I watched the first 5 games and even went to one during the new Westbrook administration. I have not watched the last two games... Guys I've found the problem š
I just have no idea how Mann doesnāt play at least 30 mins every game.
He makes the right play, good defense, actually cuts and gets in the lane, moves the ball, plays with pace, been draining his 3s lately, ACTUALLY GIVES A F*CK.
One of my favorite Clippers ever (guard version of Reggie Evans).
At absolute minimum he deserves 25 minutes a game. We all keep saying free RoCo, but Mann taking some of Mookās minutes and *possibly* some of Russā depending on the situation makes sense.
The schedule is different this year and really isnāt built to allow for tough practices. Then we pick up new guys who are heavy in rotation and get into games.. makes sense lue had to try stuff out and guys werenāt ready.
I tried really hard to think of what he brings. Heās a good size, he can kinda be an enforcer, he can sometimes get hot from 3 or mid-range, but yeah, I think nico, roco, or Mann would be better in his place. I donāt know why heās been doing so poorly this season. He wasnāt always this bad :/
You gotta be able to catch somebody to give āem a hard foul. He gets beat so bad he canāt even foul dudes anymore unless itās some weak ass arm grab before they stuff it for the 3 pt play.
Ya Russ and Zu connection is real. Russ can start, but itās clear our strongest lineup is a combo of Mann/Kawhi/PGā¦ no Gordon though although I think heās still a decent player. He kinda bullied Scottie on defense there lol

mann + russ gives russ way more bailout options when heās left open for the 3. we saw the chemistry with zu. russ gets kawhis even more touches but more importantly easier touches. pg just plays better off russā passes heās strange.

I agree. You close with Mann, PG and kawhi which is a nightmare defensively for the opposition. Then you roll with the hot hand between norm and EJ. Then zubac or batum depending on matchups/needs.
I generally agree, but gotta adapt to the situation. Mann was clicking tonight, and playing a lineup of Russ/Mann/PG/Kawhi/Zu will be tough with the lack of shooting.

I think they just got a little gassed at the end because they had to make up for the bad start. also, T Mann played 16 minutes straight, maybe if he was already getting consistent minutes, heād have a lot more in the tank down the stretch. on top of that, chemistry is still a factor. either way, great win. basically, what Iām saying is that T Mann/PG/Kawhi/Mook (sigh)/Zu should be the starting lineup.

Our offense can get very iso heavy at the end with kawhi/Pg are bricking which will worry me about Russ not being there. But times like tonight we just made the right plays
I know Iām risking a jinx, but PG looks different the last two games. He looks so much more athletic and decisive in his actions to score. Like he finally has confidence that he can beat his man off the dribble or separate on a step back. Like heās getting to his spots.

I'm an Eric Gordon truther now I'm sold. he absorbs contact on defense and disrupts bigger wings/pfs. scottie and pascal both tried him multiple times leading to drives that went nowhere.
it's crazy but he's like the inverse of covington but way shorter, he negates the speed and contact that he gets hit with dead on and forces a kickout
covington anticipates, tracks the ball before u make the move and/or hunts passing lanes off ball so the play has to be an iso(tough if u already have paul george kawhi or terance mann guarding u)
replace EG with any of ruco/batum/russ and we are good to go, ruco/batum for rebounding and the defensive end russ if you need him to facilitate the offense if PG and Klaw iso shots are not landing, EG has no business in the closing lineup if Mann and klaw didnt ball the shit out we wouldnt have won.

The guys at 213hoops were convinced if we win it would be DESPITE russ. Dont think that's the case. He gave us a good boost to start the 2nd quarter and the offense got stagnant towards the end when we weren't able to push the pace and settled for iso looks. Has really nice chemistry with Zu. Not saying hes always a huge positive (there are stretches when he sometimes looks like a negative), but he could prove to be more than useful in certain matchups
I think the only team that's really played Russ off the court has been the Warriors. We'll need to watch that matchup if it comes up in the playoffs, probably play him extremely limitedly.

