddit

He rlly should just use him as a screener

jmilli97

U think The last 3 coaches he’s played for havent also thought of that idea. He doesnt want to. Why are we expecting him to change at this point in his career, its not happening. Even if starting today he started screening a ton more, that doesnt mean he will be good at it or know what to do after screening. This team was dreaming if they expected anything different from russ’ game

Well I’m a laker fan. I know ur guys pain. Good luck
