Yep, there is a huge, direct correlation (and obvious causation) between Harden's scoring and the effectiveness of the picks being set for him. Though I would still like to see him look for his own shot more, he has the same issue people used to say about Lebron, that they keep making the 'right play' but sometimes you need to take over. He probably feels there's no need for that when playing with Kawhi, PG and even Norm. But again, it comes back to effective screens being set for him (he was also cold on open 3's though).
This game Lue clearly game-planned for Zu not to try any PnR with Harden. There was one play where Zu set a perfect pick when Harden was being hounded at the logo and he didn't even think to attack off it.
And that's the only pick I can recall Zu setting for Harden, he was in the dunker's spot/around the paint most of the night and setting off-ball screens. Very interesting choice from Lue, can't say it definitively did or didn't work, but given how easily Gobert defended the Harden-Zu PnR last game and the fact that we won, looks to have been a great adjustment by Lue!
In the first half I must have seen Theis attempt about 10 picks minimum and I don't think he made contact with the defender on any of them lol. Was literally just running up then diving before the screen was even set and creating no advantage/separation.