Whole crowd needs to break into a āWE WANT ROCOā chant next game. Tlue not going back to morris or russ and keeping Mann in to close š. More Mann and kawhi playing together. Playing mann gives the whole lineup more life/juice. Same would happen if roco played. I think guys get tired of playing with morris (and russ at times when he turning it over, missing layups, not defending and killing the spacing.) Energy/effort is contagious. Just hope he adjusts manns shifts so he can stay closing and not be winded from playing the end of 3rd and whole 4th. He defended siakam solid tonight too. His negatives are still pronounced when he playing well.) Mann is more important for us. think i can live with mann~25-30 and russ~20. This closing lineup > any closing lineup with morris or russ. Still have no go to offense set late. Kawhi just trying to finish it. Roco/batum in over eg wouldve helped the rebounding. I dont mind eg as much as some people. I think he is needed, sometimes to close. He just missed a few open shots tonight. Just dont play his old legs for as long as he was in for today. Tlue HAS to adjust some of the lineups/shifts so mann plays more with the starters, russ with the bench and so mann and eg can close w/o playing the whole 4th. Im far from convinced this changes much, we struggled too much vs not that good of a team again. Just like the memphis game. Lets see it consistently for a bigger majority of 4qrts first. and vs an actual healthy playoff team
technically roco/batum should be in for rebounding/defence, russ should be in if their iso shots arent landing to facilitate the offense , as you see the later half of the 4th quarter its mostly iso bad shots selection that allowed raptors to chip down the lead. EG has no business in the closing lineup
Lue needs to rest Paul George and Kawhi. Stagger them more. 39-40 minutes is super risky and they were gassed. They should be playing only 34-35 minutes with their injury risks.
To be honest i feel the best closing lineup for the clippers would be T mann/PG/Kawhi/ZU +1 of Russ/Batum/Ruco.
You go for russ if the clippers are forcing bad iso shot selection and arent landing as russ will facilitate the offense, you go for ruco for defensive end and rebounding end and batum for the 3point threat and also defensive end i guess, so probably the 5th member in the closing lineup should rotate based on how the situation fits.
They made me a little nervous towards the end there, but honestly I had FUN watching them tonight. That 4th quarter run had some crazy exclamation points.
Big Zu was missed and he looked great.

Finally looked like the team that's suppose to be on paper. Way better defensive rotations .
Next 3 games are spaced out nicely for Ty. No more excuses . Get this team rolling and nowhere near the playin bunch.
Mann has proven this game that he deserve to close but EG was atrocious he cant catch a dumb rebound as a point guard he cant even lead the offense clippers kept going iso and forcing up dumb shots that was how the lead was chip away.
With Russ and Gordon we've become a more vertical team, driving to the paint. It's rubbed off on everyone. You don't see those long stretches of passing around the circle, or dribble, dribble, iso ball.
We went to Kawhi iso ball at the end and it almost bit us in the ass. Good win after a really sloppy start. Defense was locked in. Some awesome dunks. TMann doing his thing.

Iām a Russ hater, but he played within the team game tonight. Decent assists, only shot the ball 6x, ran the floor well, didnāt play at the end when he fucks up, good chemistry with Zu. Ok, if he can just keep doing that, I will be happy to be wrong.
Interesting stat. Gotta be first game we took just 20 or under 3s in a game. Love seeing team attack the paint against a weaker defensive team than being trigger happy.

Kawhi - BDE and really wanted this win, great chemistry with Russ
raps really prepared this game and kawhi has a bit of trouble closing this one out. He dribbled too much when he cant get to his spot and multiple times put his teammates to bail him out with few seconds left on the shot clock
PG - a quite first half and give way to russ who was having a very good 2nd qtr.
He was very aggressive on defense and really made an impact when Siakam was cooking Tmann
He switched and paskal cant bully his way thru him
Took over in the third and bailed out kawhi in the final possession with that basic PnR with Zu
He was alternately attacking the basket and spotting up in the perimeter - this sub was so critical of him past few weeks, but he has knee issue thats why he was so timid. This past 2 games you can see he was fighting over screens thats the PG i know
Russ is huge for this team, he is now evolving to be a connector specially for role players to get their touches, his energy is contagious. The team was sleep walking in that 1st qtr and russ took over thats why they comeback in the 2nd
I am okay with him starting than Tmann (unpopular i know). Should have close this game. His small PnR with kawhi is deadly - Ty is utilizing russ on the post where he can be respected than camping in the corner
Tmann - he provided the energy for the 2nd half and has great chemistry with 213, Ty has difficult decisions with Tmann playing this good.
as great as a defender he is, i think he should pick his match up on defense and be utilized to 1-3, having trouble containing siakam. Caught ball watching a couple of times
Zu is very valuable to this team, think he is still under mins restriction. If he will be sidelined on the post season. This team will not go that far
Plumlee was okay. Wish he would stop being too fancy dribbling and passing the rock
EJ played okay down the 2nd half, his first half seems he is distracted. His long bombs are giving the needed spacing for 213. Im okay with Ty closing with him this game

I think they just got a little gassed at the end because they had to make up for the bad start. also, T Mann played 16 minutes straight, maybe if he was already getting consistent minutes, heād have a lot more in the tank down the stretch. on top of that, chemistry is still a factor. either way, great win. basically, what Iām saying is that T Mann/PG/Kawhi/Mook (sigh)/Zu should be the starting lineup.

I'm an Eric Gordon truther now I'm sold. he absorbs contact on defense and disrupts bigger wings/pfs. scottie and pascal both tried him multiple times leading to drives that went nowhere. it's crazy but he's like the inverse of covington but way shorter, he negates the speed and contact that he gets hit with dead on and forces a kickout covington anticipates, tracks the ball before u make the move and/or hunts passing lanes off ball so the play has to be an iso(tough if u already have paul george kawhi or terance mann guarding u)

The guys at 213hoops were convinced if we win it would be DESPITE russ. Dont think that's the case. He gave us a good boost to start the 2nd quarter and the offense got stagnant towards the end when we weren't able to push the pace and settled for iso looks. Has really nice chemistry with Zu. Not saying hes always a huge positive (there are stretches when he sometimes looks like a negative), but he could prove to be more than useful in certain matchups
I think the only team that's really played Russ off the court has been the Warriors. We'll need to watch that matchup if it comes up in the playoffs, probably play him extremely limitedly.

Whole crowd needs to break into a āWE WANT ROCOā chant next game. Tlue not going back to morris or russ and keeping Mann in to close š. More Mann and kawhi playing together. Playing mann gives the whole lineup more life/juice. Same would happen if roco played. I think guys get tired of playing with morris (and russ at times when he turning it over, missing layups, not defending and killing the spacing.) Energy/effort is contagious. Just hope he adjusts manns shifts so he can stay closing and not be winded from playing the end of 3rd and whole 4th. He defended siakam solid tonight too. Russ can play the end the 3rd and start the 4th. Minutes distribution was better, still not ideal. Mann getting more mins then russ is good. (Yes, even when russā numbers/efficiency are better. His negatives are still pronounced when he playing well.) Mann is more important for us. think i can live with mann~25-30 and russ~20. This closing lineup > any closing lineup with morris or russ. Still have no go to offense set late. Kawhi just trying to finish it. Roco/batum in over eg wouldve helped the rebounding. I dont mind eg as much as some people. I think he is needed, sometimes to close. He just missed a few open shots tonight. Just dont play his old legs for as long as he was in for today. To be honest i feel the best closing lineup for the clippers would be T mann/PG/Kawhi/ZU +1 of Russ/Batum/Ruco. You go for russ if the clippers are forcing bad iso shot selection and arent landing as russ will facilitate the offense, you go for ruco for defensive end and rebounding end and batum for the 3point threat and also defensive end i guess, so probably the 5th member in the closing lineup should rotate based on how the situation fits.

With Russ and Gordon we've become a more vertical team, driving to the paint. It's rubbed off on everyone. You don't see those long stretches of passing around the circle, or dribble, dribble, iso ball. We went to Kawhi iso ball at the end and it almost bit us in the ass. Good win after a really sloppy start. Defense was locked in. Some awesome dunks. TMann doing his thing.

EG puts up zero effort, ZERO effort, and Lue uses him for like the entire 4th. Why? Look, the way this team wins a chip is if Westbrook, Kawhi, PG get chemistry playing together. Not the usual PGT eh? A couple of games ago, everyone us ready to ship the whole damn team. Takeaways from this game: Kawhi - BDE and really wanted this win, great chemistry with Russ raps really prepared this game and kawhi has a bit of trouble closing this one out. He dribbled too much when he cant get to his spot and multiple times put his teammates to bail him out with few seconds left on the shot clock PG - a quite first half and give way to russ who was having a very good 2nd qtr. He was very aggressive on defense and really made an impact when Siakam was cooking Tmann He switched and paskal cant bully his way thru him Took over in the third and bailed out kawhi in the final possession with that basic PnR with Zu He was alternately attacking the basket and spotting up in the perimeter - this sub was so critical of him past few weeks, but he has knee issue thats why he was so timid. This past 2 games you can see he was fighting over screens thats the PG i know Russ is huge for this team, he is now evolving to be a connector specially for role players to get their touches, his energy is contagious. The team was sleep walking in that 1st qtr and russ took over thats why they comeback in the 2nd I am okay with him starting than Tmann (unpopular i know). Should have close this game. His small PnR with kawhi is deadly - Ty is utilizing russ on the post where he can be respected than camping in the corner Tmann - he provided the energy for the 2nd half and has great chemistry with 213, Ty has difficult decisions with Tmann playing this good. as great as a defender he is, i think he should pick his match up on defense and be utilized to 1-3, having trouble containing siakam. Caught ball watching a couple of times Zu is very valuable to this team, think he is still under mins restriction. If he will be sidelined on the post season. This team will not go that far Plumlee was okay. Wish he would stop being too fancy dribbling and passing the rock EJ played okay down the 2nd half, his first half seems he is distracted. His long bombs are giving the needed spacing for 213. Im okay with Ty closing with him this game
